"So that lecherous old man is called Lange, huh? Why not call him Appendix instead?" A wicked smile danced across Bu's face, but he quickly straightened up, shaking his head like a rattle drum. He frowned at Sean Sterling and said, "I know that with Lord Lange's status, he wouldn't do anything to harm me. It's as ridiculous as an elephant quarreling with an ant.
However, I can't shake off this uneasy feeling, especially the way that strange old man looked at me with such a lewd smile."
In the end, Bu nodded seriously, as if affirming his own suspicions.
Sean Sterling had a strange expression upon hearing this, while Kalandor burst out laughing, spitting out his drink and hitting the innocent Reynold right in the face. This only made Kalandor cough even more dramatically.
"Ahaha, Brent, I'm telling you, that old man definitely has some quirks. I've heard that in certain Major Forces, there are always people who have unique tastes and prefer young men like you who are handsome and cool. Hey, why are you hitting me? You can't hide this fact by hitting me! You can't make an honest person like me submit to the Force, nor can you stop me from speaking the truth."
Bu was already feeling anxious inside, and upon hearing Kalandor's teasing remarks, he could no longer hold back. With a snap of his fingers, he delivered a sharp slap to him. Surprisingly, Kalandor remained undeterred and pretended to be righteous, putting on an expression of integrity.
This time, even Reynold couldn't just sit back and watch. Already irritated from being splashed with drink, he didn't need Bu's prompting; he rolled up his sleeves and started throwing punches at Kalandor, causing the entire carriage to sway back and forth while Kalandor let out cries of agony.
The cries were loud and carried a tone of dramatic flair, as if they were a release after reaching a peak of pleasure. Passersby on the street looked on in astonishment, stopping to stare in disbelief at such bold behavior in broad daylight.
Sean Sterling nearly fell over in shock. Even with his usual composure, he was taken aback by Kalandor's outrageous display. His face turned green with anger; veins bulged on his forehead as his White Eyes narrowed and widened in agitation, almost ready to explode.
Seeing the situation escalate, Bu hurriedly pulled Reynold away from the fray and kicked Kalandor twice more, signaling for him to get up quickly.
Feeling the sudden drop in temperature inside the carriage, Kalandor scrambled to his feet. He cautiously glanced at Sean Sterling, whose sleazy demeanor paired with his handsome features made Bu Xin feel both amused and exasperated.
He even had the illusion that the current Kalandor was entirely different from the one he had known before; it was as if two souls were living within one body.
The previous Kalandor, driven by revenge and filled with hatred, had masked himself with a smile; now this new Kalandor, living for himself and shedding burdens, was revealing his true nature.
After all this commotion, Bu's previously heavy mood lightened somewhat as he began to relax.
"Well, I am now a preparatory student of the Holy Light Academy, which gives me a special status. Even if that strange old man has impure thoughts, if I refuse to comply no matter what, he wouldn't dare push too hard. I might as well go visit him generously."
Bu smiled mischievously as he spoke these absurd words. Both Sean Sterling and Reynold rolled their eyes while Kalandor joined in with an evil laugh. If Lange heard this conversation, he would likely be so furious that his beard would tremble uncontrollably—his heart might give out from anger combined with high blood pressure!
Upon returning to the castle, before Bu could even get off the carriage, he suddenly felt a surge of energy. After a moment of surprise, his face lit up with joy. He jumped down from the carriage amidst the puzzled gazes of Sean Sterling and the others, exclaiming excitedly, "Lock Ivan!"
At that moment, standing at the iron gate of the castle accompanied by several elite guards were two individuals who also wore joyful expressions. Upon hearing Bu's distant call, they stepped forward together and shouted in unison, "Master!"
Having established a master-servant contract, and connected to the unique Contract Power of the Servant System, he could sense the presence of Locke and Ivan as soon as he returned near the castle. He was unexpectedly delighted.
Locke and Ivan were among the first to follow him. Although Ivan had spent less than half the time with him compared to Locke, their bond was strong due to the Servant System, making their master-servant relationship very solid. Both Ivan and Locke could be considered his trusted confidants, among the few he could rely on.
At this moment in the distant imperial capital, encountering these two Servants after a long separation brought him immense joy. His friends were few, and those he could trust even fewer, making his regard for these two Servants particularly high, even more so than for Kalandor, with whom he currently got along well.
“How did you two find your way here? Where's Amy?”
He took a few steps forward and embraced Locke and Ivan in a bear hug. With his current strength, which was quite formidable, this simple embrace nearly left them gasping for breath. Ivan, being a Skeleton Frame, felt his bones creak under the pressure, leaving him startled.
Locke smiled wryly and quickly wriggled out of the embrace as soon as he could. Rubbing his slightly pained arms, he said, “Master's strength is growing stronger by the day. My body can hardly withstand your enthusiastic hugs. I left Amy at the inn; I'll go fetch her to meet you shortly.”
“That's fine. Last time, thanks to her reminder, I managed to escape a disaster. I can't neglect her this time.”
Bu Wei nodded with a smile, carefully observing Locke and Ivan as if assessing their progress in strength. He also remembered Amy; he kept all those who had helped him close to his heart. When he parted ways with Locke before, he had heard him mention that he would go find Amy and Ivan.
“My most beloved and respected master, your Glory is everywhere! I was born to serve you, to fight for you, to charm all the beauties for you!”
Ivan was enthusiastically spouting flattery when Bu kicked him away with a swift kick that sent him flying several meters.
“You idiot! It's been a while since I last knocked some sense into you. Your bony frame is getting restless again? Are you really trying to insult me with your creepy appearance?”
Bu initially enjoyed Ivan's flattery but lost his temper when it became increasingly absurd.
Locke smiled at this scene, feeling a long-lost warmth. This simple banter and watching Bu get angry made him feel an inexplicable closeness and warmth.
When Ivan got up from the ground and scampered back over, Sean Sterling and others also dismounted from their carriage and walked toward them.
“Why don’t you go fetch Amy? I'll send a few guards with you. Just come directly to the castle when you have her. I've secured my qualification for the Qualification Challenge at Holy Light Academy. In seven days, we will head to Dysia Kingdom together for Holy Light Academy. By then, I will have enough resources at my disposal to help you improve your strength.”
After finishing his words, he called over several guards and gave them brief instructions. Locke and Ivan looked pleased and exchanged glances that further solidified their determination to stick close to Bu, their golden opportunity.
On their way here, they had heard many people in the city discussing the Peak Showdown and learned that their master had successfully entered the top ten.
The news came too suddenly, and while the two felt disbelief, there was an even stronger sense of pride and honor. At this moment, as it was confirmed that they would receive this well-deserved honor, their excitement intensified upon hearing that Bu would enhance their abilities. This was truly something they had longed for.
"Master, rest assured, I was born to obey all your commands. I will definitely fulfill your orders."
Seeing Ivan about to start another lengthy discourse, Locke quickly pulled Ivan away to bid farewell to Bu. He then saluted Sean Sterling and the others who were approaching before hastily leaving with several guards.
"Brent, are these two your Servants arranged by the Aldra Family?" Kalandor asked curiously as he watched Bu see Locke and the others off.
"No, they are both contracted with me; they were among the first to follow me, so they are my trusted aides," Bu replied with a smile. He wasn't interested in any Servants arranged by the Aldra Family.
"Let's head back to the castle; I have some things to tell you two," Sean Sterling said, glancing at Kalandor before addressing Bu and Reynold, then walking ahead on his own.
The three exchanged glances; Kalandor shrugged and smiled lightly, indicating that Bu and Reynold could go ahead without him. He would not follow them anymore.
"It seems that if I do well at Holy Light Academy in the future, I will still need to support Kalandor. Although he appears indifferent to his failure in the Qualification Challenge now, deep down, he must feel quite disheartened."
Looking at Kalandor's sunlit smile, Bu sighed inwardly and silently patted his shoulder before turning to leave with the equally contemplative Reynold.
