Shen Ruyan wandered around the village and noticed that there were very few people in Chen Family Village, especially young ones. Being from the city, she had no idea what rural life was like.
Jiang Dong and the others knew that Chen Haoxuan had brought back a beautiful woman today, and they privately discussed whether she was Chen Haoxuan's girlfriend.

While living in Chen Family Village, Shen Ruyan didn't want to go back; it felt like a paradise, especially at night when she could go to the pavilion on the villa's rooftop to enjoy the cool breeze, sipping red wine, snacking on seeds, crossing her legs, and gazing at the unpolluted sky filled with stars. The beauty of nature made her want to shout: "I want to marry into Chen Family Village!"
On Friday morning, Shen Ruyan went to play in the fields of Chen Family Village. She saw an Uncle Farmer working hard at the foot of the mountain. Noticing him sweating profusely under the scorching sun while continuing his labor, she approached him: "Hello, uncle! Why don’t you go back since it's so hot? You could wait until sunset or come in the morning; wouldn’t that be better?"
"Girl, you look unfamiliar; you must be from the city, right? You don’t know how hard farming is. If we don’t work, we won’t have food to eat," replied Uncle Farmer. If Chen Haoxuan were here and saw this Uncle Farmer, he would definitely turn around and leave. This Uncle Farmer was actually Chen Zhenghao, who was living a very poor life now. They had little land, and it was hard to earn income in the countryside aside from farming. Unlike other families with children to support them, he and his wife relied solely on farming to make ends meet.
He did have two sons, but both had left him. Now, his family was considered one of the poorest in Chen Family Village.
"Yes, I came with Chen Haoxuan. He didn’t have time to play with me, so I came out by myself," said Shen Ruyan sweetly.
Hearing her words, Chen Zhenghao paused his work and looked at her with appreciation: "He rarely brings girls home; your relationship must be special."
"I’m his classmate. He didn’t want to bring me to New City, but I insisted on coming along; he had no choice, hehe..." said Shen Ruyan, feeling proud.
"Do you like him?" asked Chen Zhenghao.
"Not really! But I do have a good impression of him," replied Shen Ruyan.
"Hahaha... He is an excellent young man. If you like him, you should cherish this opportunity! Otherwise, if you miss it, you will regret it," smiled Chen Zhenghao, speaking kindly to Shen Ruyan.
"Uncle, what’s your name?" called out Shen Ruyan sweetly.
"I... my name is Chen Zhenghao," Chen Zhenghao said with a smile.
"Ah... you are Chen Zhenghao, Chen Haoxuan's father," Shen Ruyan said in surprise. She had seen photos of Chen Zhenghao, and he didn't look so downcast in them! But the Chen Zhenghao in front of her seemed so unfortunate.
"I don't even know if I am his father, because I gave birth to him but failed to fulfill my responsibilities as a dad," Chen Zhenghao sighed.
"I know about your situation with Chen Haoxuan. Don't worry, as long as you're willing to change, Chen Haoxuan will forgive you," Shen Ruyan comforted Chen Zhenghao.
"I hope so!" Chen Zhenghao replied with a smile.
Shen Ruyan chatted with Chen Zhenghao for a long time by the field. She learned a lot about Chen Haoxuan from him and discovered that his childhood was quite tragic. Perhaps it was this tragedy that shaped Chen Haoxuan into an extraordinary genius.
In the afternoon, Shen Ruyan returned to Chen Haoxuan's villa. She looked down from the rooftop and saw how strong all of Chen Haoxuan's subordinates were. She was eager to see just how much stronger Chen Haoxuan was compared to them. So she ran downstairs to find him.
Shen Ruyan rushed down and saw Chen Haoxuan reading medical books in the living room. She called out to him, "Chen Haoxuan, I want to challenge you to see who is more skilled."
Chen Haoxuan replied without looking up, "Not interested."
"Chen Haoxuan, you're a coward. You won't even dare to compete with a girl; you're not a man," Shen Ruyan tried to provoke him into accepting the challenge.
"Competing with a girl is troublesome. If I accidentally hit her in certain areas, she'll scream and call me a pervert. It's too much hassle; I'm not competing," Chen Haoxuan said as he lifted his head.
"I won't do that," Shen Ruyan said as she walked over to him.
Suddenly, Chen Haoxuan stood up and reached out to grab Shen Ruyan's chest.
Shen Ruyan was taken aback for a moment before exclaiming, "Ah..." Her scream made Chen Haoxuan feel a slight pain in his ears.
"You said you didn't care, didn't you?" Chen Haoxuan said with a smile.
"Pervert." Shen Ruyan shouted angrily and then slapped Chen Haoxuan's face, making a crisp sound.
Chen Haoxuan rubbed his face and sat down, feeling wronged. "From now on, don't talk to me. You just said you didn't care, but now you're so concerned."
Shen Ruyan's face turned red as she replied angrily, "I meant I didn't care during the competition, not that I don't care now. Besides, you suddenly grabbed... grabbed my chest; how was I supposed to react?"
"I just wanted to try it out! Who knew you would care so much? Also, your reaction time is too slow. I held your chest for so long before you reacted, so let's not compete anymore. You're not my opponent," Chen Haoxuan said with a mischievous smile.
"You're just a pervert trying to take advantage of me, using this as an excuse," Shen Ruyan retorted angrily.
"Whatever you think. If you can't accept me accidentally touching certain parts of you, then I won't compete with you. After all, during a competition, who cares about that? You can hit my chest, but I can't hit yours—what kind of logic is that? If you're capable, go tell your enemies not to hit your chest because you're a girl and see if they agree," Chen Haoxuan said.
"That's just nonsense," Shen Ruyan turned her head away.
"If you want to find someone to compete with, go find my subordinates! See if you're their match. If one of them can't beat you, you can call more! When you can challenge twenty of them at once, then come challenge me!" Chen Haoxuan said.
