As this is an entertainment venue, the room was prepared with a songstress band. After consulting with the two, Luzi rewarded them and sent them away. The three of them just wanted to drink without distractions.
Chang Yu had been in Qi State's capital for quite some time and had even gotten used to drinking from wine cups. Now that he was switched to a ceramic bowl by Lu Ziran, he suddenly felt an urge to confront barbarians. However, after downing several bowls of wine, he soon forgot what refined tastes were. Seeing Li Xin also getting red-faced from drinking, he went over to ask General Li if he wasn't able to handle alcohol.
Li Xin's response was surprisingly that seeing their leader so gloomy made him feel compelled to join in!
As the three were drinking, they suddenly heard mocking voices from the next room coming from a waiter. Anyone who could afford to drink in this establishment was certainly not ordinary people, so they ignored it. However, as the argument outside grew louder, it completely ruined their newfound drinking mood.
Noticing Luzi's displeased expression, Li Xin grabbed his bowl of wine intending to throw it out as a warning for those outside to be quiet. Just as he was about to act, Chang Yu stood up and gestured for him to stop. This establishment had connections with royal relatives; those causing trouble here were definitely not ordinary folks. Besides, they were merely passing through and didn't need to get into conflicts with them.
Luzi maintained his composure; otherwise, he would have sent Li Xin out long ago to see what was happening outside. Seeing Chang Yu stop Li Xin from acting rashly, he nodded in agreement for Chang Yu to go out and tell those outside to quiet down.
What neither of them expected was that Chang Yu did not return after going out; instead, the arguing grew even louder! Having spent time in the military had made him more irritable due to the environment. Luzi reached for his sword and led a restless Li Xin outside to check on the situation.
The atmosphere these days is no longer what it used to be; wealth allows one to act like a lord. As long as you don't kill someone without reason, money can settle almost anything. As for duels or contests of skill, agreements made regarding life and death are also protected by law.
Accompanying Luzi, Li Xin was completely unconcerned about anyone else, his anger boiling over. He was ready to fight; if trouble came knocking, he wouldn't let the opportunity slip by.
In the crowd, Chang Yu heard commotion behind him and turned to see a man with murderous intent following Big Shopkeeper. He quickly squeezed through the crowd to explain the situation. He didn't want any major incidents today, especially given Big Shopkeeper's status. If things escalated, even if they managed to fix it later, they would still be the subject of ridicule.
The situation was as follows: someone from next door had come in pretending to be wealthy and intended to dine and dash. After enjoying their meal, they tried to leave without paying. The Tavern was not a charity and certainly wouldn't let that person go. As both parties became entangled, an argument ensued. The Tavern was preparing to report the incident when they intervened.
Standing behind Luzi, Li Xin clearly heard Chuchu and shouted into the crowd, "If you don't have any money, why are you acting so high and mighty? There are plenty of Taverns outside; can't you just go there and drink?"
Anyone who came here to drink was certainly of a distinguished status. The Tavern didn't want to get involved in disputes since they relied on repeat customers for business. If they offended one person today and another tomorrow, it wouldn't be long before they were left with no patrons. Hearing a customer speak up for justice, everyone else fell silent, eager to hear what would happen next.
"Who is this fool making noise? Why should I pay when he waters down my drink?"
Upon hearing the rough shout from the crowd, Li Xin immediately recognized it as the ruffian cursing at him. Deciding not to waste any more time, he stepped forward but was stopped by Luzi's hand.
As someone began cursing loudly, the Shop Assistant quickly cleared a path for the loudmouth so that customers could identify their target. This was no joke! If misunderstandings arose and they offended a generous patron, they might have to pack up and leave tomorrow!
As the crowd parted, Luzi sharply inhaled. He coughed twice to cover his surprise and then called over the Tavern Manager to address the issue. "I sincerely apologize! This is a long-lost relative of mine who has caused some trouble; I hope the Innkeeper won't hold it against us." As he spoke, he noticed the Manager's troubled expression. "How about this? I'll cover his food and drink! If anything in the room has been damaged by him, please verify the costs with me. We can settle everything together!"
Businesspeople are always looking to profit; since someone was willing to pay for the trouble caused, it was a win-win situation. The Manager expressed gratitude but mentioned that this matter still required approval from their Keeper. Until Big Shopkeeper consented, this troublemaker couldn't leave just yet. The younger staff were working hard to make a living and hoped that patrons could understand their predicament.
Of course! Since the problem had been satisfactorily resolved, there would be no major issues!
Hearing this, Luzi quickly agreed that their request was quite reasonable. After all, it was his relative who had caused the disturbance; he asked the Innkeeper for some leniency in words. After saying this, he discreetly accepted Silver Coins from Chang Yu and slipped them into the Manager's hands.
Silver Coins emit an enticing glow under the light, and this is the Silver Light sparkling currency!
The hotel Manager was instantly beaming with joy, repeatedly stating that anything could be discussed. As he took his leave, he waved his hand to dismiss all the staff. Approaching the burly man who had caused the disturbance earlier, he performed a bow as an apology for the earlier unpleasantness.
The troublemaker was clearly not simple-minded; upon receiving the apology, he no longer pressed the issue of water being mixed into the wine. He had come for free food and drink, and with his goal achieved, he decided not to cause further trouble.
Once there were no other people in the corridor on the third floor, this burly man strode up to Luzi and bowed deeply. "I am Feng Quji! Thank you, good sir, for your timely intervention!"
Luzi hurried over to support him and quietly asked if he would like to go to a room to drink together. There was nothing else inside, but there was plenty of alcohol!
