Abel took people to chase after Chen Haoxuan. The bloodstains on the road had disappeared, and they searched for a long time. Although New City was not very large, finding someone who was deliberately hiding from them in such a prosperous place was like searching for a needle in a haystack.
After searching for two hours without success, Abel instructed her subordinates to check nearby hospitals and small clinics to see if they could find Chen Haoxuan. If they found him, no matter what method they used, they must kill Chen Haoxuan. She returned alone to Chen Haoxuan's residence. Noticing that there were no people around Chen Haoxuan's place, she walked inside.
When she overturned the table, she picked up the laptop that had fallen to the ground. She pressed the power button and discovered that the laptop was fine and still usable. She browsed through the contents of the laptop and found many things she couldn't understand. Knowing it must be some important program, she decided to have someone take the laptop back to the United States for their computer experts to study.
She was conducting a search; she didn't take money but only strange items like mobile phones, memory cards, cameras, and notebooks.
Half an hour later, Abel walked out of Chen Haoxuan's residence carrying a large pile of items, indicating that she had made quite a haul.
Meanwhile, Chen Haoxuan was carried to a guest room by Yeh Hsiao-Nuo to sleep.
The next day, at dawn, Yeh Hsiao-Nuo got up and went to check on Chen Haoxuan without even washing her face, worried that he might have left. She entered the guest room where Chen Haoxuan was sleeping and saw him with his eyes closed, his chest rising and falling intermittently, proving he was still alive. Relieved that he was okay, she went to wash her face and brush her teeth.
Yeh Hsiao-Nuo never cooked since her debut; she had always eaten out because her personality was very boyish. She believed that those who entered the kitchen were weaklings and that someone like her, a Boss Lady, should not step into the kitchen lest she be laughed at by her subordinates. She bought some century egg congee outside and returned to the villa. After eating her fill, she poured some congee into a small bowl for Chen Haoxuan.
“Hey, are you awake? If you are, get up and have breakfast. Eating well will help you heal faster. I'm still waiting for that one hundred thousand RMB from you!” Yeh Hsiao-Nuo said as she stood by Chen Haoxuan's bed holding a bowl of congee.
Hearing her voice, Chen Haoxuan slowly woke up. Seeing Yeh Hsiao-Nuo standing beside him with a bowl, he smiled and said to her, “As long as I can move, I’ll give you one hundred thousand RMB right away.”
“Then hurry up and drink this bowl of congee,” Yeh Hsiao-Nuo replied happily. How could she not be happy when it came to money? Despite living in a villa, she was actually quite poor; the villa belonged to her father. She managed several entertainment venues and earned only a few thousand RMB each month. While this might seem like a lot to ordinary people, it felt too little for her. A few rounds of drinks or meals with her subordinates would quickly deplete that amount.
Yeh Hsiao-Nuo held out the bowl in front of Chen Haoxuan, signaling him to drink it himself. He tried hard to lift his hand but failed; he felt completely weak. Embarrassed, he said to Yeh Hsiao-Nuo, “I'm sorry; I have no strength right now. I wonder if you could feed me some congee.”
"I am the Boss Lady! Since you dared to ask me to feed you porridge, if it weren't for that one million Renminbi of yours, I would have already taken you down," Yeh Hsiao-Nuo said unhappily. Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind. This person is wealthy, so why not take advantage of the situation to make some money? She continued, "Alright! I can feed you, but you have to pay. I'll feed you a meal, and you give me ten thousand Renminbi. That's not too much, right? After all, I am the famous Boss Lady, and you're the first one to eat food fed by me."
"I'll give you twenty thousand Renminbi, just hurry up and feed me! I'm really hungry right now," Chen Haoxuan said with a bitter smile. His face was pale, clearly a result of excessive blood loss from the night before.
"What do you do? I said ten thousand Renminbi, yet you insist on giving me twenty thousand. Is your family very rich?" Yeh Hsiao-Nuo asked as she sat next to Chen Haoxuan, feeding him breakfast.
It was Yeh Hsiao-Nuo's first time feeding someone else. Chen Haoxuan believed her because when she fed him porridge, she didn't care that some spilled at the corner of his mouth. "My family isn't rich; I'm the one with money. If you were a bit gentler and more careful, and wiped off the porridge from the corner of my mouth that dripped onto my neck, I wouldn't mind giving you an extra ten thousand Renminbi," Chen Haoxuan said while eating.
"Since you think I'm rough, if it weren't for the money, I would have already taken you down," Yeh Hsiao-Nuo complained inwardly.
If the people from Qingye Gang saw Yeh Hsiao-Nuo gently feeding a man porridge, they would surely be surprised and question whether this was still their ruthless Boss Lady.
Chen Haoxuan ate two bowls of century egg porridge before finally feeling full and more comfortable.
"You saved my life, but I don't even know your name. How rude! Can you tell me your name?" Chen Haoxuan smiled at Yeh Hsiao-Nuo.
"It's fine to tell you; my name is Yeh Hsiao-Nuo. What about you? What's your name and what do you do?" Yeh Hsiao-Nuo asked.
"Yeh Hsiao-Nuo? Are you the daughter of the leader of Qingye Gang?" Chen Haoxuan exclaimed in surprise. He had looked up information on Ye Hongfei and knew that Ye Hongfei had an older sister. He never expected that the person who saved him would be Ye Hongfei's sister; what a twist of fate!
"How did you know I'm the Boss Lady of Qingye Gang?" Yeh Hsiao-Nuo asked curiously. Few people knew her real name; most either called her Miss or Boss Lady.
"Your Qingye Gang is so big, and you're the daughter of its leader. What's strange about knowing your name?" Chen Haoxuan explained.
"You still haven't told me your name," Yeh Hsiao-Nuo said.
"I... I think I should wait until my injuries heal a bit more before telling you," Chen Haoxuan replied with a bitter smile.
"Then can you at least tell me what you do?" Yeh Hsiao-Nuo asked again.
"I'm in business, but as for why I'm being hunted, I have no idea," Chen Haoxuan said.
"Did you see who was chasing you?" Yeh Hsiao-Nuo asked curiously; she was most interested in these thrilling matters.
"I don't know. I didn't even see any of them; I only know there were about five of them, each armed with a silenced pistol. They surrounded my place, which is why I have wounds on the front, back, and both sides," Chen Haoxuan explained.
