Thunder rumbled!
The Thunder Kirin transformed into a Lightning Flash, shooting out wildly, behind it, countless bolts of Frenzy lightning surged forth, descending from the sky and completely engulfing the area around Chen Boyun.
The roar of the Kirin, the booming sound of the Frenzy lightning, and faintly, the piercing screams of Chen Boyun all intertwined violently before Fang Chen's eyes.

This pitch-black figure, resembling charred remains and now unrecognizable, was naturally Chen Boyun. Therefore, upon realizing this, Fang Chen instantly understood the situation. Even if Chen Boyun's Golden Cicada's Shedding Technique had been perfect before, if he had taken the Qilin Egg with him, it would have been sensed by the Thunder Kirin in that very first moment.
Thus, during his escape, he did not carry the Qilin Egg with him but instead left it within the Black Mountain. This was also why the Thunder Kirin had been guarding the Black Mountain until the moment it exposed Chen Boyun's whereabouts before finally taking action.

Thunder Kirin let out a low growl. Its enormous eyes sparkled with a chilling crimson light, and an overwhelming killing intent surged from its body, causing the already low temperature in the cave to drop even further. It fixed its gaze intently on the Qilin Egg floating on the surface of the pool, its expression increasingly filled with heartache.
The originally pure purple surface of the Qilin Egg had inexplicably developed intersecting black patterns. These black patterns seemed almost alive, constantly shifting on the Qilin Egg and emanating an oppressive chill.
"Dark Moon Water!"
The voice of Fang Chen echoed beside Thunder Kirin. Looking at the pitch-black pool before him, his pupils slightly constricted. At that moment, he finally understood why Thunder Kirin had roared in anger and despair earlier.
