Inspecting the South City Wall's fortifications, Li Xin confirmed whether the watchtowers were intact. He was perplexed by Luzi's decision to change the guard. With the East City Wall already in ruins, why would those fake Zhao Army troops from the Wei Kingdom choose to attack elsewhere? The remaining two hundred people in the city were not enough to withstand a single assault.
But orders were orders; as a subordinate, he had no choice but to obey. It wasn't just a matter of moving the defense from the east gate to the south gate; even if they were ordered to attack the Wei Army camp tonight, there would be no discussion—it was a must.
However, that said, the cannon fire earlier in the afternoon had indeed been powerful. He had thought they would never see the moon tonight. But they also had catapults! After suffering such a significant loss, it was certain they would want to retaliate tomorrow.
Would there be mutual fire tomorrow? Or should they withdraw from their original position tonight? It seemed he needed to consult with the general! Sigh! This man hadn't eaten anything all afternoon! If this continued for another two days, would there even be a need to fight? They would starve!

The City Patrol Guard saw Li Xin walking with his head down and quickly lined up on both sides to clear the path.

"Chang Yu!? Where have you been lately?" Li Xin approached and, using the torchlight, recognized his old acquaintance, feeling a mix of surprise and nostalgia at seeing him here.
"Greetings, General Li!" Chang Yu bowed respectfully and then pulled Li Xin aside to a secluded spot. "It's complicated! When I have a chance, I will report back to you. Right now, there's something unusual outside the city; I hope you can help find General Lu."
Since the Wei Army was driven out of their position by a fierce fire attack, Luzi had not returned to his general's residence. After greeting Li Xin, he had sneaked off to chat with the unconscious Dong Qing. It's no wonder Chang Yu couldn't find him; only Li Xin and a few others knew Luzi's whereabouts.
Seeing Chang Yu drenched in sweat made Li Xin's heart skip a beat. Was there movement from the Wei Army outside? Or were they preparing for a nighttime siege? Thoughts aside, he understood what an urgent military situation meant. He called over some soldiers to bring their horses and then jumped onto his steed, leading Chang Yu hurriedly toward the only pharmacy in the city. The two rushed into the back courtyard of the pharmacy and found that the general was indeed there.
Luzi sat quietly beside Dong Qing's sickbed, talking to him despite Dong Qing's clenched jaw. Whether Dong Qing could hear him or not didn't concern Luzi; he just wanted someone to talk to in order to keep his mind occupied and avoid dwelling on what had happened that afternoon.
Luzi did not want to send anyone to take the severely injured Dong Qing out of the city, but the Wei Kingdom people outside would not agree. If you want to leave, then abandon the city! As long as you give up Wild King City, you can go wherever you like! We will not stop you!
This was just one of the reasons why they could not leave the city. The accompanying Surgeon had already informed the acting general about the condition of the severely wounded. It was actually a miracle that Doctor Dong was still alive at this moment. Because of this, moving the Wounded or subjecting them to travel was strictly prohibited. If they insisted on doing so, the consequences could be unimaginable. Perhaps before reaching their destination, something terrible might happen.
Lu Zizheng mumbled to himself when he heard familiar footsteps outside the door. He then got up to remind Doctor Dong to rest and recuperate, stating that as long as there were brothers in Wild King City, the city would remain! After saying this, he walked into the courtyard and signaled Li Xin and Chang Yu to be quiet.
The three of them walked together to the front hall, and Luzi finally asked, “Chang Yu! Why are you back instead of staying well outside?”
After arriving at Wild King City and confirming that there might be issues in Shangdang Region, Luzi immediately ordered Chang Yu to gather information about the movements of the Feudal States outside. There always needed to be a lead to solve problems; it was definitely not good for everyone to be kept in the dark. Although it was later confirmed that the attacking forces against Wild King City were not from Zhao Army, by that time Chang Yu had already been dispatched on his mission.
Receiving a secret mission, Chang Yu left the city that same night and safely slipped out of the encircled Wei Army camp around Wild King City. He notified the brothers outside to implement their tasks immediately but heard some bad news. Thus, he hurried back while searching along the way and eventually found the answers he wanted on his return journey. He then rushed back into Wild King City under the cover of night.
“General! Bad news! The Wei troops have already entered our borders with a force of at least twenty thousand! Their destination is basically clear: they are here to support the Zhao Army siege forces outside the city!”
Luzi looked at Li Xin and smiled, “The siege forces outside are not from Zhao Army; they are also Wei troops!”
“Ah!?”
Hearing this answer shocked Chang Yu greatly. He had crossed through the Outside camp both ways but had not noticed any signs of this. All along, they had actually been fighting against Wei Army!
Li Xin saw Chang Yu standing there with his mouth agape and shook his head with a smile. “What are you afraid of!? One is a fight; two is still a fight! Why not just have them all come over? It saves us from having to search all over for them for a decisive battle!”
Hearing such confident words, Chang Yu excitedly agreed that this was indeed the case. His original worries were instantly cast aside, and he quickly stated that since they were delivering themselves right to their doorstep, they should seize the opportunity and take them all down at once. “General Li is absolutely right! I was thinking the same thing! Have our reinforcements arrived? There should be at least several thousand!”
Luzi looked at the excited young man and sighed, "Young man! You're too happy too soon! Right now, in the city, it's hard to gather even a few hundred people, let alone tens of thousands!"
Li Xin, ignoring the dazed individual, added with embellishment, "The general is right; there are only a few hundred people in the city. So your worries are unnecessary! Even if the Wei Kingdom hasn't sent the reinforcements you've discovered, the Wei Army outside the city can capture it as easily as taking something from a pocket."
After leaving Wild King City, Chang Yu had always believed that his reinforcements would arrive shortly. From any perspective, Wild King City was a strategic location. Moreover, it was the main Supply Depot for the Qin Army, so it wouldn't be underestimated by anyone. His hurried return aimed to inform the garrison to prepare in advance; after all, the appearance of the Wei Army near Shangdang was not a good sign. Furthermore, this siege was led by the Wei-Zhao Alliance, which required mental preparation for battle.
Are we planning to fight a one-to-one hundred battle!? My goodness! Is there even a need to fight this war!?
Chang Yu raised his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead and swallowed hard. "More trouble is coming! The Wei Army reinforcements will arrive tonight at midnight! Should we retreat!?"
