"How is it? Has my daughter returned?" After not seeing Mo Ming for a long time, Reed was somewhat anxious, fearing that Mo Ming might change his mind and use Edith and Rossi as hostages against him.
"Chief, I've already sent someone to monitor the entrance of the Dragon Soul Gang's neighborhood, but so far there has been no movement. I wonder if he might have changed his mind about releasing the young lady."
Hank shook his head, his face filled with worry. Edith had grown up under his watch, and he had a unique bond with her. Now that Edith was in the enemy's hands, he naturally worried about her safety.
"There is a possibility of that. It's better to clarify things. Hank, go ask Shura what exactly he wants to do." Reed nodded, his eyes showing a fierce intensity as he coldly stated, "If Edith is harmed in any way, I will make the entire Dragon Soul Gang pay for it!"
Reed did not hold traditional views on gender; however, his concern for Edith was no less than that for his son Rossi, who could inherit his position.
"Understood, I'll take people there right now." Hank nodded and was about to turn to find Mo Ming for the person when Reed stopped him.
"Don't bring too many people; we don't want to provoke them. That won't benefit us at all."
"Rest assured, Chief. I'm not without brains; I know what to do."
After saying that, Hank left.
...
"Tell your boss that I'm from the Frank Family and I want to ask Shura directly if he intends to go back on his word?" Hank arrived outside the Dragon Soul Gang's headquarters with just two people.
The guard on duty heard this and asked Hank to wait a moment before immediately calling Lion.
"Lion, there's someone claiming to be from the Frank Family who wants to see the boss. Okay, got it. I'll take them in now."
After hanging up, the guard signaled to those around him, and they immediately stepped forward to search Hank and his companions.
As former elite soldiers, Hank's two companions were somewhat dissatisfied. Even though they had retired and fallen into the ranks of the underworld, they found it hard to tolerate being manhandled by a thug.
"Go to hell, we refuse to be searched!"
One of the retired Special Forces, Rairos, suddenly broke free from the search conducted by the Dragon Soul Gang members.
"Do you want to die? The rules here state that anyone who enters must be searched. Even if the King of Heaven comes, the rules remain the same!"
The brothers of Dragon Soul were filled with rage, expressing their extreme dissatisfaction with Rairos's escape. Every word was a crystallization of anger.
Rairos retorted defiantly, his eyes unwavering: "I don't want your filthy hands on me, you bastard. What are you? Just a useless guard with no skills other than standing at the door."
"Go to hell next door; how about I feed you some bullets?" The nearby Dragon Soul Brothers immediately aimed their guns at Hank and the others.
Not only did Rairos's previously arrogant expression change, but even Hank, who was used to big scenes, looked somewhat grim.
With dozens of gun barrels pointed at them from just over two meters away, any wrong move would turn them into a beehive!
"Hmph, arrogant fellow, let me see what gives you the right to act so tough!"
One of the Dragon Soul Gang members who had been shaken off by Rairos stepped forward and threw a punch. Rairos disdainfully met him head-on.
Without using guns, Rairos felt there was nothing to fear. He coldly laughed at the foolish arrogance of that Dragon Soul brother, believing that with his years of special training, a street thug could never be his match.
However, after they engaged, he realized that the Dragon Soul Gang member was actually better than him. Before long, Rairos found himself at a disadvantage.
"How is this possible? I'm a retired Special Forces soldier and I can't even beat a street thug!" A hint of shock flashed in Rairos's eyes.
Suddenly caught off guard, the Dragon Soul brother landed a heavy punch on his chest. Rairos grunted and staggered back a few steps.
"Hmph, I thought someone so arrogant would have some skills; turns out you're just like everyone else. Want to try again?" The Dragon Soul brother asked disdainfully as he prepared for another attack.
As another person arrived with Hank, he suddenly became angry and was about to make a move, but Hank quickly stopped him.
"Don't overestimate yourselves; it's simply embarrassing. You two, shut up! Don't forget the serious matter we came for. If anything happens to the young lady because of you, be prepared to face the clan leader's wrath!"
They were well aware of Reed's terrifying methods and immediately suppressed their anger, not daring to take action.
"Not going to act tough anymore?" one of the Dragon Soul Gang members sneered as he approached Hank and the others, thoroughly searching them but finding no weapons.
"Come on, it’s such a simple matter; why act all high and mighty? Follow me!"
Hank and his companions were led by the Dragon Soul Gang member to a designated room by the Lion.
The room was empty and spacious; although unoccupied, it was fully furnished, spotless, and extremely tidy.
Time passed, and Hank felt like he was about to fall asleep without any sign of Mo Ming. He felt somewhat dissatisfied, while Rairos stood up in a fit of rage.
"I think he has no intention of meeting us at all. He must be planning to go back on his word and won't let the young lady go. Sitting here is pointless; we might as well go back!"
Just then,
"Oh, isn't this Hank from the Frank Family's combat team?" Mo Ming entered with the Lion, hands behind his back.
Hank's gaze was fixed on Mo Ming like a venomous snake, feeling a bit angry but not daring to show it. He tried to regulate his emotions and smiled at Mo Ming, saying, "Shura, you really are busy with your affairs. We've almost fallen asleep waiting for you."
Originally, Mo Ming had no intention of doing this. However, seeing Rairos acting so arrogantly at the entrance made him want to temper their sharpness, so he left them waiting.
"Of course! I've been busy dealing with formidable enemies lately; how could I possibly have nothing to do? Unlike you, Hank, who still has time to come over for tea at a time like this."
Every word from Mo Ming was laced with sarcasm; even a fool could hear it!
Upon hearing this, Hank's face turned green, but thinking of Edith still in Mo Ming's hands, he could only force himself to suppress his anger.
Instead, Rairos and Kenmo, who had come with him, immediately erupted in fury. Kenmo pointed at Mo Ming and shouted, "You bastard, how dare you insult us!"
Mo Ming looked at him expressionlessly and said lightly, "I'm talking to your master; what does a dog have to bark about?"
This statement was undoubtedly a signal for the lion to act. Upon hearing it, the lion grinned and approached the two of them.
Rairos and Kenmo realized the lion intended to strike first and decided to attack him together.
However, they did not know that while the lion was large, it was also quite agile. After easily dodging Kenmo's attack, it faced Rairos's subsequent strike with a dismissive expression and swung its massive fist like a hammer in retaliation.
Rairos had no intention of holding back; his punch came with full force as he let out a low growl.
The two fists collided violently before quickly separating. A series of sharp sounds echoed as Rairos's face turned pale, and he staggered backward.
Clearly, the force behind the lion's punch was far greater than his own, resulting in Rairos's arm being broken from the impact.
If Rairos had ever heard of the "Lion's Punch" from Africa, he would not have recklessly confronted the lion head-on.
This was simply a death wish!
The lion, unwilling to hold back and eager to teach Rairos a lesson, suddenly felt Kenmo attempting to sneak attack from behind.
Not giving Kenmo a chance to ambush him, the lion swiftly turned around just in time to see Kenmo throwing a punch at him. The lion crouched down to evade the blow.
"I hate being ambushed. A man should fight honorably. Your actions have completely enraged me!" The lion's anger flared as it prepared to strike.
Hank noticed the murderous intent emanating from the lion and immediately wanted to step forward to rescue Kenmo. However, Mo Ming did not give him the opportunity and punched Hank back forcefully.
Mo Ming lightly said, "You cannot interfere in this matter. Otherwise, none of you will be able to leave today. I'm not joking; I hope you take this seriously."
The meaning was clear: this is my territory, and if you dare to meddle, don't blame me for the consequences.
The Lion had already started to take action. After dodging the combined attack from Kenmo and Rairos, he seized the opening left by Rairos and delivered a powerful punch to his face.
After taking a solid hit from the Lion, Rairos immediately stumbled to the side, feeling a burning sensation on his cheek that felt like a humiliating mark. He could even sense that a few of his teeth had been knocked out!
"Bastard, I'll make you pay!" Kenmo shouted furiously, swinging a fist into the air before launching a kick.
The Lion remained calm, trapping Kenmo's leg with his waist. With lightning speed, he transformed his right hand into a blade and struck down while Kenmo was still off balance.
"Crack..." "Ah..."
The sound of breaking bones and the pitiful scream came almost simultaneously.
From Kenmo's twisted face, it was evident that he was in excruciating pain.
"Hmph, consider this a small lesson for you. I don't want your filthy blood to stain this place!"
As the Lion released his grip, Kenmo lost his balance and fell to the ground.
"Lion is improving more and more; he understands restraint now. Jessica has had a significant influence on him," Mo Ming nodded in satisfaction at the Lion's performance.
Before meeting Jessica, the Lion was truly just a brute with a bad temper and no cunning. But now, he knew when to hold back his anger; this progress was quite evident.
"Hehe, please take care of your underlings in the future and don’t let me have to step in again," Mo Ming said with a slight smile to Hank. "You don't mind, do you?"
Of course, Hank minded. First, he had been left aside for a long time, and then Mo Ming stepped in to teach his underling a lesson. Hank was filled with anger, but since this was Mo Ming's territory and Edith was under Mo Ming's control, he could only swallow his frustration.
"They deserve it; who told them to speak without restraint? A lesson learned will help them remember," Hank forced a smile and said, "Let's talk about today's business!"
"Business? What business?" Mo Ming feigned ignorance. "Aren't you here to have tea with me today?"
"No, we can talk about tea another day. I believe you know I'm here regarding Miss Edith. The clan leader hopes you will honor your agreement and safely return the young lady."
Hank knew Mo Ming was pretending not to understand, but he stated his purpose for being there directly.
"Oh, so you're here for Edith?" Mo Ming smiled slightly and said, "I do keep my promises, but if your young lady doesn't want to go back, there's nothing I can do."
"Are you joking? How could Miss Edith possibly not want to return with you? Hmph, that's ridiculous! Not only are you breaking your promise, but you also think you can deceive me?" Hank's expression changed immediately; after enduring so much, it turned out she wasn't going back.
Mo Ming shrugged and said, "I'm not deceiving you; this is indeed Edith's wish. Moreover, she asked me to tell you that aside from Reed coming over, she won't see anyone else. Please leave."
Mo Ming directly issued an eviction order. As for whether Hank was one of those ninjas, that was unknown. So for now, aside from Reed coming, no one else was allowed.
