Shen Ruyan finally found Chen Haoxuan at his residence. At the entrance, she saw him directing a group of people who were working on some strange items.
Chen Haoxuan was preparing for his own safety. He had hired workers from a friend who owned a hardware factory and was utilizing the equipment from that factory. He was currently renovating his residence to make it the safest place possible, constantly moving around as he worried someone might try to ambush him.
Shen Ruyan walked into Chen Haoxuan's residence. "Chen Haoxuan," she called out sweetly.
Chen Haoxuan had already noticed Shen Ruyan. He turned his head and said lightly, "I'm busy right now. If it's not important, please come back another day."
He didn't even give her the chance to speak, which made her quite unhappy. If it weren't for the country's development, she wouldn't want to see Chen Haoxuan at all. She said, "I have something very important to discuss with you; it concerns your safety."
Upon hearing Shen Ruyan's words, Chen Haoxuan immediately instructed the workers he had hired on what to do before turning to Shen Ruyan and saying, "Come to my room."
Without thinking much, Shen Ruyan followed Chen Haoxuan to his room. The door had been replaced with an iron door, and the window at the top of the room was still broken. He planned to install bulletproof glass the next day. Chen Haoxuan sat on a chair against the wall and said to Shen Ruyan, "Sit here; it's safer."
Shen Ruyan sat next to Chen Haoxuan and spoke up, "Chen Haoxuan, I heard that there are assassins trying to kill you. I know some very capable people who would be willing to protect you if you're willing to pay them."
"I don't need protection," Chen Haoxuan replied calmly. Although he knew Shen Ruyan's identity, he wasn't sure whether she was a good person or not, so it was best to be cautious around someone like her.
"Do you really think you can handle those assassins by yourself? You have so much money; why not use it to save your life instead of saving it for when you're in hell?" Shen Ruyan said angrily.
"There are so many people who want me dead right now; how do I know if you want to harm me or help me? For my own safety, I won't accept help from someone I'm not familiar with," Chen Haoxuan stated.
"You? You're really dense. If I wanted to harm you, would you still be alive right now?" Shen Ruyan bit her lip, clearly frustrated.
Chen Haoxuan turned around and looked into Shen Ruyan's eyes, saying seriously, "If you really want to help me, then help me find out who wants to kill me."
"Alright! I promise you, I'll go back and investigate right now. If you find yourself in any danger, remember to call me; maybe I can save you," Shen Ruyan replied.
"Okay! If that day really comes, I will call you," Chen Haoxuan said with a smile.
Shen Ruyan left, and Chen Haoxuan continued his renovations.
After returning, Shen Ruyan sent a message to her teammates at headquarters, asking them to help find out who wanted to kill Chen Haoxuan.
Li De from the New City Police Department was also using his authority to help Chen Haoxuan investigate. They initially searched using computers because it was the internet age, and everyone's information was stored digitally. Chen Haoxuan believed that the person who wrote this letter was a girl because the handwriting was delicate and seemed to belong to someone cultured—not like Abel's rough style.
Chen Haoxuan chose to go to the back mountain to meet those assassins. The things he designed no longer existed on his laptop; they were all stored on the Qianfo Stone Pagoda Website, so he didn't have to worry about them being stolen.
Chen Haoxuan placed his laptop in the security room at the entrance of New City University. He also bought a camouflage outfit from the security guard and then went to a toy wholesale market not far from New City University to buy a telescope and several boxes of small blades. After purchasing what he needed, he headed toward the back mountain of New City University. Along the way, he avoided the main path and specifically walked along the roadside or through areas with many plants, occasionally using the telescope to look around.
"Report, sir. Chen Haoxuan has headed toward the back mountain," reported Number Four, one of Abel's subordinates, through his earpiece.
"Continue monitoring," Abel ordered.
Abel turned to Meihiko, who was beside her, and said, "Chen Haoxuan has arrived. Get your people ready! If they can't capture him alive, I will have my men shoot him dead."
"Don't worry! This time I brought ten subordinates with me to New City University. Some of them trained with me in the United States for special agent training, and others are our Island Nation's most honored Elite Ninjas. With these experts around, even our former instructors wouldn't stand a chance," Meihiko said proudly.
