As Abel's subordinates gathered, Chen Haoxuan left his seat and walked toward the door. Abel assumed Chen Haoxuan was going outside, so she immediately ordered her subordinates through the earpiece to aim at the entrance of Chen Haoxuan's residence and shoot him in the legs if he came out.
Unfortunately, Chen Haoxuan was not going out; he was binding the ninjas he had knocked out in the formation and hiding them in a secret underground chamber that he had had excavated. This basement was very discreet, and it was impossible to see unless one looked closely.
After binding the fifteen ninjas and tossing them into the basement, Chen Haoxuan returned to his previous seat, poured himself a glass of red wine, and leisurely began to drink, occasionally displaying a blissful smile.
Chen Haoxuan's expression nearly infuriated Abel and Meihiko. When someone attempts to assassinate you, your expression should reflect fear, not a blissful smile.
For Chen Haoxuan, this smile was one of happiness because he had effortlessly captured fifteen ninjas who wanted to kill him. Such an achievement was worth smiling about. However, Abel and her team did not see it that way; they believed that Chen Haoxuan's blissful smile was mocking them.
"Number One, Number Three, assemble," Abel commanded her subordinates with an angry tone.
Once her subordinates gathered, Abel waved her hand and stepped forward with two handguns toward Chen Haoxuan's residence. She felt that Chen Haoxuan must know they were coming and that Meihiko's subordinates had certainly been dealt with by him.
Abel's subordinates hid their sniper rifles in the corner while approaching Chen Haoxuan's residence with handguns in hand—each carrying two. Only Meihiko carried just one, a small and exquisite handgun that felt more like a piece of jewelry than a weapon for killing.
Abel and her team walked openly to Chen Haoxuan's residence, but it seemed as if he didn't notice them at all as he continued playing on his computer. In reality, Chen Haoxuan had seen them; he had installed hidden cameras throughout his residence. As long as he sat in front of his computer, he could see every corner of his home, even the bathroom.
In ancient times, brute force was the strongest power; however, in modern times, technology reigns supreme. Just moments ago, Chen Haoxuan had dealt with fifteen Elite Ninjas while sitting down—this proved his point.
When Abel and her team reached Chen Haoxuan's door and saw a small stainless steel door, they realized what had happened: those fifteen ninjas must have entered and then been killed by Chen Haoxuan's accomplices—that’s what they thought.
"Number Three, go open the door and take a look," Abel whispered to her subordinate.
Number Three gently pushed the door, which opened easily. He stepped inside and saw many identical small doors. He turned back to Abel and the others and said, "There are many identical small doors inside; I suspect this is a maze."
They entered through the roof. Abel knew that Chen Haoxuan would have installed bulletproof glass on the window of his room and secured it, but she wanted to see if she could pry it open.
The four of them were all skilled. They first lifted one person up, then one person pulled from above while the others jumped; as soon as the person above pulled, they were up.
Once Abel and the others were on the roof, they quietly approached the rooftop of Chen Haoxuan's room. "Number One, Number Three, see if you can pry open the window," Abel instructed her two subordinates.
Number One and Number Three were desperately prying with a dagger while Arno and Meihiko aimed their guns at the window to prevent any sudden enemy appearances.
"Can you get it open?" Abel asked her subordinates.
"It's already loose; we should be able to pry it open soon," Number One replied happily.
With a loud bang, the window at the top of Chen Haoxuan's room was finally pried open. Seeing the window open, Abel was delighted and told her subordinates, "Quick, go down."
What Abel and the others didn't expect was that this was a trap set by Chen Haoxuan. From his computer, Chen Haoxuan saw that Abel and her team had jumped into his room through the window. He smiled and began typing a series of strange data on his computer. With a bang, another window appeared below the top window in Chen Haoxuan's room. It turned out that Chen Haoxuan controlled a steel plate that quickly extended from an iron box installed at the bottom to block the window.
Suddenly hearing a bang, Abel looked up to see that the window they had just jumped through was blocked by a steel plate. She was startled and thought, "Not good, we've fallen into a trap."
"Everyone be careful; we've fallen into Chen Haoxuan's trap. Number One, Number Three, see if you can remove the steel plate above," Abel urgently instructed her subordinates.
Number One and Number Three worked together to move Chen Haoxuan's bed aside and then shifted the wardrobe against the wall under the window. They climbed up to pry at the steel plate.
"Meihiko, let's see if we can get this door open," Abel said to Meihiko.
Abel and Meihiko pulled and kicked at the door, but it was solidly made of steel and wouldn't budge after all their efforts. "Abel, step aside; I'll try with my gun," Meihiko said to Abel.
Bang, bang, bang... Meihiko fired five shots in a row, and the lock was slightly deformed. It seemed that the lock had really been damaged.
Abel happily went to open the door, using all her strength, but the door remained unchanged.
Unable to open the door, Abel could only place her hopes on the window on the roof. "How about it? Can you open it?" Abel asked her subordinate.
"No, the steel plate is too thick and sturdy. Unless we use explosives, we can't get it open," Number One replied to Abel.
Meihiko pointed at Number One and scolded, "This room is so small; if we use explosives, we'll be lucky if we survive."
At that moment, Chen Haoxuan's voice suddenly came from inside the room: "Abel, thank you for helping to catch Meihiko. You can take your friend and leave now, but before you go, it's safer to tie up Meihiko. Otherwise, if she escapes, it won't be good for either of us."
Upon hearing Chen Haoxuan's words, Meihiko immediately aimed her gun at Abel.
Abel didn't expect Chen Haoxuan to play this card and turn them against each other. To make Meihiko believe her words, she did not aim her gun at Meihiko. She seriously said to Meihiko, "Meihiko, don't listen to Chen Haoxuan; he's trying to deceive you."
"Abel, you're a senior agent; why are you afraid of her? Can she really take on all three of you by herself? Hurry up and tie her up, then take the money and leave," Chen Haoxuan's voice echoed in the room.
