"Burn it down. I'll build him a new house; I think he would love that," Chen Haoxuan said with a wicked smile.
"Ugh..." Li De was once again speechless. He thought to himself, "Rich people are just different; they can solve many problems by throwing money at them, making unreasonable things seem reasonable."
Inside the house, Black Heart heard Chen Haoxuan's words and was so furious that he almost impulsively ran out to kill him. Fortunately, he managed to hold himself back; otherwise, he could have easily been captured or shot by Chen Haoxuan and his group.
Seeing the people in the living room of the Tile House, Black Heart cautiously stepped outside. From the window of the living room, he saw Chen Haoxuan loudly cursing at him, threatening and humiliating him. Unable to contain himself any longer, he suddenly stood up and quickly aimed at Chen Haoxuan's position, repeatedly pulling the trigger. Bang bang bang... He fired until the magazine was empty before stopping.
Chen Haoxuan and his group were caught off guard. When they saw Black Heart suddenly appear at the window and open fire on them, they immediately sought cover. Chen Haoxuan dropped to the ground and rolled quickly to the right.
Aside from getting his clothes dirty from rolling on the ground, Chen Haoxuan was unharmed. The other police officers were not so lucky; the unluckiest was Li De, who happened to be standing next to Chen Haoxuan! His slow reaction meant that if Chen Haoxuan hadn't pushed him down just in time, he might have been shot dead by Black Heart's wild gunfire. Although Chen Haoxuan managed to push Li De away in time, Li De still got hit in the leg by a bullet.
Of the other four police officers, two sustained minor injuries from bullets grazing their skin—much better luck than Li De.
Chen Haoxuan got up from the ground and shouted angrily at the Tile House, "Damn you! If you want my life, I'll make sure to take you down with me." Turning to Li De, he said, "Send someone to get some firewood from the villagers and a few buckets of water. I'm going to smoke that bastard Black Heart out."
"Go! You two get it done while the rest of us continue guarding against Black Heart," Li De yelled at his subordinates. He was also furious; after all, he had been standing next to Chen Haoxuan when Black Heart randomly shot him in the leg. How could he not be angry? If it weren't for worrying about upsetting Chen Haoxuan, he would have shouted at Black Heart, "You aimed at Chen Haoxuan! Why did you shoot me?"
Chen Haoxuan also went to help those two police officers find firewood. Having lived there before, he knew most of the villagers well. When he approached them to buy firewood and buckets of water, they were very accommodating and let him take what he needed without charging him any money. The villagers only asked that Chen Haoxuan capture those bad guys led by Black Heart.
Chen Haoxuan instructed the two police officers to pile up the firewood and then set it ablaze. Once a roaring fire erupted, he told them, "Throw this burning wood into the Tile House and burn him alive."
Whoosh... Burning sticks flew into the Tile House. Inside, Black Heart was suddenly frantic; he never expected that Chen Haoxuan would really dare to set him on fire.
"I can't just burn to death like this. I need to go out and fight them. Even if I die, it's better than waiting here to die," Hei Xin muttered to himself.
Hei Xin changed the magazine and then charged outside, firing his gun as he ran.
Li De and the others also opened fire; the sound of seven handguns firing simultaneously was louder than a machine gun. They were all hiding in the corners, kneeling on one knee, shooting at Hei Xin. However, Hei Xin was not interested in fighting; he just wanted to escape the police's encirclement, so he didn't bother aiming at Li De and his team.
Chen Haoxuan had no gun, so he hid behind Li De. He saw the five of them continuously firing but failing to hit Hei Xin, which made Chen Haoxuan's face darken. He thought to himself, "These cops really can't shoot."
This wasn't entirely their fault; as police officers, they typically didn't use guns when apprehending criminals. If they needed firearms, they would usually call in the SWAT team or special forces. As a result, their shooting skills had deteriorated, and they were becoming increasingly unfamiliar with their weapons.
If this continued, Hei Xin would surely escape. Chen Haoxuan had to take action. He swung the dagger in his hand forcefully, sending it flying like a silver flash toward Hei Xin's back.
When the dagger embedded itself in Hei Xin's back, it made no sound. However, Hei Xin let out a miserable cry: "Ah..." He stopped in his tracks, kneeling on the ground with both hands bracing himself. The pain in his back was excruciating. It wasn't that he didn't want to escape; it was that the dagger had penetrated deeply into his back, and any movement would send waves of unbearable pain coursing through him.
Seeing the handle of the dagger sticking out of Hei Xin's back, Li De felt both awkward and shocked. "This... this is too accurate!" They were five people armed with guns who had fired countless rounds but couldn't touch Hei Xin at all. It was as if he had a protective charm that made bullets veer away from him. Yet Chen Haoxuan managed to subdue him with just a dagger, leaving those with firearms feeling helpless.
"Quickly capture him," Li De shouted to his subordinates.
"Wait! He still has a gun; everyone be careful," Chen Haoxuan warned loudly to several officers who were about to rush in to apprehend Hei Xin.
"Heixin, you have nowhere to run now. Surrender and drop your handgun," Li De yelled at Hei Xin while aiming his gun at him.
"I'm right here; if you have the ability, come catch me! Hahaha..." Hei Xin suddenly laughed maniacally as if he had lost his mind.
"Li De, give me the handgun. Don't worry, I won't kill him," Chen Haoxuan said to Li De.
Li De thought for a moment and ultimately handed the handgun to Chen Haoxuan. Not for any other reason, but because he didn't want to get involved in something dangerous.
Chen Haoxuan checked the magazine and found four bullets inside. Holding the handgun, he stepped closer to Black Heart.
Black Heart lowered his head and looked back, noticing that Chen Haoxuan was approaching him with a handgun. He coldly said to Chen Haoxuan, "I still have two handguns. Aren't you afraid I might suddenly shoot?"
"I'm not afraid because you no longer have the chance," Chen Haoxuan confidently replied. He knew his marksmanship; within a hundred steps, he could hit whatever he aimed at. As for speed, although it wasn't as fast as before, it was more than enough to deal with someone like Black Heart and his lackeys.
"Then go die!" Black Heart shouted, disregarding the pain in his back. He quickly lay down on his side, aiming both handguns at Chen Haoxuan.
Bang! Bang! Two gunshots rang out, and Li De cried out in terror, "Xuan!"
