Luo Bingbing paused briefly before continuing, "Before tomorrow's test, you must inform them of this matter. Additionally, during the test, arrange for them to compete one-on-one. The winners will then face each other in subsequent rounds, eliminating candidates layer by layer until we have the final ten who will be the candidates for the Dark King and the envoy."
Shadowless, upon hearing Luo Bingbing's words, couldn't help but admire her in silence: "This Young Mistress is truly impressive! This selection method is not only fast but also highly efficient."
As Shadowless was lost in thought, he heard Luo Bingbing's clear and youthful voice nearby.
"After the test tomorrow, I will return. You need to stay here to supervise and ensure everything is arranged properly. We need to build a palace here, and when hiring craftsmen from outside, be cautious not to expose yourselves or this headquarters. Pay special attention to Wuyang; train him to be someone capable of standing alone. In the future, if you are not at the Dark Gate, he should be able to guard this place."
After listening to Luo Bingbing's instructions, Shadowless quickly replied, "Yes, Master! I will make sure it is done."
Luo Bingbing nodded slightly and waved her hand, signaling that Shadowless could leave. Seeing her gesture, Shadowless swiftly vanished from her sight and melted into the shadows.
Once Shadowless was gone, Luo Bingbing went to bed to rest. She felt that everything was in order and was quite relaxed, a faint smile gracing her lips as she drifted into slumber. Unbeknownst to her, she had already fallen into someone's scheme, and that schemer was waiting for her at Prince Luo's Residence.
Undoubtedly, that schemer was the Snow Spirit Elder from Ling Mountain. After parting ways with Luo Bingbing, he headed towards Prince Luo's Residence.
Before long, he arrived at the entrance of Prince Luo's Residence. He intended to lure Luo Bingbing back to Ling Mountain, but doing so directly from her side was impossible. Therefore, he decided to approach Lo An Lord first, hoping to take Luo Bingbing as his disciple through him and bring her back to Ling Mountain.
Normally, he would never flaunt his status; however, in order to have Luo Bingbing as his disciple, he had no choice but to use his renowned identity as the Snow Spirit Elder.
When he reached the entrance of Prince Luo's Residence late at night, there were no guards present. Undeterred by this fact, he approached the door and knocked loudly.
Since it was the middle of the night and everyone in the residence was asleep, he knocked for quite some time without any response or anyone coming out to open the door. Yet he remained undeterred; instead of stopping, he knocked even harder and louder.
The sound of knocking echoed continuously at Prince Luo's Residence's door; it would have been impossible for anyone inside not to hear it. Soon enough, those inside began to notice the loud knocking from outside.
Consequently, the young servant on night watch quickly got out of bed and called out while walking towards the door, "Coming! Coming!"
He slowly walked to the front door and shouted through the crack, "Who is it? Who's out there?"
Hearing his words, the Snow Spirit Elder outside the door stopped knocking and replied loudly, "It's me, the Snow Spirit Elder from Spirit Mountain."
The Snow Spirit Elder thought that after announcing his renowned title, the door would immediately open, and he would be invited inside. However, he did not expect to encounter someone so ignorant who had never heard of his name.
The man listened to the Snow Spirit Elder and silently pondered for a moment, confirming that he had never heard of the Snow Spirit Elder nor seen him before. Thus, he scolded loudly, "I don't care if you're the Snow Spirit Elder or the Rain Spirit Elder; don't knock on my door in the middle of the night. This is Prince Luo's Residence, not a place for you to act recklessly. Get lost! Otherwise, I'll have you taken to the Ministry of Justice."
The Snow Spirit Elder was furious upon hearing such disrespectful words. After all, he had lived for nearly sixty years and had never encountered anyone who dared to speak to him in such a manner.
In a fit of anger, he gathered his internal energy and shouted towards Prince Luo's Residence, "What? You dare tell me to get lost? Call out Lo An Lord; I am his daughter's master!" He spoke with great indignation! However, the young servant standing behind the door was drenched in cold sweat. Of course, he controlled his internal voice well enough that only those inside Prince Luo's Residence could hear him; those outside could not catch a word.
Lo An Lord was playing chess with Zhou Gong when he suddenly heard the furious voice of the Snow Spirit Elder. Startled awake by the angry tone, he immediately ordered the guards outside his study to go check what was happening at the front door. After giving his orders, he quickly got up and called for a maid to help him change and groom himself. He had been busy investigating internal traitors in the military lately and had been staying overnight in his study to handle matters swiftly.
Upon hearing his command, the guards swiftly made their way to the front door.
The young servant felt guilty and frightened after hearing that the Snow Spirit Elder claimed to be their Princess's master; he froze in place.
After waiting for a moment outside the door and seeing that it remained tightly shut with no sign of anyone inside wanting to open it, the Snow Spirit Elder grew even angrier. He gathered his internal energy once more and shouted loudly towards Prince Luo's Residence again, "Damn Dog Servant! If you don't open this door soon, Old Man will smash down the gate of Prince Luo's Residence!"
The Snow Spirit Elder's voice reached Lo An Lord's ears again. Lo An Lord frowned slightly, pondering who could be speaking so boldly. Suddenly, he recalled that among his three daughters, only Bing Bing had ever taken a master. After carefully recalling the voice he just heard, he became certain that it belonged to the Snow Spirit Elder from Spirit Mountain.
Thus, he instructed someone to light a lamp and quickly made his way toward the front door himself to welcome the Snow Spirit Elder.
Meanwhile, the guard who had been sent by Lo An Lord to check on the situation at the front door had not left the study for long when he heard once again from outside: it was the voice of the Snow Spirit Elder. Recognizing it, he quickened his pace.
From a distance, he saw a night watchman standing at the gate, and it just so happened to be someone he recognized and was familiar with. So, he called out, "Little Shunzi, what's going on? The prince sent me to ask you what the matter is."
The night watchman was taken aback when he heard the first words from Snow Spirit Elder, but he quickly regained his composure after hearing the second. Previously unaware that Snow Spirit Elder was the master of his family's Princess, he had spoken quite rudely. Now, fear gripped his heart.
He thought for a moment, struggling internally. To keep his job and ensure that his elderly mother and children had food to eat and wouldn't go hungry, he forced himself to suppress his nervousness and wanted to deny Snow Spirit Elder's words, urging him to leave quickly. However, before he could say anything, a voice from behind him—the guard sent by Lo An Lord to inquire—interrupted.
Immediately abandoning his thoughts, he slowly turned around and said, "Oh, it's Liang Guard! Someone claiming to be the Princess's master is knocking at the door, but I haven't heard of any Princess in the palace taking on a master!"
Naturally, Snow Spirit Elder heard his words from outside the gate and immediately shouted, "Hurry up and open the door! Tell your Lo An Lord that Snow Spirit Elder has arrived; he should come out to greet me."
The two inside were stunned upon hearing Snow Spirit Elder's words, both thinking: Who is this person outside knocking on the door that dares to call for the prince to come out and greet him?
It was still the guard sent by Lo An Lord who first regained his senses. He quickly opened the gate and politely asked, "Elder, do you wish to see my lord?"
Upon hearing this, Snow Spirit Elder disdainfully replied, "Of course! Old Man is your Princess's master—the Snow Spirit Elder from Ling Mountain. Hurry up and tell your lord to come out and welcome me."
"Elder, please wait a moment while I report to my lord," the guard responded hastily after hearing Snow Spirit Elder's words.
Seeing that the guard was so polite, Snow Spirit Elder felt his anger dissipate by half and calmly said, "Alright, go ahead!"
The guard quickly turned to report to Lo An Lord.
Meanwhile, the little attendant realized that things were beyond his control and hurriedly sought a way to remedy the situation. He swiftly knelt before Snow Spirit Elder, tears streaming down his face as he pleaded, "Elder! I truly have been blind and foolish; I deserve death for being so disrespectful! Please show mercy!"
Snow Spirit Elder was inherently a laid-back person. Seeing the attendant continuously repentant and begging for forgiveness annoyed him greatly. He shouted loudly, "Enough already! Get lost! Old Man won't hold your earlier offense against you."
Upon hearing this from Snow Spirit Elder, the attendant quickly got up and cheerfully invited him inside. However, Snow Spirit Elder refused to enter until Lo An Lord came out to greet him. Thus, the attendant silently stepped aside to wait.
As Liang Guard made his way to Lo An Lord's study, he encountered Lo An Lord himself, who was on his way to personally welcome Snow Spirit Elder. Liang Guard hurried forward and bowed, saying, "Your servant pays his respects to the lord! Wishing you good fortune!"
Lo An Lord spotted him from a distance and, after he finished his greeting, asked, "What happened at the main gate? Did someone claiming to be Snow Spirit Elder arrive?"
Just as Liang Guard was about to answer the first question, Lo An Lord posed a second one. Upon hearing it, Liang Guard's mind went blank, and he thought to himself: The lord is truly remarkable; he knew who was knocking at the door without even seeing them. It seemed he was going to greet Snow Spirit Elder at the gate—what foresight! This thought only deepened his admiration for Lo An Lord.
Though his thoughts were drifting far away, he remembered that Lo An Lord was waiting for his response. He quickly pulled his wandering thoughts back and replied, "Reporting to the lord, indeed an elder claiming to be Snow Spirit Elder has arrived at the main gate, and..."
At this point, the guard hesitated to continue and stole a glance at Lo An Lord. Lo An Lord was waiting for him to elaborate but noticed that he had fallen silent and was looking at him nervously. Seeing his hesitant expression, Lo An Lord understood that there was something he was reluctant to say. So, he raised his voice and scolded, "If you have something to say, just say it quickly! Stop stammering!"
After hearing this, Liang Guard steeled himself and quickly said with his eyes closed, "And that Snow Spirit Elder wants you to personally go out and greet him."
He thought that after saying such an impolite thing to Lo An Lord, he would surely be furious. He braced himself for a terrible outcome. However, after waiting for a while, instead of the expected wrath, he heard Lo An Lord's joyful laughter. This left him stunned and confused.
Lo An Lord paid no mind to the guard's expression; upon hearing his words, he laughed heartily and said, "Haha! I was just about to go out and greet him!" With that, he strode forward.
Liang Guard was astonished by Lo An Lord's reaction and thought: How could that Snow Spirit Elder be so rude to the lord? Yet the lord seemed not only unbothered but also quite pleased to go greet him.
Lo An Lord walked briskly to the entrance of the residence. From a distance, he saw Snow Spirit Elder standing in the center of the gate. He quickened his pace and called out loudly, "Elder! I apologize for not welcoming you properly!"
As soon as he reached the steps at the entrance, he slightly cupped his hands in respect and said, "I have heard about what happened earlier; it is due to my lax management! May I ask what brings you here so late?"
After speaking, he fixed his gaze on Snow Spirit Elder, waiting for a reply. Suddenly, a crucial question crossed his mind: Why wasn't his beloved daughter with Snow Spirit Elder? So he asked aloud, "Elder, where is Little Girl? Wasn't she with you?"
Snow Spirit Elder had been uncertain about whether Luo Bingbing had returned or not until he heard Lo An Lord's words. Now he was certain that she had not come back yet.
He stroked his graying beard with an air of wisdom and calmly replied without showing any signs of fatigue or embarrassment, "The child mentioned she had some matters to attend to and asked me to wait for her here at Prince Luo's Residence. Once she finishes her business, she will return."
Since Lo An Lord had regarded Snow Spirit Elder as his beloved daughter's mentor, he naturally believed what Snow Spirit Elder said without question. However, after hearing those words, a series of doubts began swirling in his mind: What could be so urgent that Little Girl needed to handle it overnight? Why did she send Snow Spirit Elder back alone instead of having him help her with it? With all these questions lingering in his heart and no one but Luo Bingbing able to answer them, he resolved to wait for her return before seeking clarity on these matters.
Despite the many questions swirling in his mind, he did not forget that standing before him was the master of his beloved daughter. Thus, he quickly tucked away his doubts and said to the Snow Spirit Elder, "Senior, please come in."
The Snow Spirit Elder nodded slightly to Lo An Lord before following him inside. Although he appeared calm and composed on the surface, inside he was quite excited, secretly reveling in his own cleverness!
Indeed, he had intentionally used his internal energy to unleash those two lion roars directed at Prince Luo's Residence. Why? Naturally, it was to let everyone in Prince Luo's Residence know that he had arrived, leading many to mistakenly believe that he was Luo Bingbing's master.
Since it was the middle of the night, a time for rest and sleep, Lo An Lord did not take the Snow Spirit Elder to The Hall of the Wangfu but instead led him directly to Luo Bingbing's Piaoyun Pavilion.
On their way to Piaoyun Pavilion, they did not waste any time and chatted as they walked. Lo An Lord politely said to the Snow Spirit Elder, "Senior, has Little Girl caused you any trouble over the years?"
Upon hearing Lo An Lord's words, the Snow Spirit Elder quickly replied, "Not at all! It is truly a blessing for an old man like me to have a disciple like her." This statement was sincere; it reflected his true feelings.
Lo An Lord felt very pleased upon hearing the Snow Spirit Elder's words. Even the renowned Snow Spirit Elder praised his daughter for being capable; how could he not be happy? After all, she was his daughter! Without him, would someone as clever as Luo Bingbing even exist in this world? His heart swelled with pride!
Suddenly, Lo An Lord recalled that the Snow Spirit Elder had mentioned earlier that his beloved daughter was handling some matters outside. He wanted to know what those matters were. So he asked, "Senior, may I ask what Bing Bing is currently dealing with outside?"
The Snow Spirit Elder paused for a moment in thought before responding casually, "The girl has always been quite independent; she usually doesn't share her matters with me. So honestly, I don't know what she's handling!" He paused again and continued, "But don't worry! Her martial arts skills have reached an extraordinary level; I truly can't think of anyone in this world who could harm her."
Lo An Lord was shocked by the Snow Spirit Elder's words. He stood there dumbfounded and mechanically asked, "Could it be that Little Girl's martial arts are already superior to yours?"
"Well! Not quite yet," the Snow Spirit Elder replied sincerely. "But it won't be long before she is nearly there."
As the saying goes, "The speaker has no intention while the listener is intent." Lo An Lord's heart raced with excitement, and naturally, he felt even prouder.
As they spoke, they had already arrived at the entrance of Piaoyun Pavilion. Lo An Lord nodded slightly to a nearby guard, who then stepped forward to knock on the door.
After a moment, a maid on night watch opened the door from inside. Lo An Lord led the Snow Spirit Elder inside. Upon hearing Lo An Lord's voice, the nursemaid quickly got up from her bed. She was worried about Luo Bingbing since she had not returned yet and had been unable to sleep. Just when she finally managed to doze off, Lo An Lord arrived with the Snow Spirit Elder at Piaoyun Pavilion.
As Lord Lo An led the Snow Spirit Elder into the grand hall of Piaoyun Pavilion, the Nursemaid entered through a small door nearby. Upon seeing Lord Lo An, she hurried over to him and bowed.
"Greetings, my lord! Wishing you good fortune!"
After a slight nod, Lord Lo An pointed to the Snow Spirit Elder beside him and said to the Nursemaid, "This is the master of Little Princess—Snow Spirit Elder. Go prepare a guest room for him immediately."
Upon hearing Lord Lo An's words, the Nursemaid quickly bowed to the Snow Spirit Elder and then excused herself to prepare a room. However, she was quite surprised to learn that this Snow Spirit Elder was indeed the master of their Little Princess, having never seen him before. Yet, she was certain that he must be quite formidable since he had taught her young mistress. Thus, she naturally assumed that the Snow Spirit Elder was exceptionally skilled.
The Snow Spirit Elder noticed that none of the other maids or servants from Piaoyun Pavilion had entered the hall; only the Nursemaid had come in. He took a few more glances at her, thinking that her position in Piaoyun Pavilion must be significant and that she could help him get closer to that Little Doll.
Before long, the Nursemaid returned to report to Lord Lo An in the hall that the room had been prepared. Lord Lo An then instructed her to take the Snow Spirit Elder down to rest while he himself got up to continue his chess game with Zhou Gong.
Due to the two lion roars from the Snow Spirit Elder last night, everyone in Prince Luo's Residence knew that a guest had arrived late at night—specifically, the master of their Little Princess and now also the master of the current head of the household.
The Snow Spirit Elder was the Sect Leader of Ling Mountain, renowned for his martial prowess. Countless people sought him out as a teacher for guidance. While others in the residence dared not act rashly, Lord Lo An and Strategist Gongsun Ming visited Piaoyun Pavilion daily to seek his advice.
That day, as usual, Lord Lo An and Strategist Gongsun Ming arrived at Piaoyun Pavilion to request guidance from the Snow Spirit Elder. After listening to his instructions, they practiced in the courtyard while the Snow Spirit Elder sat on a nearby recliner, advising them on their skills and openings.
"My lord, attack his right flank."
"Gongsun, target his rear opening."
"My lord, use Iron Hook Fist."
"…"
The Snow Spirit Elder continuously offered corrections when suddenly he noticed a slight movement in his ear. Without needing to look, he knew it was that little boy again secretly watching them practice behind the rockery. Not only did the Snow Spirit Elder know about Little Beggar Luo Yi hiding behind the rockery to observe their training, but so did Lord Lo An and Strategist Gongsun Ming. They were aware that Luo Bingbing had brought back a little beggar who was watching them practice but paid it no mind, thinking he was just a curious child. Little did they know that this Little Beggar Luo Yi was seriously trying to learn their martial arts techniques.
One night, he became so engrossed in his practice that he made quite a commotion. Since both he and the Snow Spirit Elder resided in the Piaoyun Pavilion, the Snow Spirit Elder quickly picked up on the noise.
Following the sound, the Snow Spirit Elder found Little Beggar Luo Yi secretly practicing the skills taught by Lo An Lord and Strategist Gongsun Ming. Seeing how earnestly he was learning, the Snow Spirit Elder decided not to disturb him. Without any internal energy or advanced martial arts, Luo Yi was completely unaware that the Snow Spirit Elder was observing him from the shadows.
One day, as usual, Little Beggar Luo Yi was practicing alone, but he struggled to execute the skills correctly. As the saying goes, "The emperor is not anxious, but the eunuch is." The Snow Spirit Elder, who had been watching him from hiding, noticed his repeated failures and quickly jumped out to offer guidance.
He anxiously said, "Your hands shouldn't be positioned like that; your legs need to be straightened. Otherwise, you won't achieve any effect."
Startled by the sudden voice of the Snow Spirit Elder, Luo Yi halted his kicking motion. He slowly turned around and looked weakly at the Snow Spirit Elder across from him.
He thought that he had been discreetly hiding behind a rock during the day to observe Lo An Lord and others practice their skills and carefully training at night without anyone knowing. Little did he realize that his actions had long been an open secret to Lo An Lord and the others; they simply pretended not to notice him.
After speaking, the Snow Spirit Elder paid no mind to Luo Yi's thoughts or expressions. He walked over and adjusted Luo Yi's hands and feet into the correct positions while saying, "Little Doll, you need to position yourself like this to achieve any effect. Otherwise, what you just did has no power at all." He paused for a moment, glanced at Little Beggar Luo Yi a few times, and continued, "Forget it. Since you are working so hard and taking it seriously, and considering you are related to my dear disciple, I will make an exception and guide you! Tomorrow, you don't need to hide behind that rock anymore; just practice with Lo An Lord and the others in the courtyard!"
Upon hearing this from the Snow Spirit Elder, Little Beggar Luo Yi was taken aback. He looked up at the Snow Spirit Elder as if trying to discern his intentions through his eyes. Having been a beggar in the past and having experienced life's hardships, he was very sensitive to people's attitudes toward him and wary of outsiders. So when he heard what the Snow Spirit Elder said, he fixed his gaze on him intently, wanting to understand why the Snow Spirit Elder was being so kind.
No matter how hard he looked or thought about it, he couldn't fathom what was truly on the Snow Spirit Elder's mind or what his intentions were.
The Snow Spirit Elder seemed to understand his thoughts perfectly well and allowed him to observe openly while keeping his true intentions tucked away in a corner of his heart. However, he had no ulterior motives; he simply wanted to get closer to those around Luo Bingbing and become familiar with them as a foundation for successfully taking Luo Bingbing as a disciple and bringing her back to Ling Mountain.
Little Beggar Luo Yi stared at the Snow Spirit Elder for a long time without uncovering his true intentions before finally shifting his gaze elsewhere. Seeing that Luo Yi had finally diverted his sharp gaze away from him, the Snow Spirit Elder knew he had passed his mental test.
Thus, he initiated a conversation with Little Beggar Luo Yi. The Snow Spirit Elder slowly asked, "Little Doll, what is your name?" Since he didn't concern himself with trivial matters or meddle in others' affairs, he had no idea that Luo Yi was the little beggar brought back by Luo Bingbing not long ago; instead, he assumed Luo Yi was some young master from Prince Luo's Residence.
After hearing this question from the Snow Spirit Elder, Little Beggar Luo Yi turned his attention back to him. Noticing that there was no malice in the Snow Spirit Elder's demeanor or any hint of disdain in his eyes made him relax his guard significantly. He replied earnestly, "Elder, please don’t call me Little Doll; I have my own name given by my master—I'm called Luo Yi."
Upon hearing this response from Little Beggar Luo Yi, the Snow Spirit Elder was quite surprised. He couldn't help but think to himself: "Could it be that this Little Doll isn't a young master from Prince Luo's Residence? Then why does he share the same surname?"
Not knowing the reason behind it, he quickly asked, "Are you surnamed Luo? Aren't you the young master from Prince Luo's Residence?"
Upon hearing the words of the Snow Spirit Elder, Little Beggar Luo Yi nodded slightly to indicate his affirmation.
After receiving Little Beggar Luo Yi's confirmation, the Snow Spirit Elder couldn't help but ask, "Then who is your master?"
Hearing the Snow Spirit Elder's question, Luo Yi immediately perked up, his eyes shining brightly as he excitedly said, "My master is the Little Princess from Prince Luo's Residence, and she is also the owner of this Piaoyun Pavilion where you are currently staying. Although she is still very young, her martial skills are already quite impressive." He paused for a moment, sizing up the Snow Spirit Elder from head to toe and left to right before slowly adding, "I think your martial skills aren't as strong as my master's!"
Upon hearing Little Beggar Luo Yi's words, the Snow Spirit Elder realized that his master was indeed the girl he wanted to take as his disciple. The thought that he couldn't defeat that girl made his old face flush slightly. Since it was late at night and quite dark, Luo Yi standing opposite him didn't notice that the Snow Spirit Elder had turned red from his words.
Although the Snow Spirit Elder's face was flushed, he stubbornly retorted, "Who says Old Man's martial skills are not as good as hers? Old Man's skills are among the best in the world." After a brief pause, he continued without losing his composure, "Do you know that your so-called impressive master is actually my precious disciple?"
Hearing the Snow Spirit Elder's excited words, Little Beggar Luo Yi was stunned and momentarily lost his train of thought. However, seeing that he had managed to astonish Little Beggar Luo Yi, the Snow Spirit Elder felt that he had regained some face. Thus, he smugly said, "Is it possible that I, as a master, am not as skilled as my own disciple?"
Luo Yi quickly snapped back to reality after hearing the Snow Spirit Elder's words. He hurriedly knelt before the Snow Spirit Elder and said, "I apologize for my earlier rudeness; please forgive me!"
The Snow Spirit Elder was a very easygoing person. Seeing Little Beggar Luo Yi suddenly bowing so deeply to him made him quickly urge him to rise. He instructed him to practice in the courtyard on time tomorrow before swiftly disappearing from Luo Yi's sight to return to his room for sleep.
Little Beggar Luo Yi remained in a state of excitement and had not yet regained his calm. So when he saw that the Snow Spirit Elder had left, he couldn't help but break into a silly grin all by himself. To others, it might have seemed like a foolish smile, but for him, it was a joyful and exhilarating laugh because he felt one step closer to becoming stronger and one step closer to his master, Luo Bingbing.
Yet despite his joy, he did not forget the Snow Spirit Elder's parting words. Gradually calming himself down, he quietly slipped back into his room to rest.
The next day, Little Beggar Luo Yi was practicing diligently in the courtyard of Piaoyun Pavilion early in the morning. At that time, Lord Lo An and Strategist Gongsun Ming had not yet arrived at the courtyard; even the Snow Spirit Elder residing in Piaoyun Pavilion had not yet come out of his room. Thus, at that moment, only Little Beggar Luo Yi was working hard on his practice.
When the Snow Spirit Elder finished breakfast and strolled into the courtyard, he saw Luo Yi practicing alone. Although his posture wasn't very standard, he was practicing with great seriousness and diligence. The Snow Spirit Elder couldn't help but nod approvingly in his heart upon witnessing such dedication and focus.
While the Snow Spirit Elder was silently nodding in approval, Strategist Gongsun Ming appeared at the entrance of the courtyard. Seeing Little Beggar Luo Yi concentrating on his practice made him secretly admire him. He slowly walked over to stand beside the Snow Spirit Elder and said, "Senior, it seems that Little Princess did not misjudge this child; he's truly a promising talent!"
Upon hearing his words, the Snow Spirit Elder nodded in agreement, saying, "Indeed, this child is a good seedling. He is willing to put in the effort and can endure hardship; he will surely achieve great things in the future."
Just as they were engrossed in their conversation, Lo An Lord appeared at the entrance of the courtyard. From a distance, he saw the Snow Spirit Elder and Strategist Gongsun Ming animatedly chatting on the corridor. As he approached, he noticed Little Beggar Luo Yi diligently practicing in the center of the courtyard. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow but chose not to speak, slowly walking toward where the Snow Spirit Elder and the strategist stood.
The Snow Spirit Elder and the strategist had already noticed his arrival. However, one was a renowned elder and the other a subordinate who was both a brother and a friend; neither placed much importance on formalities. Moreover, there were no other people around, so they both pretended not to see him, let alone greet Lo An Lord or pay him any respects.
Lo An Lord, however, did not mind their indifference or rudeness. He walked up to them and asked, "Elder, what are you discussing? You seem to be having such a good time." He paused slightly before jokingly adding, "Is it that Gongsun wants to bribe you with something nice so you'll teach him some impressive martial arts?"
Before the Snow Spirit Elder could respond, Strategist Gongsun Ming quickly retorted loudly, "Your Highness, that's absolutely not the case! Please don't think such things."
The Snow Spirit Elder pointed at Luo Yi, who was earnestly practicing in the courtyard, and calmly said, "We were just saying that this Little Doll is a good seedling."
"Oh," Lo An Lord replied lightly but did not say anything further. Instead, he turned his gaze toward Little Beggar Luo Yi.
Due to their earlier loud conversation, Little Beggar Luo Yi had overheard them. Upon hearing their voices, he quickly turned around and saw that it was the Snow Spirit Elder, Lo An Lord, and Strategist Gongsun Ming approaching. He hurriedly walked over to them and greeted each one respectfully.
"Commoner pays respects to Your Highness; may Your Highness live long!" After Lo An Lord nodded slightly, he said casually, "Get up! Why are you practicing so early in the courtyard today?"
Little Beggar Luo Yi quickly replied upon hearing Lo An Lord's question, "In response to Your Highness's inquiry, I came to this courtyard as per my master's instructions." As he spoke, he cast a timid glance toward the Snow Spirit Elder standing nearby.
After hearing Little Beggar Luo Yi's words, Lo An Lord spoke slowly in a teasing tone, "Oh! Master?" He looked at the Snow Spirit Elder with a mix of certainty and curiosity. Lo An Lord was quite sure that the master referred to by Little Beggar Luo Yi was indeed the Snow Spirit Elder standing before him. However, he was puzzled as to why the Snow Spirit Elder would send Little Beggar Luo Yi to practice here when it was clear that Luo Yi's skills were unrefined and some even misplaced. Unable to make sense of it all, he turned his gaze toward the Snow Spirit Elder, hoping for an explanation.
