"Two million Silver Kall, two million. After deducting twenty percent commission, we will receive one million six hundred thousand, Master." Upon hearing Mona's final announcement of the deal, Locke stood there in shock, staring blankly at Bu, seemingly unable to believe that they had obtained such a large sum of money so easily.
"Calm down, calm down, Locke. Following your wise and powerful master, you will enjoy endless wealth and glory in the future, and having many wives and concubines will not be a problem. Oh, sorry, I forgot Amy is still here." At that moment, Bu was so pleased with himself that he was jolted back to reality by a sharp glare from Amy.
"Let's go. We need to collect our rightful wealth now—those lovely Silver Kall. This auction is not something we can handle just yet. Once we have more wealth in the future, we can come back and splurge like Sister Bertha, who spends money like water without even knowing us."
Bu stood up, raised his glass to gently clink with the cup Reynold handed him, drank it all in one go, and laughed as he walked out of the room.
"Mr. Brent, this is your commission from the auction. According to regulations, our Blue Castle Auction House has deducted twenty percent from the final sale price. This Purple Gold Card is unregistered and contains a total of one million six hundred thousand Silver Kall. You can withdraw it at any major Gold Bank; please keep it safe."
Receiving the Purple Gold Card from a charming waitress, Bu whistled in satisfaction and left with everyone.
He couldn't be bothered to check if there was indeed one million six hundred thousand inside the Purple Gold Card. With the reputation of Blue Castle Auction House, they wouldn't tarnish their name over such a small amount of money. As the waitress mentioned, this money could be withdrawn at any Gold Bank or spent at any store equipped with a gold withdrawal device.
The gold withdrawal device is a special tool developed by the Alchemist Guild for people holding Gold Kaar to use for card transactions. After all, while carrying loose Silver Kall might be manageable, lugging around thousands of Silver Kall would be burdensome; no one would be so foolish as to wander around with such heavy cash. A Gold Kaar can be used anywhere for convenience and efficiency.
With their funds secured, the group hurried back to the academy. Along the way, Locke kept grinning foolishly but became anxious again when he thought about spending fifty thousand on the Outer Gate assessment tomorrow. If it weren't for Bu Qiang's insistence, he wouldn't have been willing to part with it.
Before long, Bu and his companions returned to their residence within the academy. Kalandor and the others had been eagerly waiting for them; upon hearing that they had secured funding, their faces lit up with excitement.
With Bu's one million six hundred thousand plus Reynold's eight hundred thousand, they had a total of two million four hundred thousand Silver Kall. Excluding Amy who still needed time to improve her strength, Kalandor and his three companions would need two million Silver Kall for their Outer Gate assessment tomorrow. If they spent this money, they would return to being broke again.
"Boss, don't worry! I promise not to let this money go to waste. If I fail the assessment tomorrow... I’ll..."
"I'll what? If you fail tomorrow's assessment, just commit seppuku as an apology."
Bu hated seeing pretentious people and directly threw a chestnut at Kalandor, leaving him teary-eyed.
It was getting late, and although everyone was happy, they did not celebrate any further. At Bu's request, they each returned to their rooms to rest early.
It is worth mentioning that Bu had arranged two large beds in his room. Wendy understood what Bu meant and lightly scolded him for being a big pervert. In the end, she shyly rushed into the room, claiming one of the princess beds and burying herself under the covers pretending to sleep.
The next morning, Bu left early with Reynold. They had many things to attend to, not only to help Kalandor gather information about the specifics of the Outer Gate assessment but also to choose a hall to join. Ultimately, according to Bu's plan, he wanted to finalize the establishment of their forces today.
Reynold decided to join the Black Death Hall, which did not surprise Bu. The students of Black Death Hall were known for their top combat abilities at Holy Light Academy. Their skills and techniques focused primarily on killing and warfare, and most students from Black Death Hall could take on multiple opponents at the same level, making Reynold's choice align with his martial arts mindset.
Upon reaching a fork in the road, the two parted ways, and Bu headed towards Primordial Hall.
Primordial Hall was one of the four halls of Holy Light Academy. Unlike Black Death Hall's brutality or Greed Wolf Hall's cunning, it lacked the uniqueness found in Galan Hall, which had many female students. However, students of Primordial Hall were more or less knowledgeable in alchemy and excelled in physical training compared to the other three halls. Students here were known for their resilience; often at Intermediate Level strength, they possessed physiques comparable to those at Intermediate Level 4.
Holy Light Academy was vast and divided into multiple areas according to Four Halls, Three Pavilions, Two Gates, One Palace. Following the signposts helped Bu avoid going in the wrong direction. Finally, he stopped in front of a cluster of buildings made entirely of fiery red stone.
This was the area belonging to Primordial Hall. Looking around, everything was red, resembling a mirage created by a Sea of Fire. Even before entering this area, an inexplicable heat enveloped him like a steam oven. There was no greenery; it felt like a drought-stricken desert. Occasionally, thorny plants grew around some buildings but offered no sense of vitality—only desolation.
Suddenly, figures rushed out from those fiery red buildings. They moved quickly and hurriedly passed by Bu, bringing with them a wave of heat.
After these individuals left, Bu remained at the entrance without stepping into the area belonging to Primordial Hall. He stood just a hundred steps away from it; however, that distance felt like crossing from one world into another—completely different realms that evoked complex and shocking feelings as if contrasting ice and fire or mundane earth and celestial realms.
"Are you a new student who recently joined the academy?" A clear voice suddenly came from behind him. Bu was taken aback and turned around.
Not far behind him walked a tall woman clad in fiery red armor. She had an imposing figure; if one overlooked her quite attractive face, she could easily be mistaken for a rugged man. At least her prominently bulging chest under thick armor resembled two well-defined muscles. Especially with a massive double-sided axe resting on her shoulder, she gave off an overwhelming presence at first glance.
Bu was stunned at that moment. Initially influenced by that clear voice, he had expected the person behind him to be a delicate beauty. But now, comparing the two left him feeling as if he had been twisted into a rope and knotted up—his inner turmoil and disappointment were indescribable.
"Senior Sister?" Looking at the unfamiliar woman who was a head taller than him, Bu felt an immense pressure. Although he was nearly six feet tall himself, he felt completely like a sheep in front of this imposing figure.
"Hehehe, you haven't answered my question yet, junior. But seeing how nervous you are, you must be new to the academy like me, right?" The tall woman spoke boldly as she set down the double-sided giant axe resting on her shoulder. When it hit the ground, it made a thunderous sound, creating a deep pit in the ground.
Bu's mouth twitched; just by estimating, that giant axe weighed no less than five hundred pounds, yet this Senior Sister carried it around as if it were a toy. "Uh, yes, Senior Sister. I just arrived at the academy yesterday and came here specifically to join Primordial Hall. Are you also a member of Primordial Hall?"
"That's right." The tall woman suddenly reached out and slapped Bu's shoulder. The impact made half of his body go numb, and amidst his despair, he heard her cheerfully say, "Junior, you're quite wise. Joining our Primordial Hall is much better than joining any of the other three halls. For one thing, we are the wealthiest among the four halls. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Candice, and I am a Sixth Generation Copper Void Student of Primordial Hall."
"Candice," Bu Xin silently repeated her name while secretly observing her appearance. Despite her intimidating stature, she had quite a pretty face. Her slightly thick eyebrows gave off a heroic vibe, and her large amber eyes sparkled with laughter. She had a slightly prominent nose and full red lips, with long brown hair tied into a high ponytail cascading down her back.
"My name is Brent. I hope to receive your guidance in Primordial Hall from now on, Senior Sister Candice."
"Of course! Come on, Senior Sister will take you to the Freshman Reception at Primordial Hall right now. You look quite sturdy and clever; joining us in Primordial Hall will surely lead to great success." Candice hoisted the double-sided axe back onto her shoulder and gave Bu's shoulder another hearty slap. The enthusiasm made him feel embarrassed to dodge such a powerful blow; he could only follow beside her with his numbed body.
"Primordial Hall is divided into two divisions: the Alchemical Division and the Body Refinement Division. Every student who joins Primordial Hall must choose one division to enter. I am part of the Body Refinement Division; which division are you planning to choose?"
As Candice stepped into the fiery red building area belonging to Primordial Hall, Bu was momentarily taken aback by her question. He had only thought about joining Primordial Hall but had never heard about its two divisions: Alchemical and Body Refinement. Which one should he choose? And which division did Van Lao belong to?
