What was originally supposed to be an intense battle with two participants turned into a one-sided affair when Mu Yan Wusheng chose to withdraw. The crowd's attention shifted back to Gaia, and this confrontation, if it were between Gaia and Bu, would surely be a fierce clash.
"Gaia's challenge is valid; step onto the stage for the duel," Elena announced with a serious expression.
"I've waited a long time for this moment," Gaia sneered, suddenly launching himself into the air with a powerful burst of energy, shooting towards the Arena like a cannonball, creating a thunderous sound as he broke through the air.
"Is this Fellow eager to get trampled?" Bu smirked, feeling quite displeased by Gaia's arrogant demeanor, his gaze turning icy.
With a loud thud that shook the ground, Gaia landed on the Arena, his golden hair shining. The immense energy he unleashed cracked the ground beneath him, and his eyes locked onto Bu with a savage intensity and a hint of murderous intent.
Hill rolled his eyes and lazily announced the competition rules before declaring the duel to begin.
"Brent, you've had your time at the top; you should be satisfied. Now it's my turn. If you have any sense, you'll concede now, and I won't have to waste my effort dealing with you."
Gaia crossed his arms, his twenty-plus acupoints resonating with Thunderous energy, exuding an overwhelming aura that seemed to bolster his words.
Bu shook his head with a light laugh and stretched lazily. "Do you think you have what it takes?"
"Huh?" Gaia was taken aback but quickly realized something. A sinister grin spread across his face. "It seems my useless cousin has shared some information with you. But that's fine; if you know what's good for you..."
"Hey, hey, wait a minute," Bu interrupted impatiently, waving his hand. "If you want that top position, you'll have to fight me first. No more unnecessary chatter. But before we start, I want to make a bet; I wonder if you're brave enough."
Gaia's words were cut off. Initially furious, he became puzzled upon hearing Bu's next statement. "A bet? What are we betting on?"
"I'm just asking if you're up for it. If you're not brave enough, stop talking nonsense and let's get started," Bu replied defiantly.
Gaia's eyes nearly blazed with fury; he felt like he was about to explode. He thought he was already arrogant enough, but this Fellow in front of him was even more so. He merely asked about the bet's content and ended up being insulted instead.
"What’s there to be afraid of? I'm in; what are you betting?" Despite feeling furious and humiliated, Gaia's pride wouldn't allow him to back down. He believed he wouldn't lose no matter what they wagered.
"Let's bet your spear!" Bu declared boldly, causing Hill—who had been watching this farce—to nearly choke on his spit in surprise.
"My Taiyuan Spear?" Gaia exclaimed in shock, his expression wavering.
"What’s wrong? Are you having second thoughts? Afraid to bet?" Bu laughed mockingly, his eyes gleaming with the knowledge that Gaia might back down. This only fueled Gaia's fury further.
"I have nothing I wouldn't dare to bet on, but if you want me to wager the Taiyuan Spear, what can you offer in return? Just your ragged self?" Gaia was no fool; despite knowing that Bu was trying to provoke him, his pride made him believe he wouldn't lose and he certainly wouldn't admit to being afraid to bet. He also didn't believe Bu could present anything of equal value to the Taiyuan Spear.
"My wager is worth far more than your Taiyuan Spear. If we’re talking about value, even the entire Arthur Royal Family combined wouldn’t compare," Bu said confidently, a look of disdain on his face.
"Afraid that the wind might knock out your teeth? Something that can't even compare to the entire Arthur Royal Family is hardly something you can get your hands on," Gaia scoffed, glancing around before continuing, "Having been dragged along for so long, I’m too lazy to keep entangling with you. What interests me most is putting you under my foot rather than what we’re betting on."
"My wager is a secret method for rapidly restoring life energy. I wonder if you're interested," Bu said slowly, noticing Gaia seemed ready to make a move.
"A secret method for rapidly restoring life energy?" Gaia paused, surprise flickering across his face. Then he recalled something and looked Bu up and down, suddenly realizing, "That’s why your injuries healed so quickly! In just one night, not only did your wounds heal, but your life energy nearly fully recovered as well."
"And you?" Bu smirked, throwing out a teasing remark that was wickedly provocative.
"If it really is that method, then I’ll bet with you. Since you proposed this first, you won’t back out after losing, right?" After a moment of initial surprise, greed shone in Gaia's eyes as he licked his lips and spoke slowly, his gaze fixed intently on Bu.
"If you back out, then my strength will stagnate for life; I would be scorned by Ten Thousand." With a sneer, Step's expression grew serious as he spoke solemnly.
"Alright! I’ll trust you. How shall we wager?" Gaia laughed heartily, his eyes gleaming with greed like a blazing Sea of Fire, as if he were certain of victory no matter what they bet on.
"We'll wager on this battle; the outcome will determine everything. If you win, I'll tell you how to cultivate that secret method. If you lose, the Taiyuan Spear will belong to me," Bu declared clearly, his eyes shining brightly.
Although their conversation in the arena was loud, the spectators outside couldn't hear the specifics; they only knew that the two seemed to be betting. Some who had been eagerly awaiting this battle couldn't help but complain, and a few even cursed for them to hurry up and start their duel.
Gaia had already anticipated Bu's betting method. With a cold smile, he snapped his wrist adorned with a black bracelet. A faint light flashed from the bracelet and in an instant, Gaia held a nine-foot-long spear in his hand.
Bu's gaze sharpened as it fell upon the unremarkable black bracelet on Gaia's wrist. He felt a jolt of realization: "A Storage Bracelet! I had been wondering where Gaia hid the Taiyuan Spear; I didn't expect this fellow to possess a Storage Bracelet."
"I once heard Sean Sterling mention that treasures like space storage items are incredibly precious. Even he, as a Silver Star Student of the Holy Light Academy, only obtained such a bracelet during an extremely difficult academy mission. There are even Storage Rings above these that some High-Level Giants covet."
Who would have thought that Gaia was so wealthy as to possess such treasures? Bu Yi Shi felt parched and even began to feel a twinge of jealousy towards Gaia. He looked at him as if gazing at a moving mountain of gold—intensely hot with desire.
The sudden appearance of a spear in Gaia's hand caught the attention of all spectators outside. Many discerning individuals not only recognized that Gaia possessed a space bracelet but also guessed the origin of the spear he held.
Both items were treasures in their own right. Among the crowd were those who eyed them greedily; however, when they thought about the terrifying power of the Arthur Royal Family, their fervor quickly faded like being doused with cold water.
Since the Arthur Royal Family dared to bestow these two treasures upon Gaia, they surely had their reasons. In this Crook Duchy, with the strength of the Arthur Royal Family capable of standing toe-to-toe with any Duchy Royal Family and numerous Intermediate Level 5 super experts present, no one dared to pluck hair from a tiger’s mouth and risk their lives for momentary greed.
"This is the Taiyuan Spear. Watch closely, for I will defeat you with this spear and win the secret technique that can quickly restore life energy," Gaia declared, holding the spear with an imposing presence. The spear was nine feet long, towering over Gaia himself.
The shaft was pitch black, and the spearhead was blood red, as if it had claimed countless lives, making it appear as though it drank blood like a demon, completely stained.
At the moment Bu's gaze fell upon the spear, Gaia's energy surged forth. The spear in his hand awakened like a long-dormant demon, releasing an indescribable aura that spread outwards, shaking the surroundings.
Bu's eyes suddenly narrowed. In that instant of seeing the spear, it felt as if thousands of spear lights pierced through his vision, causing a sharp pain. A wave of murderous intent rushed towards him, making him feel as if he were amidst a fierce battle with countless soldiers, overwhelming his senses.
At that moment, a fierce glint flashed in Gaia's eyes. He stepped forward, and the Avatar Long Rainbow suddenly approached.
As he drew near, it was as if thousands of soldiers were charging and shouting. The spear in his hand thrust forward with immense killing intent, like thunderous roars. The air around him rippled violently, and at the tip of the spear, countless vengeful spirits wailed mournfully, sweeping towards Bu with this strike.
Bu's expression changed dramatically as a strong sense of crisis enveloped him. Although this threat was much weaker than Habea III's strike from yesterday, it still brought him a terrifying pressure. It felt as if he were facing not just Gaia alone but an entire army launching a simultaneous lethal attack.
This was an overwhelming spear force; the countless souls that had perished under the Taiyuan Spear cried out in anguish, transforming into a fierce storm. Though not as powerful as an energy field, it could be considered a miniature energy field. With this spear in hand, Gaia's combat power surged; under this single thrust, Bu found himself with no way to retreat or evade and could only choose to confront it head-on.
"What a formidable offensive! This strength comes not from Gaia's spear technique but from the Taiyuan Spear itself," Bu thought as he felt engulfed by the spear's momentum, like a solitary boat on the ocean facing imminent destruction.
