"Let's think of another way!" Chen Haorong frowned and said unhappily.
Fang Zhiyu grabbed Chen Haorong's arm and said worriedly, "Haorong, you need to come up with a solution quickly! Right now, the people in Chen Family Village are pointing fingers at me and secretly cursing us. They couldn't stay in Chen Family Village any longer; they needed to think of a way to get the property deed from his father quickly and then sell the house to move to the county.
The next day, Chen Haoxuan issued a notice that caused a stir in Chen Family Village and even the neighboring village. He announced that he would once again be buying various beautiful stones. This made the villagers extremely happy because when Chen Haoxuan previously bought beautiful stones, they had all benefited from it. Although he had stopped buying stones afterward, they still picked up beautiful stones whenever they saw them, saving them for when he would buy again.
As soon as the news broke, Chen Xiumin stopped studying and took leave from school. She had collected quite a few beautiful stones and thought that if she sold them all, she could buy herself a computer and many things she had always wanted. The notice from Chen Haoxuan stated that he would start buying stones at 2 PM, but as soon as her mother saw it, she called her to come back immediately to sell the stones.
Chen Xiumin didn't care about anything else; she returned home and filled a basket with her collected stones before heading to Chen Haoxuan's house. Although it wasn't time yet for buying, she believed that her special relationship with Chen Haoxuan allowed her to go early. Surprisingly, the bodyguards at the gate did not stop her and let her in directly; however, once inside, they asked her to wait downstairs while they notified Chen Haoxuan.
"Xiumin, you can go up now; our dad is in the living room on the second floor," one of the bodyguards came down and smiled at Chen Xiumin. In Chen Family Village, she was somewhat of a little star; she was famous for selling stones and had never met anyone who made more money selling stones than she did.
Before Chen Xiumin even arrived, Chen Haoxuan heard her voice: "Brother Xuan, come help me! I brought a lot of stones!"
Hearing her words made Chen Haoxuan smile involuntarily; he felt that Chen Xiumin was like the little match girl but richer than her. He stood up and walked to the staircase entrance, seeing Chen Xiumin carrying a basket filled with stones. To his surprise, she was quite strong; that basket must have weighed at least fifty or sixty pounds.
Chen Haoxuan quickly took the basket from Chen Xiumin and smiled at her, saying, "Xiumin, did you run out of pocket money so you came to sell stones?"
"Mom has saved my money and said she would give it to me when I go to college, which has left me broke. But if I sell these stones, I'll have some money because I made a deal with her that I only need to hand over half of what I make from selling them. Brother Xuan, can you help me see how much these stones are worth?"
"Sure, I'll take a look for you, little money-grubber," Chen Haoxuan replied with a smile. He placed the basket on the ground, crouched down, and began to assess the value of Chen Xiumin's stones.
Chen Xiumin was known for her good luck when it came to picking stones, but this time her luck seemed to have run out. The stones she collected were all pretty colors but didn't resemble anything valuable, so the basket wouldn't sell for much. After examining everything, Chen Haoxuan looked up at Chen Xiumin, who was watching him eagerly, and said, "Xiumin, I can't offer you a high price this time because these stones are all ordinary. They can only be used for carving or paving."
Chen Xiumin immediately felt disappointed; if she couldn't sell them for a high price, her plans for buying a computer and other things would be ruined. Pouting slightly, she asked, "Then how much can I sell them for?"
"If I say one hundred yuan, will you cry?" Chen Haoxuan joked. One hundred yuan was already a generous offer considering the abundance of colorful stones like hers that he had previously bought for paving.
"How... how is it so little?" Chen Xiumin's eyes filled with tears. She used to sell stones for thousands or even tens of thousands; now it was only one hundred—she felt crushed.
Chen Haoxuan pulled Chen Xiumin onto the sofa and comforted her. "Xiumin, don't be sad! This is how business works; you get what you pay for. Brother Xuan won't deceive you. But you look like you really need money; tell Brother Xuan what you need help with!"
With teary eyes, Chen Xiumin looked at Chen Haoxuan. Her expression made him want to hold her close and comfort her even more. "I want to buy a computer and some fun things, but my mom has saved my money. I asked her to buy me a computer, but she refused, saying I'm too young to have one."
"What do you want a computer for?" Chen Haoxuan asked.
"To watch movies! To chat on QQ! And I've heard there are many great things on computers; if there's something I don't know, I can just look it up on the computer. If I had one, it would be so convenient!" Chen Xiumin explained.
"How about this? I'll buy all your stones for one hundred yuan and personally give you a laptop worth over four thousand yuan. What do you think?" Chen Haoxuan smiled at Chen Xiumin.
"Brother Xuan, you're too good to me!" Chen Xiumin exclaimed excitedly as she quickly hugged his neck and kissed him on the lips.
Chen Haoxuan felt his mind go blank. He initially thought Chen Xiumin was going to kiss his cheek, so he didn't pull away. However, he was taken by surprise when Chen Xiumin actually kissed his lips. After all, she was only fourteen years old! Kissing a girl of that age could be illegal. The reason Chen Haoxuan didn't push Chen Xiumin away was that he hadn't fully come to his senses yet.
Chen Xiumin, in her excitement, couldn't help but kiss Chen Haoxuan. At the moment of the kiss, she didn't think much about it; it was an instinctive desire to kiss his lips. But as soon as she did, she regretted it.
