Zong Nan and Cheng Ze were unaware of each other's thoughts and felt a sense of fear towards the long corridor, so they naturally did not oppose it.
"I'll do it!" Cheng Ze took out the Crimson Flame Twin Blades. With his Vital Energy activated, the twin blades shone brightly like fire as he struck fiercely against the left wall.

Stone Sculpture lifelike, resembling humans but with bat-like wings and a pair of sharp horns on their heads, along with a long tail curling behind them. However, they still dared not let their guard down, as this was the Underground Palace once inhabited by Ancient Humanity. Who knew if these Stone Sculptures could truly come to life?
Suddenly, strange sounds came from behind them, resembling a woman's scream mixed with the roar of some beast, filled with a terrifying aura that sent chills down their spines.
"What kind of hellish place is this!" Huang Ge shouted angrily, on the verge of breaking down.
"Don't move! We might have triggered some kind of Restriction!" Huang Yao warned in a low voice.
As if to validate Huang Yao's concern, a chilling presence surged toward them from behind.
Turning around, everyone was taken aback to see flames floating in mid-air, drifting in from the corridor behind them. They looked just like Ghost Fire, emitting an eerie glow.
"It seems to be Netherfire. Whatever you do, don't let it touch you; otherwise, you're as good as dead!" Huang Yao shouted.
"How can there be such things here? Isn't Netherfire formed from the souls of the dead?" Zong Nan trembled as he spoke.
"Of course! This is the Ancient Underground Ruins. Countless Ancient Humanity perished here; how could there not be Vengeful Spirits? Damn it! How did they get here? Did we really trigger some ridiculous Restriction?" Huang Yao regretted his choices. Had he known it would lead to this situation, he would have preferred to keep moving forward; perhaps they would have found an exit.
"The path ahead is blocked by the statues. What should we do? Don't these Netherfire have any weaknesses?" Cheng Ze was astonished that Vengeful Spirits and Ghost Fire truly existed and didn't know what to do next.
"Generally speaking, Fire Elemental Energy can counter evil entities. However, since they are flames themselves, only Fire Element True Essence might be able to extinguish them. Otherwise, only a lightning-based Supreme Technique poses a threat to them. Ordinary Martial Techniques can't harm them at all. Once entangled by them, there's no way to resist; even your Divine Soul could be eroded!" Huang Yao said with a pale face.
Upon hearing this, despair filled everyone's hearts because none of the four present practiced a lightning-based Supreme Technique.
"Forget it, smash those statues and keep running forward!" Huang Ge shouted, but just as he was about to make a move, an unexpected change occurred.
"Oh no, all those statues have come to life!" His hands, gripping the Azure Wind Dagger, trembled slightly. He had just unleashed a blade of wind, only to find that the statues blocking their path were as indestructible as the walls on either side. Upon closer inspection, the eyes of the half-human, half-beast Stone Sculptures glimmered with a faint golden light, and the massive bat-like wings began to flap slowly.
Crackling sounds echoed as all the stone statues broke free from their pedestals and began to float up into the corridor.
"Wow, so many Ghost Fires!" The number of Ghost Fires behind the four suddenly increased, densely floating in midair and stretching all the way to the end of the corridor.
On one side were the animated stone statues, and on the other was the terrifying Netherfire. Huang Yao and the others were completely dumbfounded, momentarily forgetting to resist as they huddled closer together.
"Hiss!" The sound of burning Netherfire was like a snake hissing, sending chills down their spines. Just when everyone thought their lives were in danger, the large humanoid Stone Sculptures hovering above finally moved.
To their surprise, the Stone Sculptures did not come towards them but instead soared over their heads, charging straight at the Netherfire on the other side.
Countless Netherfires began to twist and morph; some transformed into firebirds that darted toward a humanoid Stone Sculpture, while others took on the appearance of tigers and leopards, baring their teeth and lunging at the wings of the Stone Sculpture from behind.
Faced with this counterattack from Netherfire, the humanoid Stone Sculptures roared in unison. The golden light in their pupils grew brighter and spread throughout their bodies until it formed a layer of golden armor covering each statue.
The Netherfire that had been fiercely biting at the Humanoid Statue let out a mournful cry, seemingly intimidated by the golden armor. Its flames flickered erratically before gradually dimming.
The leading Humanoid Statue emitted a sound resembling a cold laugh. With a flash of golden light in its eyes, it condensed into a Golden Longsword and swung it at the Netherfire that had taken on a tiger-leopard form and was continuously biting at it.

It was as if hot coals had fallen onto ice, and a large amount of white light surged from Netherfire, which seemed impossible to destroy. However, it was cleaved in two by the Golden Longsword.
"How is this possible? What is the golden light in the eyes of these statues? Could it be Vital Energy?" Huang Yao was completely stunned; what he was witnessing had surpassed his understanding.

When one group of Netherfire was defeated by a Humanoid Statue, the Netherfire behind did not retreat but instead retaliated wildly, showing no signs of fear.
The Humanoid Statues were the same; both sides were on the verge of conflict and immediately began a fierce battle.
Fortunately, the battlefield took place high above in the corridor, which did not affect Huang Yao and the others. The corridor was hundreds of meters high, providing ample space for them to avoid the aftermath of the fight.
Even so, danger still loomed because the size of the Humanoid Statues was enormous, comparable to what they had speculated about ancient giants. With their Golden Longswords swinging widely, they quickly enveloped the entire area.
Huang Yao and his companions had nowhere to escape and could only huddle in place, trying to stay as far away from the battle as possible while secretly observing the situation.
The combat power of the Humanoid Statues was formidable, but there were countless Netherfire. After a fierce struggle, the Netherfire gradually gained the upper hand.
They charged forward one after another, continuously striking at the golden armor of the Humanoid Statues until its luster dimmed and eventually shattered. Then, the transformed beasts created from Netherfire began to bite and scorch the bodies of the Humanoid Statues.
A seemingly indestructible Humanoid Statue gradually struggled to hold on and was ultimately torn apart by dozens of Netherfire, its golden light flickering out and turning into large chunks of rubble that fell down like rain.
Roar! The Humanoid Statues finally became enraged. From the eyes of more than ten Humanoid Statues, over twenty golden beams suddenly shot out, all aimed at one particular statue.
Moments later, the Humanoid Statue surged with power, its entire body enveloped in golden light, resembling a sun god. It let out a roar and raised the enormous sword, several meters long, high above its head before striking down fiercely!
Boom!
The violent golden light burst forth like waves, seemingly intent on tearing apart the entire space.
A large number of Netherfire were swept away by the golden light emitted from the giant sword, exploding into ashes.
The battle intensified, leaving Huang Yao and the others horrified. The Humanoid Statue exhibited exceptional combat capabilities, with its golden light being particularly effective against Netherfire. However, the sheer number of Netherfire was overwhelming. Despite the Humanoid Statue annihilating countless Netherfire, it still struggled to hold its ground as statues were torn apart by beasts formed from Netherfire, turning into countless particles that floated throughout the corridor.
"Run! The statues can't hold them off any longer!" Huang Yao finally reacted. With the significant reduction in both the Humanoid Statues and Netherfire, they had finally found an opportunity to escape.
Four figures darted out; Huang Yao and Huang Ge were the fastest, rushing ahead and running forward without looking back.
Zong Nan and Cheng Ze lagged slightly as they needed to take care of Ye Feng but managed to escape from the battlefield as well.
Just as the four were secretly relieved, Huang Yao and Huang Ge, who were at the front, suddenly stopped in their tracks, their expressions turning extremely strange.
"Why aren't you moving?"
"You'll see for yourself."
Looking up, Zong Nan's heart sank.
Not far ahead, vast expanses of Netherfire still hovered in mid-air, blocking all paths forward.
The sounds of fighting, which had originally come from behind, now echoed from the front.
"This corridor really is haunted. We were clearly running forward, yet somehow we ended up behind these Netherfires!" Zong Nan said with a bitter smile, realizing that they had indeed been treading water for the past three hours.
The dozen or so Netherfires that lingered at the back seemed to have noticed Huang Yao and the others, slowly drifting closer as they floated up and down.
"Damn it, I refuse to believe this! Fire Cloud Slash!"
A large mass of fire clouds transformed into Blade Qi, shooting out from Cheng Ze's Crimson Flame Blade.
