After finishing her meal, Shen Ruyan consciously went to wash the dishes. Once she had cleaned everything, she did not ask to leave but continued to sit next to Chen Haoxuan, watching him work on something strange on his computer.
At nine o'clock in the evening, Chen Haoxuan noticed that Shen Ruyan had not left yet and said to her, "It's so late, are you planning to stay here?"
"Of course! Who told you to make me suffer so much today? If I go back now, the teachers and students at New City University will definitely laugh at me. You have two spare rooms here, so just let me stay for a few days! Wait, don’t rush to refuse me. You made me suffer so much, and I haven't done anything to you. Is it really too much to ask to stay for a few days?" Shen Ruyan replied.
"I'll tell you, I'm not a good person. If one day I decide I want something from you, I'll drug you and then... heh heh... you know what I mean," Chen Haoxuan said with a lewd smile.
Shen Ruyan raised her fist and said to Chen Haoxuan, "If you dare, I'll cut off your manhood."
"I was just joking! I'm really not interested in you," Chen Haoxuan laughed.
Shen Ruyan insisted on staying, and Chen Haoxuan had no way to get rid of her; he couldn't just throw her out!
Chen Yina had bought many new clothes that were still in the closet, many of which had never been worn. This benefited Shen Ruyan, who was now dressed head to toe in Chen Yina's clothes. Wearing Chen Yina's clothes in Chen Yina's room caused Chen Haoxuan to have several hallucinations where he mistook Shen Ruyan for Chen Yina, but fortunately, these illusions were fleeting.
The next morning, Chen Haoxuan got up to buy groceries. When he returned, he saw Shen Ruyan in her pajamas frying eggs, which she had already burned.
Holding two bags of groceries, Chen Haoxuan asked Shen Ruyan, "What are you doing?"
"I'm frying eggs!" Shen Ruyan replied as she turned to him.
"Can those eggs be eaten?" Chen Haoxuan questioned.
"Of course! Can't you smell the aroma?" Shen Ruyan proudly responded, seemingly satisfied with her creation.
"It smells good, but eating it is another story. I advise you to fry them again; this is really not edible," Chen Haoxuan kindly warned.
"Who says? It smells so good that it must taste great," Shen Ruyan said skeptically about Chen Haoxuan's words. She took a little bit with the spatula, blew on it to cool it down, and put it in her mouth: "Wow... it's so bitter!" Shen Ruyan grimaced at the taste.
"Step aside, let me make breakfast, just watch," Chen Haoxuan said to Shen Ruyan.
Days passed, and Shen Ruyan had been staying with Chen Haoxuan for four days. On April 2nd, when Chen Haoxuan planned to return to Chen Family Village, Shen Ruyan insisted on following him, claiming it was to protect his safety.
Chen Haoxuan was only going back to check on Jiang Dong and the others. Since Shen Ruyan was aware of his abilities, there was nothing to hide. Since he couldn't shake her off, he decided to bring her along.
Shen Ruyan was too lazy to drive her own car; she simply rode with Chen Haoxuan to Chen Family Village. Upon arriving, the first thing Shen Ruyan exclaimed was, "Why is it so poor here?"
As Chen Haoxuan drove into Chen Family Village, he replied to Shen Ruyan, "It's not that this place is poor; it's just that you are too wealthy, which makes it seem poor. Other villages are even poorer than this one."
"In such a destitute place appears a genius like you; it's truly a once-in-a-millennium occurrence!" Shen Ruyan smiled.
"Indeed, it is a once-in-a-millennium occurrence," Chen Haoxuan said. He was a designer from the future and had heard a legend about someone who traveled to 21st century China. Because of this person, technology in China flourished and even surpassed the rest of the world; some technologies were beyond what people from Future Century could achieve.
The bead he studied before traveling was said to be left by that traveler. He suspected that it was that bead that brought him to the 21st century. However, he could not confirm whether that was true.
"Wow, I see your villa! It's really luxurious! It looks even better than in the pictures," Shen Ruyan exclaimed in the car. Chen Haoxuan's villa stood out in Chen Family Village because it was the best, tallest, and largest house there—hard not to notice!
Chen Haoxuan drove into the villa compound, and as soon as Shen Ruyan got out of the car, she started running around, occasionally squatting down to pick up Water Stones used for paving. "Wow! You really know how to enjoy life! Surrounded by mountains and a river, with numerous ancient buildings around your house and using natural Water Stones for paving... I feel like your villa is a paradise," Shen Ruyan chattered nonstop.
"If you like it here, you could buy a piece of land and build a villa!" Chen Haoxuan smiled.
"Don't say that; I actually have such plans. My grandparents are getting older and are about to retire. If I build a villa here for them to live in their old age, they would be very happy," Shen Ruyan said sweetly.
"That's a good idea," Chen Haoxuan replied.
Li Ping had just seen Chen Haoxuan's car in her yard. It had been quite some time since she last saw him, so she hurried over to his home. "Haoxuan."
Hearing that familiar and affectionate voice, Chen Haoxuan turned around to see his beloved Aunt Ping: "Aunt Ping, long time no see! I've missed you." He walked over and hugged Li Ping tightly.
"Aunt Ping misses you too! It's been so long since you came back to see Aunt Ping. I thought you had forgotten about me!" Li Ping said kindly to Chen Haoxuan.
Shen Ruyan walked over, extending her fair hand and said, "Aunt Ping, hello! I am Shen Ruyan, Chen Haoxuan's classmate. I'm here to visit him today."
Li Ping quickly reached out her hand to shake Shen Ruyan's. "Hello, welcome! I'll make some delicious food for you this noon."
"Yes, thank you, Aunt Ping! You're so nice," Shen Ruyan replied sweetly.
Li Ping chatted with Chen Haoxuan for a few more moments before leaving, saying she was going to prepare a hearty lunch for them to taste.
"Shen Ruyan, you can go play by yourself! I have things to do and won't have time to keep you company," Chen Haoxuan told Shen Ruyan.
"Go ahead! I'm not a child; I don't need you to watch over me," Shen Ruyan replied playfully.
Shen Ruyan wandered around, exploring Chen Haoxuan's villa. She even watched his subordinates train on the rooftop. After that, she went to Chen Yina's house. Upon arriving at Chen Yina's home, she was surprised to find that it was made of yellow mud.
What struck her as even stranger was that despite the poor condition of the house, all the furniture inside was very nice. This unusual combination left her feeling perplexed.
