As soon as he posted, someone replied, and the first person to respond was Abel. Abel replied, "A person can change. Right now, I like Chen Yina. Maybe the one who will marry you is me."
Chen Haoxuan felt a bit angry and replied to Abel, saying that even if he remained single, he would not marry her. Although Chen Haoxuan was from Future Century, he was not very open about love.
Not long after, Chen Haoxuan's phone rang. He took out his phone and saw that it was a call from Abel. Ignoring what the teacher might say or how his classmates would look at him, he grabbed his laptop and walked out of the classroom.
Once outside, Chen Haoxuan pressed the answer button on his phone and said, "Hello."
"Chen Haoxuan, did you refuse today because you don't like being constrained? Would you be willing to go to the United States to do business? I can help you become the richest person in the world. Trust me; I can do it. But there is one condition: you must settle in the United States and change your nationality to American." Abel's voice came through the phone.
"You must have some reason for wanting me to go to the United States. If you don't tell me, I won't feel at ease," Chen Haoxuan said while walking.
"Because of your talent. Even if you don't want to serve our country, doing business here can still boost our economy. So if you agree to my conditions, you will become a millionaire in just a few years."
"Sorry, I only want to be Chinese," Chen Haoxuan replied calmly.
"Chen Haoxuan, you will regret this," Abel's voice sounded angry over the phone.
"I won't regret it," Chen Haoxuan said flatly. What would he regret? If he wanted money, with his hacking skills, he could have as much as he wanted. To be precise, he preferred to take things step by step; that was how life should be enjoyed.
As soon as Chen Haoxuan finished speaking, there was a series of beeping sounds from his phone—Abel hung up.
"Americans appreciate my talent and want me to go to the United States. What about Shen Ruyan? What does she want? What about the other students who transferred here? Are they all here for me?" The more Chen Haoxuan thought about it, the more anxious he became. He only had one person; how could he compete with so many powerful supporters?
Abel was currently in a hotel near New City University, where there were four strong men from the United States with her.
"You are the best agents in the United States. There is a highly talented individual in China whose abilities are quite frightening. For the sake of our country's advanced technology and wealth, we need to eliminate him. His name is Chen Haoxuan, and you should know him. He is not only talented but also a formidable fighter. He trained his subordinates to defeat those Karate masters from Island Nation, so you must be cautious," Abel said seriously.
"Chief, since he is so talented, why don't we just kidnap him and take him to the United States? We could extract all his knowledge, which would greatly benefit our country," one of the suited foreigners suggested.
"Do you think I wouldn't want that? But can you capture him? Do you know how powerful he is? He can take on twenty opponents at once. Do you really think you can catch someone like that? If you fail and he escapes, do you know what kind of trouble that would cause? The best solution is to kill him to prevent future issues," Abel replied coldly.
The four foreign men were coaches sent by the Agent Team to assist her. They were not ordinary individuals; they were proficient with all kinds of weapons and even skilled in China's various martial arts. Whatever firearms or ammunition you presented, they could use it.
"So, Chief, when do we act?" one of the foreign men asked.
"We can't delay; it will be tonight," Abel stated coldly. Abel was frustrated because Chen Haoxuan had repeatedly rejected her. She was not an ordinary person; although she wasn't conventionally beautiful, she considered herself sexy, believing that sexiness was the true form of beauty. Yet, Chen Haoxuan still turned her down. She had tried to attract him with benefits, but he rejected her again. She was unhappy about this and had recorded their recent conversation, so she didn't worry about being reprimanded by her superior later.
Many believe that women are the gentlest beings, but sometimes the harshest can also be women, just like Abel. Wasn't it just because she was spurned that she reacted so angrily?
In the afternoon, Chen Haoxuan was once again frequently approached by transfer students. Some wanted to befriend him, some sought business collaboration, and others were curious about his secrets. Chen Haoxuan also wanted to find out more about these transfer students but unfortunately received answers that did not satisfy his curiosity.
After school in the afternoon, Chen Haoxuan did not eat at New City University; he preferred to cook for himself at home. Once back home, he prepared his meal and after eating, he spent time alone in the spacious living room playing on his computer. Chen Haoxuan was designing a web game and planned to upload it to Qianfo Stone Pagoda Website once completed. This web game was no simple task; it was as thrilling as a single-player game and consumed a lot of data for players. The more data users consumed, the more money Chen Haoxuan would earn.
This was why Chen Haoxuan put so much effort into making this web game engaging and data-intensive. In reality, he designed this game partly to pass the time; he felt lonely being home alone every day. Watching television made him nauseous due to the outdated movies, and modern games seemed childish to him with no sense of realism.
Just like in Future Century, when he worked, he lost track of time. He was completely absorbed in designing the game, oblivious to sounds outside or anything beyond his computer screen.
Around three in the morning, five shadows appeared outside Chen Haoxuan's residence. They moved silently through the night like ghosts.
As the five shadows approached Chen Haoxuan's home, they split up, seemingly intending to surround his house with just the five of them.
At the front door of Chen Haoxuan's residence, he was still asleep, engrossed in designing a game, so he hadn't fully closed the door. One shadow appeared at the entrance, and light streamed through the gap in the door, illuminating the figure. If Chen Haoxuan were to look towards the door at that moment, he would surely exclaim in surprise, "Abel."
