The number of Qin Army soldiers supporting the city wall was limited, and their initial charge did not yield significant results. As their momentum began to wane, the Wei Army seized the opportunity to push forward and nearly captured the entrance to the lower city road. The key to breaching the city lay in securing this road; once occupied, they could subsequently attack the East City Gate. 0

The fiercely resisting Qin Army was suddenly pushed back in two waves: one team retreated along the wall towards the old tower site, while another was pinned down at the entrance of the city road. The Soldiers retreating towards the city gate found themselves being forced back repeatedly, but they also realized a critical problem. 0

The collapsed eastern gate tower was primarily made of wood and stone, exposing a large amount of damaged timber that was now ignited by torches thrown by the Wei Army. The resulting blaze quickly engulfed the entire area above the East City Gate. The Qin Soldiers at the back could feel the heat from the flames scorching their backs, loudly warning those in front that they could not stop their retreat. 0

The intention of the Wei Soldiers was now quite clear: they aimed to drive all of this group of Qin Army soldiers into the sea of flames. In a battle characterized by crowding, if even one person caught fire, it would immediately ignite the clothing of other Qin Soldiers packed together. 0

Among those trapped in the retreating crowd, Luzi recognized that things were dire. He deflected an incoming arrow with his sword and shouted to his fellow Soldiers: "Brothers! Behind us is a sea of fire! Retreating means death by flames! We can't fall back any further! Killing one is breaking even; killing two is profit! Charge!" 0

With death looming from both fire and enemy blades, they had no choice but to fight back. Having given up on any hope of survival, the Qin Soldiers raised their weapons and pressed forward. Their resolve turned the tide, forcing the determined Wei Army to retreat under pressure. 0

As he looked back at the burning wood, an idea struck Luzi. He called out to his fellow Soldiers behind him to gather materials, disregarding his singed flesh as he hurled burning timber towards their foes. 0

The city wall was already overcrowded; people could only watch helplessly as flaming logs flew toward them with nowhere to escape. As flames ignited hair and clothing, more and more individuals caught fire, screaming as they stumbled through the crowd. When temperatures reached their ignition point, even the leather armor worn by the Soldiers began to burn. 0

The wind fueled the flames, and suddenly everything around darkened as a brilliant flash lit up the area. With a loud bang, it seemed as though the entire city wall was ablaze. The soldiers on both sides were too preoccupied with extinguishing fires and preventing burning comrades from rushing into the crowd to continue fighting. It was said that water and fire are merciless; at that moment, the City Wall resembled a hell on earth. 0

Wei Wujie, witnessing soldiers falling from the wall amidst smoke and flames, wanted to shout for his comrades to stabilize their formation and control the fire. Before he could utter a word, he noticed a flash of Silver Light. He quickly raised his shield to block it, only to hear a loud thud as something hard struck his shield. The rebound force was tremendous, sending a shiny egg-sized object flying into the crowd ahead. 0

"Boom!" 0

A dazzling bolt of lightning suddenly illuminated the City Wall, brightening everything around as if it were daytime. The white light had hints of yellow; it suddenly contracted before expanding into a massive fireball. A gust of wind swept through, scattering people on the wall and sending dozens flying off into space. 0

Wei Wujie, who had originally planned to persist, was not spared either; his shield was blown away by the wind to an unknown location. He managed to stabilize himself but suddenly realized he could see nothing. Whether his ears were deafened or for some other reason, he could hear absolutely nothing. 0

In this situation of being both sightless and soundless, Wei Wujie on the city wall became flustered. He felt his way to the edge of the wall and then stepped into thin air, tumbling down the ladder... 0

The General had fled; what was there left to fight for!? Someone shouted loudly to retreat! This gave the still bewildered Soldiers a glimmer of hope as they stumbled down the city wall, helping each other escape in a chaotic rush. 0

The Qin Army had a secret weapon! They had summoned the Thunder God and Wind Master! As rumors spread like a plague among Wei's forces, the siege troops, now devoid of fighting spirit, fled in disarray. When the Wei Army camp received news of the rout, they quickly hung up the peace banner and refused to engage in battle again. 0

If they had known this would be the outcome, they should have used it earlier! Luzi looked at the city wall piled high with the bodies of the fallen and couldn't help but shake his head with a bitter smile. The saying that war technology is the primary productivity on the battlefield turned out to be true! 0

"Reinforce the walls! Stay alert for enemy movements! Light fires..." Finally able to catch his breath, Li Xin arrived and was about to remind the Soldiers not to rest yet when he saw a raging fire erupting at the watchtower. Forget it! What good is lighting torches now when there's nothing visible around!? 0

"Stay vigilant!" 0

After loudly reminding everyone, Luzi sat down on the ground without even thinking about finding a clean spot to rest. He looked down at his scarred longsword and heard a heavy sigh from deep within. Was it the sword sighing? Or was it himself!? 0

Li Xin approached Luzi, holding his longsword, and looked down at the general whose armor was already soaked with red liquid and formed into black scabs. He hurriedly sheathed his sword and squatted down to check if Luzi was injured. The examination yielded optimistic results; there were no serious injuries, so he sat down to catch his breath. 0

"The weapons from Ji Xi's family are truly formidable! We paid such a heavy price but still achieved less than what a single Thunderbolt can do! Is this all we need? It seems our proud Arrow Formation should retire as well!" 0

Luzi really had no strength left for jokes and could only shake his head at such self-destructive thoughts. Thankfully, this Thunderbolt wasn't meant for setting fires; otherwise, even more lives would have been lost! Just as this thought arose, Luzi quickly shook his head to dismiss it. 0

Mercy!? Was it necessary to sacrifice more of their own lives in exchange for such a price!? If that were truly the case, then it was better not to have it at all! 0

Li Xin took the General's Sword from Luzi's hands and sighed at the gap above. This sword was completely ruined! Just as he was about to take off his own Sword to give it to Luzi, he saw Luzi shake his head, indicating that a swap was unnecessary. 0

"This is a testament to history! Let's not change it, shall we?" 0

Upon hearing the general speak, Li Xin nodded in understanding. He sheathed the General's Sword and intended to get up and help the Soldiers clean the battlefield. He knew that they were now at their limit and if they didn't quickly reinforce the city defenses, they wouldn't be able to hold out for even a moment longer. 0

Luzi waved his hand. "Heavenly Compassion, your brothers' determination! Wei Wujie won't be coming back, at least not tonight. Inform everyone to rest in place; just take turns on duty!" 0
