Chen Haoxuan walked into Yang Lin's dormitory again and said to Yang Lin, "Give me a set of your casual clothes to wear."
"OK, I'll get it right away," Yang Lin replied readily. There was no need for politeness between them since they were close friends.
Yang Lin quickly found a wrinkled white casual outfit for Chen Haoxuan and said, "Haoxuan, this style is supposed to be wrinkled; it's very trendy right now. Give it a try." In reality, the outfit was wrinkled because he had carelessly stuffed it into the wardrobe without folding it.
Chen Haoxuan, who could design clothes himself, certainly understood why the outfit looked like that. He said nothing and took the clothes into the bathroom, where he changed out of his own clothes and put on Yang Lin's wrinkled casual outfit.
When Chen Haoxuan came out wearing the casual outfit, Yang Lin immediately praised him, "You look amazing! I can't believe how handsome you are in this trendy outfit."
"Stop flattering me. Go get me a pair of slippers, a bag for my clothes, and two packs of tissues," Chen Haoxuan instructed Yang Lin.
After gathering everything, Chen Haoxuan left Yang Lin's dormitory. Before leaving, he handed Yang Lin a check for ten thousand Renminbi, saying it was his salary for the month and payment for the clothes.
Carrying a bag, Chen Haoxuan returned to the restroom where Shen Ruyan was waiting at the door. As a girl was about to enter the restroom, Chen Haoxuan approached her politely and said, "Excuse me, I have a friend inside at the first stall. Could you please help me deliver this to her?"
"Of course!" The girl replied excitedly. Meeting Chen Haoxuan at the restroom door felt like fate to her.
The girl took the bag inside for Chen Haoxuan. She came out shortly after and asked him for an autograph before leaving. Chen Haoxuan generously signed for her.
After five minutes, Shen Ruyan finally emerged. She was wearing Chen Haoxuan's fitted white suit and looked beautiful and unique. Her face appeared slightly pale, possibly from just having used the restroom, which added a touch of delicate beauty to her appearance.
"I didn't expect you to look so good in my clothes," Chen Haoxuan complimented Shen Ruyan.
"Can you give me this outfit?" Shen Ruyan asked eagerly. After changing in the restroom and checking herself in the mirror, she realized how great it looked on her and wanted to keep it.
"That's not possible. This outfit is unique to me in this world and represents my identity. If it weren't for your special circumstances, I wouldn't have let you wear my clothes!" Chen Haoxuan replied.
"If you're not going to give it to me, then fine! You're so stingy," Shen Ruyan huffed angrily.
"Your face looks very pale. Let's sit under the tree in front for a while," Chen Haoxuan said gently to Shen Ruyan.
"Okay," Shen Ruyan replied with a smile. She felt that Chen Haoxuan was someone who had a sharp tongue but a soft heart. He often liked to tease her, but when she was unwell, like now, he was very gentle with her.
Chen Haoxuan helped Shen Ruyan to sit under a tree not far from the restroom.
Not far from them, three people were using binoculars and saw Chen Haoxuan and Shen Ruyan. "Wang Fuyou, what's going on? Why is Chen Haoxuan fine while Shen Ruyan has diarrhea and is wearing Chen Haoxuan's clothes? Did that fat guy mess up the medicine?"
"Damn that fat guy for messing up the medicine. We need to find him tonight and teach him a lesson; we can't let Shen Ruyan down," Wang Fuyou said.
Meanwhile, as they sat under the tree, Chen Haoxuan noticed Shen Ruyan moving around restlessly, her face showing discomfort. He gently said to her, "You can lie down. Rest your head on my lap; it will be more comfortable."
"Okay." Shen Ruyan lay on the grass with her head resting on Chen Haoxuan's thigh.
Seeing this scene, Wang Fuyou and the others were furious, feeling like they had lost both their lady and their soldiers.
Before long, Shen Ruyan's stomach began to rumble again. This time she couldn't hold it in any longer and immediately ran to the restroom.
Within two hours, Shen Ruyan went to the restroom three times, each time worse than the last. By the third time she came out of the restroom, she could barely stand. Chen Haoxuan quickly stepped forward to support her. "I think you have a bad stomach; it's quite serious. For your health, let's go to the school's infirmary."
"Okay," Shen Ruyan said weakly as she leaned against Chen Haoxuan.
Chen Haoxuan picked up Shen Ruyan and carried her to the infirmary. Once there, the doctor examined Shen Ruyan and said she had an upset stomach and just needed some medicine for diarrhea.
Shen Ruyan took the medicine, but it didn't help at all; she continued to have diarrhea intermittently. She felt extremely weak now and needed Chen Haoxuan to carry her even to the restroom.
Seeing Shen Ruyan's condition, the doctor at the infirmary quickly called for an ambulance. When news of Shen Ruyan being sent to the hospital reached Wang Fuyou and the others, they realized how serious it was. They hadn't expected that mysterious man would sell them such potent laxatives.
Shen Ruyan arrived at the large hospital, and during the examination, it was discovered that she had not just suffered from food poisoning but had ingested a laxative that contained a spreading poison. Because Shen Ruyan was experiencing continuous diarrhea, her body grew weaker. As her weakened state lowered her resistance, the poison began to spread more rapidly throughout her stomach.
Chen Haoxuan was very worried upon learning that Shen Ruyan had been poisoned.
That night, a group of soldiers arrived at the People's Hospital, seemingly high-ranking officials, prompting the hospital director to come out to greet them.
"What happened to my granddaughter? Who could be so hateful as to poison her?" shouted an elderly man in his sixties who appeared to be Shen Ruyan's Grandfather. Despite his age, his demeanor and robust physique did not resemble that of an elderly man.
"My daughter, please don’t let anything happen to you! How can I live if something happens to you!"
"My dear granddaughter, please don’t let anything happen to you..."
The sounds of weeping echoed through the hospital corridor.
The director of People's Hospital approached Shen Ruyan's Grandfather and said despondently, "Sir, we have never seen this type of poison before. We extracted some of the toxin and tried various antidotes, but nothing has worked."
"Are you saying that my granddaughter cannot be saved?" Shen Ruyan's Grandfather roared, gripping the director’s collar with a strength that belied his age.
