The speed of Hong Lian's advance was astonishing, swiftly passing through the Eightfold Gravity Zone. Soon, he broke through the Ninefold Gravity Zone, Tenfold Gravity Zone, Eleven Times Gravity Zone, and Twelve Times Gravity Zone, until he arrived at the Thirteen Times Gravity Zone, where his steps finally halted.
In the Thirteen Times Gravity Zone, there was no mist of any kind. Here stood numerous stone tablets, all in a state of disrepair; some were even reduced to mere halves. These tablets were inscribed with patterned text. Although time had blurred these inscriptions, the haziness imparted a sense of enlightenment to the soul.
Mental Power spread outwards. With Hong Lian's strong Mental Power, he could cover most of the stone tablet forest. Soon, he sensed the life forces of four individuals. Those who could cultivate in the Thirteen Times Gravity Zone must have reached Intermediate Level 5. For such formidable beings, Hong Lian chose not to disturb them recklessly.
However, a peculiar sight made him halt his advance. He noticed that all four individuals were gathered together, intently examining a pattern on one of the stone tablets. Bu Shuang, who was struggling to stand up from the Eightfold Gravity Zone, suddenly had a flash of insight; what Hong Lian sensed, he naturally could perceive as well. After pondering for a moment, Hong Lian quickened his pace towards where the four were congregated.
As he moved forward, to avoid trouble, Hong Lian subtly altered his facial muscles to change his appearance slightly so that if there was any friction with those four later on, it would not implicate his true identity.
The sound of footsteps approached rapidly from afar, creating an abrupt contrast in the Thirteen Times Gravity Zone. The four individuals who were focused on the stone tablet changed their expressions and exchanged glances before standing up to look back.
A figure clad in red rushed towards them at an incredible speed, creating a whirlwind in its wake. The four were taken aback, their expressions showing surprise and caution. In just a moment, the figure arrived before them—a cold man with red hair dressed in a red robe. As he approached, his hair billowed like flames, exuding an aura of pressure.
"Which hall do you belong to? Such strength yet unfamiliar to me," one of the four—a middle-aged man with black hair and a scar at the corner of his eye—spoke up after noticing that the red-haired man remained silent. "I am Zhuge Yu from Black Death Hall, Fifth Generation Silver Profound Student."
Hong Lian's gaze shifted as he observed Zhuge Yu more closely; this person's features bore resemblance to his own kindred spirit, indicating he was likely a descendant of their clan.
"I am Merkdo from Primordial Hall, Sixth Generation Copper Void Student. It's an honor to meet you," another individual—a robust man resembling an iron tower—grumbled in a deep voice. His strength appeared to be around Intermediate Level 4; however, his bulging muscles gleamed with a metallic sheen, indicating terrifying physical strength.
Hong Lian nodded lightly and turned his attention to the other two individuals. They furrowed their brows tightly but showed no intention of introducing themselves. Noticing Hong Lian's gaze upon them, one of them snorted coldly and said, "Your strength is impressive; forgive my lack of insight as I have not seen anyone like you in our academy. However, even if your power is overwhelming, if you wish to comprehend this stone tablet, you must follow the rules."
"Indeed," another chimed in. "As they say: first come, first served. The residual energy on this stone tablet can only be comprehended by four people at a time; once it’s occupied by us four, it will dissipate and take over a month to gather anew. Since we have already claimed our spots, if you wish to join us now, you will have to wait for the next opportunity."
"And if I don't?" Hong Lian raised an eyebrow and interrupted him directly while a strange light flickered in his eyes.
"You!" The last person among them glared at Hong Lian after being cut off mid-sentence. Looking around at his companions with triangular eyes filled with malice, he growled: "If not... then you will be our enemy."
Almost immediately after Triangular Eyes finished speaking, Hong Lian surged forward with terrifying speed towards him and unleashed a powerful punch without any finesse—purely relying on brute force.
"Bold!" Triangular Eyes shouted angrily as he reacted instantly; energy surged around him as he threw a punch back at Hong Lian's descending fist with considerable force.
The sudden clash caught the other three off guard. The middle-aged man who called himself Wu narrowed his eyes and prepared to intervene while Zhuge Yu and Merkdo frowned and chose to observe for now.
Boom!
As their fists collided, a sound like thunder erupted, and the air surged with energy. Hong Lian's body shook violently, the strange light in his eyes growing more intense. Without waiting for his opponent to recover, he unleashed a flurry of punches.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
With each punch that landed, Hong Lian's body vibrated, while the Triangular-Eyed Warrior staggered backward, unable to withstand the immense force behind Hong Lian's strikes. After just a few punches, his bones ached and his arms felt numb.
In this Gravity Training Ground, most were dressed in ordinary martial artist attire without any Amplification Equipment, significantly reducing their combat effectiveness. Although Hong Lian only possessed Intermediate Level energy cultivation, he relied on his formidable physical strength to endure the overwhelming energy impact from his opponent, forcing the Triangular-Eyed man back several steps.
The sudden turn of events in the arena caused Wu to hesitate momentarily, unsure of how to proceed. It was precisely this moment of doubt that changed the tide of battle once again.
Hong Lian suddenly unleashed the Fusion of the Divine, converting 81 points of Mental Power into physical strength. In that instant, he resembled an Avatar-like steel fortress. With a loud crash, the white jade floor shattered as the Crimson Lotus Incarnation surged forward, striking fiercely against the Triangular-Eyed Warrior.
Crack!
The sound of breaking bones rang out clearly as the Triangular-Eyed Warrior was sent flying by the impact, blood gushing from his mouth as he crashed heavily against a stone tablet behind him, sending dust swirling into the air.
"This position is mine now. If anyone is dissatisfied, feel free to challenge me!" With a firm step, Hong Lian leaped beside the Triangular-Eyed Warrior and kicked him far away.
"You!" Wu glared at Hong Lian, unable to contain his anger at such arrogance.
"Do you want to fight?" Hong Lian's gaze turned icy as he locked onto Wu, energy gradually gathering within him and enhancing his presence.
Wu's expression shifted between pale and flushed; he wanted to strike but lacked confidence in defeating this suddenly emerged stranger. From the beginning until now, Hong Lian's movements had been swift and ruthless—he had taken down one of their own in just a few moves without expending much energy. This made it difficult for Wu to gauge his true strength, and that uncertainty left him feeling insecure.
"Since this brother is so determined and Gnar is now severely injured, it seems he won't have the opportunity to comprehend the stone tablet any longer. Therefore, I will concede this position to you; I hope such matters do not occur again." Zhuge Yu, who had been observing quietly, spoke slowly with a smile in his eyes—a smile that acknowledged Hong Lian's strength and indicated his own stance.
"Senior's strength is extraordinary; I have no objections." The towering figure Merkdo nodded in agreement while casting a glance at the sullen-faced Wu.
"Hmph." Wu's eyelids twitched slightly as he suppressed his displeasure and sat cross-legged on the ground in tacit acceptance.
At that moment, the Triangular-Eyed Warrior who had been kicked away struggled to rise. With resentment in his eyes, he stared at Hong Lian for quite some time before ultimately choosing to leave in silence.
"Gnar is also quite temperamental. Now that he can leave in silence, it seems that revenge against you in the future is inevitable. He is a core member of the Hall and has a good relationship with Lord Golan, so you should be cautious moving forward." For some unknown reason, Zhuge Yu reminded Hong Lian with a half-smile. He clearly knew that Hong Lian was unwilling to reveal his identity but did not press further.
In the Eightfold Gravity Zone, Bu stood up slowly, trembling, blood flowing from his legs. This pain stimulated him to want to scream madly, but he endured it fiercely; he enjoyed this suffering, relishing the continuous strengthening that came from the intense pain.
At that moment, in a room outside the Gravity Training Ground, the two middle-aged men who had previously noticed Hong Lian began to converse softly again.
"Who exactly is this sudden Fellow? We have checked all the recent entrants into the gravity zone and found no trace of this person. Moreover, it's strange that the number displayed within the Light Barrier suddenly increased by one. Could this extra person be the one who suddenly appeared? That doesn't make sense; does he have the ability to slip past our watchful eyes?"
"I'm afraid you might be right. Our records do not make mistakes. Now that there is suddenly one more person, and this Fellow has appeared out of nowhere and performed so remarkably, it’s clear that he managed to sneak in without us noticing."
"He is currently in the Thirteen Times Gravity Zone. From what is shown in the Light Barrier, he is gathered with three other students and hasn't moved. One of those students who had been there all along is slowly exiting this area. It’s strange; could they be comprehending that uniquely sentient Dao Stele?"
"It seems likely. The student who just exited was clearly driven away by this unknown Fellow."
"This is interesting. When this student comes out, I want to interrogate him thoroughly about who this Fellow is that managed to slip past our sight and enter the Gravity Training Ground; such skills are not ordinary."
At this moment, Bu was completely unaware that someone was paying attention to him. After Hong Lian forcibly occupied his position, he did not make any excessive moves and sat cross-legged peacefully with the other three, frowning as he examined the stele before him, focusing his mind to comprehend the patterns inscribed on it.
