Chapter 29: Being a Boyfriend for a Day
"Shen Ruyan, don't think just because you're a girl I won't do anything to you. If you keep being unreasonable, even if your grandfather comes, I'll still deal with you," Chen Haoxuan shouted angrily.
"I'm being unreasonable, so what? Ha, if you have the ability, go ahead and deal with me!" Shen Ruyan continued to pound on Chen Haoxuan's chest.
Chen Haoxuan was furious and felt like he could kill her. He really couldn't do anything to Shen Ruyan. Although she was annoying, she didn't deserve to be harmed. The only thing that could scare Shen Ruyan was if he were to take advantage of her. He said coldly, "If you keep this up, I'll take advantage of you. If you dare report me to your grandfather, I'll tell the whole world that I've touched your body all over. Let's see how you'll get married in the future."
"Chen Haoxuan, if you dare, I'll tell everyone that you said you would marry me, which is why I let you touch my body. If you don't marry me afterward, everyone will say you're a liar who specifically deceives girls. If you do marry me, then you won't be able to explain it to your girlfriends," Shen Ruyan retorted with a defiant tone.
Chen Haoxuan was speechless. Both of them were clever and had no way to deal with each other; their relationship hadn't reached the point of physical confrontation yet. Shen Ruyan was right; if Chen Haoxuan really did take advantage of her and threatened her with his reputation, she could claim it was voluntary and that he had promised to marry her before allowing him to do so. Unless Chen Haoxuan actually married Shen Ruyan, he truly had no way to handle her.
Feeling frustrated, Chen Haoxuan frowned and thought about how to subdue Shen Ruyan.
After a while of pounding, Shen Ruyan noticed that Chen Haoxuan wasn't resisting anymore and felt awkward continuing. She saw him frowning with a blank expression and realized he was deep in thought. So she asked, "Chen Haoxuan, what are you thinking about?"
"I'm thinking about how to subdue you, little demon," Chen Haoxuan replied lightly.
"I'm the demon; you're the monster," Shen Ruyan said as she playfully hit his chest.
Suddenly, Shen Ruyan felt something pressing against her chest. Her face flushed red as she realized she had been pressing against Chen Haoxuan the whole time and could feel her own curves being squished. When she moved slightly, she felt something hard pressing against her lower body and said coyly to Chen Haoxuan, "What do you have in your pocket? It's uncomfortable pressing against me."
Hearing Shen Ruyan's words made Chen Haoxuan embarrassed; his face turned inexplicably red. What she referred to was actually his private part—how could he possibly tell her that!
"Shen Ruyan, do you think it's normal for a girl to be on top of a guy? Get off me now! If you don't get up soon, I'm going to get angry," Chen Haoxuan said angrily, worried that if this continued, he wouldn't be able to resist taking advantage of Shen Ruyan.
"You must have something precious in your pocket," Shen Ruyan said as she leaned to the side and quickly reached for Chen Haoxuan's groin. When she grabbed it, she couldn't help but squeeze, curious as she asked, "Huh, why is it so soft? What exactly is this?"
Chen Haoxuan's face turned bright red; Shen Ruyan was grabbing his private part! He wanted to say, go ahead and grab it! But why do you have to squeeze too? Isn't that clearly an invitation for me to take advantage of you?
"Can you... let go of your hand?" Chen Haoxuan said awkwardly.
"No way, it must be something important, which is why you haven't told me," Shen Ruyan replied playfully.
"Big sister, what you're holding is indeed very important. It's more important than my life, so I'm begging you, can you please let go?" Chen Haoxuan said with a mournful expression.
"Huh, how strange. The thing in your pocket is getting bigger and isn't as soft as before," Shen Ruyan said curiously.
Chen Haoxuan could no longer hold back and directly said, "What you're holding is actually my private part; can you let go now?"
Upon hearing Chen Haoxuan's words, Shen Ruyan screamed, "Ah... why didn't you say so earlier?"
"Big sister, does it need saying? A man's private part isn't on his head, is it?" Chen Haoxuan replied in disbelief.
"You... you..." Shen Ruyan stammered, unsure of what to say. She could feel her cheeks burning.
"Big sister, can you let go now? If you keep holding on, I really might want to take advantage of you," Chen Haoxuan said calmly.
"Ah..." Shen Ruyan screamed and released her grip on Chen Haoxuan's private part.
Chen Haoxuan turned to look at the shy Shen Ruyan and said, "From now on, never casually grab a man's crotch. You're lucky; if it were someone of poor character, you would have already been taken advantage of. Even if you didn't agree, others might use force."
Shen Ruyan turned to the side, lowered her head, and shyly said, "Stop talking about it, please... I swear I didn't mean to. I really thought I was grabbing something else and didn't expect it to be your... you know. If there were a crack in the ground, I would definitely want to hide in it."
"I grabbed your chest, you grabbed my... we are even now. So don't threaten me again in the future, got it?" Chen Haoxuan said seriously to Shen Ruyan.
"You are a man; I... grabbing your thing is you taking advantage of me. You... grabbing my chest is me losing out," Shen Ruyan replied shyly.
"Are you kidding? You grabbed me?? I'm the one taking advantage here! No matter how you see it, I'm always the one benefiting, and no matter what you do, it's still me benefiting. I really want to ask you, are you even human?" Chen Haoxuan said irritably.
Shen Ruyan drew circles on the ground with her finger, not daring to look at Chen Haoxuan. In a soft voice, she said, "I'm just a girl!" Unknowingly, Shen Ruyan had become gentler.
"Right now, neither of us owes the other anything, okay?" Chen Haoxuan said.
"No way! You still owe me a statue," Shen Ruyan pouted seriously.
"You... you're really annoying," Chen Haoxuan frowned. He realized that Shen Ruyan was becoming harder to deal with. He knew she was a good person, but he couldn't stand her personality.
"You actually think I'm annoying? I'll hit you!" Shen Ruyan said. Since she was turned to the side and her left hand was pressed against her body, she could only use her right hand. She reached out and lightly tapped Chen Haoxuan's chest. When her hand landed on his chest, she lingered there for a moment, not knowing why she wanted so much to lean into his embrace.
"What are you doing? I touched your chest; are you touching mine back so that you don't lose out?" Chen Haoxuan looked at Shen Ruyan and asked.
"Chen Haoxuan, do you know why so many girls like you?" Shen Ruyan suddenly asked him a strange question.
"Of course, it's because I'm handsome and talented, which is why many girls like me," Chen Haoxuan said.
"You are wrong. It's not your looks or talent that girls like; it's your sense of responsibility and thoughtfulness for others that makes you a good man, a considerate good man. A man like you is the kind of husband every woman dreams of. Am I right?" Shen Ruyan said gently.
"I have responsibility and thoughtfulness, but I'm not that great! Why would you say that?" Chen Haoxuan questioned. He was being honest; if he truly had a sense of responsibility, he wouldn't be hiding things from Chen Yina and other girls. If he were considerate, he wouldn't bully Shen Ruyan.
"Think about it! If you didn't have a sense of responsibility, you would have already taken advantage of me. If you weren't thoughtful, how could you always consider my feelings? Don't deny it; I know you get angry at me all the time because you don't want me to like you, right? You're afraid of hurting my feelings, aren't you?" Shen Ruyan looked at Chen Haoxuan with affection.
"I think you're mistaken. The reason I don't dare to take advantage of you is that I don't want to betray Nana, and I'm also afraid of your grandfather. I get angry at you because I really can't stand you," Chen Haoxuan replied.
"Chen Haoxuan, can I ask you for a favor?" Shen Ruyan said.
"What is it?" Chen Haoxuan asked.
"I've never been in a relationship before. Can you pretend to be my boyfriend for just one day? I really want to know what being in love feels like," Shen Ruyan said with longing in her eyes.
"I refuse," Chen Haoxuan said as he got up and sat on the nearby sofa.
Shen Ruyan also got up from the floor and sat beside Chen Haoxuan, wrapping one arm around him. "Promise me, or I'll keep bothering you until you find someone else, hmm?"
Chen Haoxuan turned around with a frown and said, "Oh my goodness! Just tell me what it will take for you to let me go."
"I just want you to pretend to be my boyfriend for a day. Is that so difficult? If you agree, I won't bother you anymore," Shen Ruyan said earnestly.
"Just today," Chen Haoxuan said.
"Alright, today it is," Shen Ruyan replied sweetly.
"There's no time to waste, let's go now!" Chen Haoxuan said, pulling Shen Ruyan's hand as they headed outside.
Shen Ruyan followed behind Chen Haoxuan, shyly saying, "Why are you holding my hand? If someone we know sees us, my grandfather will find out."
"Weren't you the one who said you wanted to experience what it's like to be in love? If you're worried about this and that, how will you ever experience it?" Chen Haoxuan replied without looking back.
As they entered the elevator, Chen Haoxuan suddenly pushed Shen Ruyan inside, quickly embraced her, and kissed her.
In a daze, Shen Ruyan's mind went blank; she never expected Chen Haoxuan would kiss her. This was her first kiss! Chen Haoxuan touched her gently; if it were ancient times, she would belong to him now.
After a few seconds, Chen Haoxuan released Shen Ruyan and smirked, "Kissing is essential in a relationship. How does it feel?"
Shen Ruyan couldn't help but nod.
