Ian only remembered that day when he hid under the bed, listening to his mother being badly bullied by his father. His mother begged many times, but his father kept hitting her.
He wanted to prove that he could protect his mother too, so he straightened his back even more: "Mom's weapon is for protection. Mom used it to defeat the Great Electric Eel!"
Xia Yangyang gasped and quickly glanced at Victor. Sure enough, he had a sinister smile.
"Where did you take my son? Was it to those Electric Eels in the Coral Forbidden Zone?"
Xia Yangyang didn't dare to nod, let alone argue, "He will never go to such dangerous places again, I swear on my life."

Victor squatted down, appearing calm and even smiling, but only Xia Yangyang knew this was a true sign of his anger.

"You acknowledge her as your mother; you are somewhat ridiculous."
"Mom is Mom."
Victor laughed. He suddenly lowered his voice, "Do you want me to tell you again how I saved you from the human dissection table?"
Ian's face turned pale as if he recalled something terrifying.
At that moment, Xia Yangyang finally learned all the details of the perilous situation from back then.
But what kind of father would use such terrifying memories to provoke his own child? That was simply too cruel.
"Enough, Victor. If you're angry, take it out on me, not my son."
But Victor was not listening. He wanted to transfer his hatred onto Ian, and this pathological obsession blinded him to the inappropriateness of his actions.

"Go back to your palace and play!"

At the mention of land, Victor scoffed. "Good son, tell her whether you'd rather stay in the ocean or on land."
"I will always be with Dad."
Ian's voice trembled, as if he was terrified of something.
Xia Yangyang sensed that something was wrong.
What is Ian afraid of? Did Victor threaten him?
The system hesitated to speak; it had never told the host that the life consumed by the Heart of the Ocean would be cursed by sunlight for a lifetime.
Victor seized the moment: "Xia Yangyang, you clearly have the ability to protect yourself, yet you refuse to protect Ian until the very last moment. You obviously lack the awareness and qualifications of a mother."
These words were directed at Ian.
Sure enough, after hearing this, Ian instinctively burrowed deeper into Victor's embrace, as if this was his only refuge.
Victor smiled triumphantly: "Ian, it's better if I take care of you alone. As for you, I will let you watch helplessly as the ocean swallows the land."
He cast a disdainful glance before turning away with his son in his arms.
Before leaving, he set up a Water Barrier to prevent her from escaping, leaving her trapped within the palace.
