Sometimes the world is just that small. Chen Haoxuan's mother, Li Xin, happened to return from grocery shopping and coincidentally saw Chen Haoxuan and Chen Yina playfully tugging at each other. She coldly remarked, "Xuan, it seems like you're doing well! You've even found a girlfriend. When are you getting married?"
Chen Haoxuan, seeing a flamboyantly dressed middle-aged woman speaking to him, did not realize that she was his biological mother. He turned to Chen Yina and whispered, "Nana, who is that woman?"

"This is ridiculous! I look so handsome, while she has thin eyebrows, small eyes, a big nose, and thick lips. How can I possibly be her child? Nana, do you think I was adopted?" Chen Haoxuan questioned seriously.
"I... I don't know. Maybe we should go back and ask my parents; they might know," Chen Yina suggested.
"Okay, let's go." Chen Haoxuan grabbed Chen Yina's hand and was about to leave when a furious shout came from behind.
"Chen Haoxuan, stop right there!" A burly man with a fierce expression pointed at Chen Haoxuan and shouted.
Chen Haoxuan turned around and quietly asked Chen Yina, "Nana, this must be my brother, right?" Looking at his muscular brother, Chen Haoxuan felt even more certain of his earlier suspicion that they were not his real family.
"Yes, that's your brother Chen Haorong. Brother Xuan, we should leave quickly! Your brother is very fierce; he used to beat you often. Let's hurry!" Chen Yina urged anxiously.
Chen Haoxuan patted Chen Yina and smiled, saying, "Nana, don't worry. Even if he tries to hit me, I'm not afraid of him because I can handle someone like him in no time."
"Hey, are you mute or stupid? I'm talking to you!" Chen Haorong angrily said to Chen Haoxuan.
"Yeah, I'm listening! What do you want to say to me?" Chen Haoxuan replied with a light smile.
"Mom just told me that you didn't greet her when you saw her. She said hello to you, and you pretended not to know her. You need to come over here and apologize to Mom verbally, or else I'll take care of you today," Chen Haorong shouted.
Chen Haoxuan didn't want to engage in this foolishness with Chen Haorong. He asked, "You're my mom, right? Am I really your son? If I am, why have you treated me so poorly? You abandoned me before I even entered society. The most suspicious thing is why I don't look anything like you. And you, you're my brother, right? Is this how a brother behaves? Not only do you not protect your younger brother, but you also want to hit him? Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning?"
Li Xin listened to Chen Haoxuan's words and seemed very nervous. She said to her eldest son, Chen Haorong, "Ah Rong, help me deal with this unfilial child. How dare he say he's not my son? It's too outrageous."
Actually, Chen Haoxuan was born to Li Xin, but she didn't know who the father was. Li Xin used to be a hostess, and it was normal for her to sleep with men. Chen Haoxuan's suspicions matched those of his father, Chen Zhenghao, and his brother, Chen Haorong. Chen Zhenghao believed that Chen Haoxuan was not his son and had disliked him since childhood. Meanwhile, his brother had been jealous of how good-looking Chen Haoxuan was since they were young and also hated him for it.
Chen Haorong dropped out of school after middle school—not because he couldn't study but because he simply lacked talent. He started working and a few years later brought a woman home to marry. Afterward, he opened a small business in Pingyuan County and made quite a bit of money. With money for cars and houses, he proposed separating from Chen Haoxuan so he wouldn't have to be jealous of his good looks anymore.
Li Xin also knew that her husband had always suspected whether Chen Haoxuan was really his son. She feared being scolded by him, so she avoided seeing Chen Haoxuan whenever possible. It seemed their family wanted to completely forget about him.
Upon hearing Li Xin's words, Chen Haorong really went after Chen Haoxuan. In his heart, Chen Haoxuan thought, "It's better not to have such family ties!"
As Chen Haorong approached him, Chen Haoxuan suddenly squatted down and picked up a brick from the roadside. He then slowly stood up and coldly said to Chen Haorong, "Come closer; let's see whether your head is harder or my brick."
"Chen Haoxuan, I'm your brother! How can you think of hitting me with a brick? Do you even see me as your brother? You should know that your ability to attend university depended on the money I earned from working for your tuition; otherwise, would you have achieved what you have now?" Chen Haorong stopped in his tracks as he seemed quite afraid of what Chen Haoxuan might do with the brick.
"You want to hit your own younger brother, so why can't I hit my older brother?" Chen Haoxuan sneered.
"Alright, alright, you're really something. Just wait for me," Chen Haorong coldly replied to Chen Haoxuan. He didn't have the guts to confront Chen Haoxuan, who was holding a brick, but he had the courage to ask others to deal with him since he had plenty of money.
"Chen Haoxuan, from now on, you are no longer my mother. We have nothing to do with each other. Don't come to me for anything in the future, hmph." After scolding him, Li Xin turned and entered her luxurious home.
Chen Haoxuan threw the brick in his hand and cursed, "Damn, what kind of family is this? They hate me more than enemies. And now I'm no longer your son? I doubt someone like you could give birth to someone as outstanding as me."
"Brother Xuan, don't be angry. Your family is just like that. Let's go home!" Chen Yina advised.
After returning to Chen Yina's house, Chen Haoxuan really asked her mother, Li Ping. Li Ping knew some things about Li Xin and told Chen Haoxuan that Li Xin used to work as a hostess and often mingled outside; this was something many people in Chen Family Village knew.
Now Chen Haoxuan understood. He felt embarrassed about his background; having such a mother was a disgrace. If it were due to life's hardships, there would be no complaints, but if you have food and clothing and are not at the end of your rope, yet you go out every day to entertain others or sleep around, that can only be described as "cheap."
Chen Haoxuan inadvertently noticed that both Li Ping and Chen Feng were barefoot and had a lot of mud on their feet. So he joked, "You have so much mud on your feet! Did you go catch loaches? Why didn’t you invite me for such an interesting activity?"
