The person holding Chen Xiaonuo freed one hand and pulled a piece of cloth from his pocket, roughly stuffing it into Chen Xiaonuo's mouth. Chen Xiaonuo felt fear; she struggled desperately, making muffled sounds.
Qiuqiu, who had been perched on Chen Xiaonuo's shoulder, did not get thrown off even when Abel's men grabbed her. Although his intelligence was only that of a young child, he could tell that Chen Xiaonuo was unwilling to be held by someone else, which he could not tolerate. Chen Haoxuan had told him to protect Chen Xiaonuo and not let anyone bully her.
So, Qiuqiu climbed up the neck of the person holding Chen Xiaonuo, using his front paws to cling tightly to the neck of the bad guy. Abel's man felt a sharp pain in his neck, forcing him to drop Chen Xiaonuo immediately. He stopped and reached for whatever was gripping his neck.
Chen Xiaonuo fell to the ground. She sat up, pulled the cloth out of her mouth, and cried out loud, tears streaming down her face, looking pitiful.
"Quick, get this thing off my neck!" Abel's subordinate shouted at his companion.
"No way! Boss Abel ordered us not to accumulate any burdens this time. You handle it yourself! I need to take Chen Xiaonuo away immediately," said Abel's subordinate as he quickly ran toward Chen Xiaonuo.
Although Qiuqiu was desperately trying to hold onto the bad guy who had just grabbed Chen Xiaonuo, he saw another person trying to grab her and immediately ran back to protect her.
Abel's subordinate did not take Qiuqiu seriously and continued running toward Chen Xiaonuo.
Seeing Qiuqiu return made Chen Xiaonuo feel braver. With a sobbing voice, she said to Qiuqiu on her shoulder, "Qiuqiu, Xiao Nuo hates them. Please help Xiao Nuo teach them a lesson."
Qiuqiu listened intently to Chen Xiaonuo's words. Having spent so much time with her, he regarded her as an older sister. Even though Qiuqiu was older than Chen Xiaonuo in terms of age, being a mouse meant his intelligence was naturally lower than hers. Therefore, he always treated her like an older sister. Since his sister was being bullied, he had to stand up for her as a younger brother.
With a swift move, Qiuqiu charged at the bad guy running toward Chen Xiaonuo. He jumped onto the man's head and clawed at it fiercely. Qiuqiu was no ordinary mouse; with one powerful swipe, he could tear skin and flesh. Now it seemed like Qiuqiu had gone mad as he relentlessly attacked the man's head until the scalp was gone, leaving a gruesome sight. With a loud thud, Abel's subordinate collapsed to the ground, dead.
In the distance, Abel watched everything unfold. She had only brought three subordinates this time; now one was dead and another injured. If this continued, it would be very difficult for her to complete the mission.
Abel pulled out a silenced pistol and ran towards Chen Xiaonuo. She had already seen the danger posed by Qiuqiu; she needed to eliminate Qiuqiu and then escape with Chen Xiaonuo.
Abel's team from the Agent Division, all sharpshooters, rushed to Chen Xiaonuo's side and immediately opened fire on Qiuqiu. With a loud bang, Qiuqiu was shot and sent flying. He let out a pitiful scream, and while in mid-air, he coughed up blood. Abel's bullet was lodged in Qiuqiu's abdomen, half of it embedded inside him, leaving a gruesome sight.
Qiuqiu was too small, and the speed of the bullet was too fast for Chen Xiaonuo to realize that Qiuqiu had already been hit. After wiping her tears, she noticed Qiuqiu was gone and immediately shouted, "Qiuqiu! Qiuqiu…"
Abel quickly took out a cloth soaked in ether and pressed it against Chen Xiaonuo's mouth. She whimpered twice before fainting. Abel hurriedly picked up Chen Xiaonuo and ran away, disregarding her fallen subordinates; as long as she could complete her mission, it was worth any number of casualties.
The person who had first attacked Qiuqiu was now lying unconscious on the ground, his neck severely injured by Qiuqiu's claws. The wind blew over him, and if he wasn't taken to the hospital soon, he would never see Tomorrow's Sun again.
Ten minutes later, a miracle occurred: Qiuqiu was still alive. He shakily stood up and looked around but couldn't find Chen Xiaonuo. Panic set in; she must have been captured by those bad people. He gritted his teeth against the pain and headed home. Previously used as an experimental animal by Chen Haoxuan, he had endured worse suffering before, so he could withstand this.
When Qiuqiu reached his doorstep, he could run no more. He chirped incessantly at the bodyguards at the entrance. Everyone in Chen Family Village knew Qiuqiu well, especially Chen Haoxuan's bodyguards. Seeing Qiuqiu lying on the ground and chirping frantically, they rushed over and were shocked to find a bullet lodged in his abdomen. Bullets were not something ordinary people possessed; it indicated that Chen Xiaonuo was in danger. Otherwise, how could Qiuqiu have been shot? Typically, he would never leave Chen Xiaonuo's side.
"Xiao Wu, hurry and take Qiuqiu to the hospital! You must save him! I will immediately notify everyone to rescue Xiao Nuo," one bodyguard urgently told his companion.
Xiao Wu wasted no time; he gently picked up Qiuqiu in his arms and ran towards the hospital.
Another bodyguard rushed back to the villa and shouted loudly, "Something has happened! Everyone gather quickly! Something has happened…"
In less than a minute, Jiang Dong and others in the villa assembled. "What happened?" Lin Hao asked sternly of the guarding bodyguard.
"Qiuqiu has been shot in the abdomen by someone unknown; he is currently being taken to the hospital by Xiao Wu for treatment. I suspect Xiao Nuo is in danger. Captain, we need to go rescue Xiao Nuo!" The bodyguard said anxiously to Lin Hao.
Hearing his subordinate's words, Lin Hao felt fear and guilt in his heart. Their mission was to protect Chen Haoxuan's family. They ate Chen Haoxuan's food, used Chen Haoxuan's resources, spent Chen Haoxuan's money, lived in Chen Haoxuan's place, and even their current strength was given to them by Chen Haoxuan. But what had they done for Chen Haoxuan? It seemed like they had done nothing at all, which made him feel guilty.
"Do you know where Xiao Nuo is right now?" Lin Hao asked anxiously.
"I don't know, but just before she left... she said she was going to see a performance. I think she should be at one of the places where the shows are being held," the bodyguard replied.
"Leave ten people here; everyone else come with me. If you encounter any suspicious individuals, make sure to capture them. If they resist violently, don't hesitate to eliminate them," Lin Hao said loudly.
