Two years later, Chen Haoxuan's business stabilized, and he decided not to pursue further expansion. With so many industries under his management, he needed to ensure they were well-managed to avoid significant risks.
After two exhausting years, Chen Haoxuan planned to take a vacation with his wife and children. They were heading to the Nameless Island, which was previously managed by Black Rose, a place Chen Haoxuan had always remembered for its beautiful scenery. He had purchased the Nameless Island along with the government. Although he owned it now, Chen Haoxuan did not change anything there; the wooden cabins and existing structures remained as they were because he felt they were already beautiful. Building new structures would only detract from the island's aesthetic.
When Chen Haoxuan flew his family to the Nameless Island in a helicopter, they were amazed. They couldn't believe such a beautiful place existed in the world.
"Welcome to this beautiful little island, ladies and children!" Chen Haoxuan exclaimed loudly as they disembarked from the plane.
"Oh yay, oh yay, oh yay..." Chen Xiaonuo and the others cheered joyfully, bouncing around.
"Haoxuan, why don't we just move here permanently?" Chen Yina suggested, expressing her desire to live in such a beautiful place.
"No way! We are humans, and humans are social creatures. If we separate from our community, what will we do? Where will our son find a wife? Who will our daughter marry? Losing our pursuits means losing the joy of being human. Therefore, we can only play here but not live here," Chen Haoxuan replied.
Then he called out loudly, "Everyone listen up! Go gather firewood; we will roast fish later."
Chen Xiaonuo and the others happily bounced off to collect firewood with Chen Yina while Chen Haoxuan took off his clothes and jumped into the sea. After all, if he didn't catch fish, how could they have roasted fish?
Chen Haoxuan had always been a good swimmer, and now as a Gene Warrior, his abilities were even more impressive. He caught several large fish underwater and placed them in a fish cage left behind by Black Rose's group.
He stopped after catching twenty large fish, each weighing two to three pounds. After handing the fish over to Chen Yina and the others, he grabbed a large waterproof flashlight and jumped back into the ocean. During his previous time living on this island, he had heard that there were many shells in the nearby waters that contained pearls. However, due to strict controls on the island, there was no diving equipment available for anyone brave enough to dive deep for shells and pearls.
Now that Chen Haoxuan possessed such formidable strength, he dared to dive deep even without diving equipment. The depths of the ocean lacked sunlight. Armed with his flashlight, he continued diving deeper and encountered many strange and colorful fish along the way—some vibrant and some plump...
Chen Haoxuan's diving speed was faster than that of a fish. With each stroke, his body shot down into the depths like a rocket. Despite this, it took him half an hour to reach the ocean floor. There, he encountered immense wealth; the first thing he saw was coral, not just any coral, but centuries-old specimens, some even thousands of years old.
The water pressure at the bottom was overwhelming, and even Chen Haoxuan felt the strain. After half an hour without breathing, he reached his limit. To alleviate his discomfort, he quickly caught a fish over a meter long. With a powerful grip, he tore the fish in half and grabbed its swim bladder, which was about the size of a bowl.
Most fish have swim bladders, which account for about 5% of their body volume. They can be oval, conical, heart-shaped, or horseshoe-shaped. The gases inside the swim bladder mainly consist of oxygen, ammonia, and carbon dioxide, with oxygen being the most abundant. Therefore, in low-oxygen environments, the swim bladder can serve as an auxiliary respiratory organ to provide oxygen for the fish.
This is why Chen Haoxuan killed the fish to obtain its swim bladder; he needed the oxygen inside it. After taking a breath from it, he felt much better and continued to admire the underwater world.
Chen Haoxuan had already seen quite a few shells but had yet to find any large ones. Since he had plenty of time, he wasn't in a hurry and decided to search for several large pearls to give to Chen Yina and her companions.
After searching for ten minutes, Chen Haoxuan finally found one that satisfied him. He spotted a shell as big as a basin and excitedly swam over. He knocked on it to check if it was empty but was surprised to find it indeed empty; his knock shattered the entire shell into pieces.
As he cleared away the fragments of the shell, he discovered a massive pearl, about the size of three baby fists. With five wives to share with, three pearls were not enough for him. Chen Haoxuan continued his search and was fortunate enough to find another shell as large as a basin that was still alive. Using his divine power, he pried it open and retrieved five pearls. Now with eight pearls in total, Chen Haoxuan felt satisfied and kicked off from the ocean floor like a rocket shooting upwards.
Meanwhile, Chen Yina and her companions had already grilled all the fish but were growing impatient since Chen Haoxuan had not yet resurfaced; their stomachs were rumbling with hunger.
As soon as Chen Haoxuan broke through the surface of the water, he took a deep breath. While underwater, he felt as if a mountain was pressing down on him; now that he had surfaced, it felt as though gravity had vanished from his body—a very pleasant sensation.
Chen Yina and her friends had been staring at the sea surface for an hour when they finally saw Chen Haoxuan emerge. They all shouted loudly: "Haoxuan! Haoxuan! What are you doing? Come back and eat grilled fish!"
Chen Xiaonuo and her little treasures chimed in sweetly: "Daddy! Xiao Nuo! Baby... we’re hungry! Hurry back!"
Seeing that Chen Yina and her friends were calling for him, Chen Haoxuan quickly swam toward the shore. Once there, without hesitation, he instructed them to line up with their hands cupped as if holding something and then closed their eyes. One by one, he placed the pearls he had just collected into their palms—one for each person—while deciding to deal with the three extra pearls later.
"Alright, you can open your eyes now," Chen Haoxuan said with a smile.
When Chen Yina and the others discovered what was in their palms, they all gasped, "Wow, such big pearls!"
