"You can't go in." The security guard at Zhang Beining's house stopped Chen Haoxuan, who was riding a motorcycle.
There were many people attending Zhang Beining's birthday party. Chen Haoxuan waited at the door for a while before he had the chance to enter. Since he saw that others attending the party did not take out their invitations to enter, he also did not take his out. Now being stopped by the security guard, Chen Haoxuan wondered if he needed to show his invitation. He pulled the invitation from his pocket and handed it to the guard, but to his surprise, after the guard saw that he indeed had an invitation, he spoke with a disdainful tone, "You can go in, but your motorcycle can't enter."
Chen Haoxuan was taken aback; other people's cars could enter, so why couldn't his motorcycle? He asked, "Why not?"
"All the cars inside the villa are luxury cars, each worth over a million. Your motorcycle, at most, is worth less than a hundred thousand. Don't you think it's embarrassing for your motorcycle to be parked next to those luxury cars?" The guard scolded him as if he had a deep-seated grudge against Chen Haoxuan.
"What if I insist on going in?" Chen Haoxuan replied coldly, his tone indicating that he was already angry. He had been busy lately, and if it weren't for Zhang Beining being his good friend, he wouldn't have come even if offered a mountain of gold.
"Hmph, do you think we security guards are just sitting around? If you want to ride your motorcycle in, it's not impossible; just take us down first," the guard said arrogantly. There were more than twenty security guards in this villa, with four at the entrance, so he didn't take Chen Haoxuan seriously.
At that moment, a black Ferrari drove up. This Ferrari had been behind Chen Haoxuan; after waiting for a long time without seeing him leave, it turned and went around him into the villa. The driver overheard the conversation between Chen Haoxuan and the guard and couldn't help but say to Chen Haoxuan as he drove in, "Country bumpkin."
"Did you see that? Everyone here is wealthy; rich people look down on you poor folks. So you'd better leave early to avoid being laughed at!" The guard taunted Chen Haoxuan.
Chen Haoxuan took out his phone and dialed Zhang Beining's number. As soon as the call connected, he shouted, "Your security guard has such great authority that he won't even let me in! If you're free, come out and get me; I'm right at your door. By the way, I don't want others to know my identity, so you should know what to do."
Hearing Chen Haoxuan talking on the phone made the guard uneasy. He thought to himself, "Could he be some big shot? Oh no! If that's true... I'm finished!"
Zhang Beining was getting ready in her room when her phone rang. Seeing it was Chen Haoxuan calling made her ecstatic. Her family and her husband Ma Yichen's family wanted to meet Chen Haoxuan; they would surely be very happy that he had come. Knowing that Chen Haoxuan was upset, Zhang Beining didn't have time to finish her makeup. She quickly called her family and Ma Yichen's family to welcome Chen Haoxuan at the door. She had previously agreed with her family to refer to him as Boss Chen because he mentioned that he didn't want others to know his identity.
Zhang Beining and her family hurried to the door. When the security guards at the entrance saw them arrive, they stood on either side of the entrance as if demonstrating their seriousness about their work.
Now there was only Chen Haoxuan left at the door; everyone else had entered. As soon as Zhang Beining and her family arrived at the entrance, they recognized that it was Chen Haoxuan standing there. Zhang Beining led her family toward him and quietly reminded them, "The person ahead is Boss Chen; just call him Boss Chen."
When they reached Chen Haoxuan, they all called out together, "Boss Chen."
Chen Haoxuan ignored Zhang Beining and the others, instead addressing the security guard who had stopped him from entering the villa, saying, "May I now ride my motorcycle inside?"
"Y-yes! You can," the security guard stammered, clearly shaken. He realized he was in trouble, as both Zhang Beining's family and Ma Yichen's family had come out to greet the person he had blocked at the door. He knew he would lose his job over this.
Chen Haoxuan then explained to Zhang Beining and the others, "I didn't cause any trouble. I followed the rules and presented my invitation when I arrived, but this security guard didn’t even look at it and refused to let me in with my motorcycle. He insisted I leave it outside, which worried me that it might get towed or stolen. That's why I had to call you for a favor; please don't take it the wrong way."
Zhang Beining lowered her head in guilt and apologized to Chen Haoxuan, "I'm very sorry, Boss Chen. It's my fault for not managing things properly. I'll fire him immediately."
"Whether you fire him or not is your business; I'm going in now," Chen Haoxuan replied before riding his motorcycle inside.
As the host of the day, Zhang Beining felt she hadn’t properly welcomed Chen Haoxuan, so Ma Yichen took on the responsibility of hosting him. Ma Yichen had once been a friend of Chen Haoxuan, making him a suitable choice for this task. However, after several years apart and with Chen Haoxuan having become a legendary figure, Ma Yichen felt that Chen Haoxuan seemed unfamiliar. He also worried that Chen Haoxuan might be displeased with them, so he treated him with extra politeness.
Ma Yichen led Chen Haoxuan to the second floor, where all the important guests were gathered. The atmosphere was quieter than downstairs, and from their seats by the railing on the second floor, they could still see what was happening below. Chen Haoxuan had one of the best seats; he could see everything happening on the first floor while sitting high up.
Noticing that Ma Yichen was overly polite and seemed anxious about how to treat him, Chen Haoxuan felt uncomfortable and said, "Ma Yichen, why do I feel like we’re strangers?"
Ma Yichen understood what Chen Haoxuan meant and awkwardly replied, "The gap between us has become too large!"
Chen Haoxuan chuckled, "That's just a difference in status; our friendship hasn't changed at all. So there's no need for you to be so formal with me—just act like before."
"Okay then! I was just afraid you wouldn’t recognize me as your brother anymore," Ma Yichen said happily.
"Ma Yichen, today is your wife's birthday. What gift are you planning to give her?" Chen Haoxuan asked with a smile.
When it came to gifts, Ma Yichen grinned lewdly and said, "I bought her a set of lingerie; that's my gift for her. I'll give it to her when we go to bed later—heh heh..."
"Dude, you're really something else," Chen Haoxuan laughed as he patted Ma Yichen on the shoulder.
"Boss Chen, what gift are you planning to give my wife?" Ma Yichen asked eagerly. After all, Chen Haoxuan was now a billionaire with vast wealth; any gift he gave would surely be precious.
Chen Haoxuan took out a beautifully crafted bottle filled with green liquid. Ma Yichen exclaimed, "Is this perfume?"
Chen Haoxuan proudly introduced it, saying, "This is not perfume; it's a medicine. If you apply it to your skin, it will make your skin look amazing. Moreover, it's the best external wound medicine in the world. For cuts and gunshot wounds, just apply some on the wound, and it will heal by the next day without leaving any scars. If you have scars on your body, you can apply some too, and I guarantee that within a few hours, your scars will disappear. However, you must remember that this is for external use only, not for internal consumption."
"Wow, this medicine is so powerful! If Zhang Beining knew you were giving her such a precious gift, she would be very happy," Ma Yichen said excitedly. He understood the importance of this medicine to Zhang Beining. When she was young, she had been ill and had surgery, leaving a scar on her abdomen. Zhang Beining had always wanted to remove that scar but had found no success with any cosmetics. Now that Chen Haoxuan had this medicine that could treat wounds and improve skin appearance, he was sure Zhang Beining would love Chen Haoxuan's gift.
At that moment, Zhang Beining came out. As soon as she appeared, everyone congratulated her and personally handed their gifts to her. Zhang Beining accepted the gifts one after another, continuously expressing her gratitude.
Ma Yichen went downstairs to help Zhang Beining since there were too many people giving gifts. Chen Haoxuan decided to wait until everyone else finished giving their gifts before presenting his own. "Hmph! So you're just someone who eats for free? Just wait and see how I expose you later," the man sneered at Chen Haoxuan with disdainful eyes.
Chen Haoxuan was also irritated; he hadn't provoked this person at all. Why was this guy targeting him? He retorted angrily, "I'm curious; I don't know you, and you don't know me. Why are you bothering me?"
"Because I can't stand the sight of you," the man said before walking down the stairs.
