When they returned to the dormitory, Du Xiaonan was already awake. She sat on the bed, staring blankly outside, showing no reaction even when the two of them entered.
"Xiaonan, are you awake? How are you feeling? Is there anywhere that feels uncomfortable?" Su Jin'er asked as she stood by the bed.
Du Xiaonan remained unresponsive, hugging her knees against the wall, completely still, like a statue.
Su Jin'er exchanged glances with Linyuan and then climbed onto Du Xiaonan's bed. "Xiaonan, where did you go to investigate? What exactly happened?"
"She came. She wants to kill us all. We are all going to die."
Her words came out rapidly, like beans spilling from a bag, her eyes filled with fear. Yet, despite this, her gaze remained fixed ahead.
"Who? Who do you mean came?"
"She came. Go away! Don't come looking for me."
"Be careful!"
Du Xiaonan suddenly went wild, forcefully pushing Su Jin'er away from her. Caught off guard, Su Jin'er nearly fell off the bed.
Du Xiaonan curled up in the corner, clutching her shoulders and looking fearfully out the window. But there was nothing outside; no one knew what she truly saw.
"What should we do? Right now, we can't get anything out of her because of her mental state. Qian Qian has been missing for a day; I wonder if she is in any danger?"
"Should we call the police?"
"Even if we call the police, we have to wait 48 hours. Let's first find out what happened five years ago and who this 'she' that Du Xiaonan mentioned is."
"What about Du Xiaonan? Look at her like this."
Su Jin'er turned to look at Du Xiaonan on the bed, her eyes widening in surprise. When did Du Xiaonan quietly lie down and fall asleep?
"When did she go to sleep?" she asked with a trembling voice.

What exactly happened to Du Xiaonan? Why had she become abnormal after returning? Where had they gone?
Seeing that Du Xiaonan was asleep, Su Jin'er said, "Forget it, let's first see what happened five years ago!"
They sat down and began to sift through the thick documents.
Most of the documents were school records about what activities the school held and what events they participated in—some useless information. However, among those activities, they found the name Li Yiqing, and another name caught their attention. It was a girl's name; from the documents, it appeared to be Li Yiqing's good friend. That girl was named Liu Mengmeng, who lived in the same dormitory as Li Yiqing, meaning she also lived in Room 414 and was not dead. So where was she now? Would she know any details?
"We need to investigate this Liu Mengmeng," Su Jin'er said while flipping through the documents.
"Jin'er, look here!" Su Jin'er leaned over to Linyuan. "Student Li Yiqing from the class of '76 committed suicide due to academic pressure. Her best friend Liu Mengmeng fell seriously ill from the shock and then dropped out."

The autumn air was growing stronger, with most of the leaves already fallen. The few remaining leaves trembled in the autumn wind, barely able to withstand its fury, swaying precariously.
Next came a series of strange occurrences they encountered after entering the school.
