"Dead woman, stop making a scene!" Red Lotus couldn't understand what was wrong with Eve, who suddenly started laughing and crying in this extremely dangerous place. He felt overwhelmed, almost like he was becoming a Two-Headed Lizard. He began to doubt whether his calm demeanor could withstand being around this seemingly epileptic woman for too long.
Hearing Red Lotus's low growl laced with suppressed anger, Eve pouted and stopped her nonsensical behavior. The two fell silent as they rounded a bend, and ahead, the sound of the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast's deep growl mixed with the gentle flow of water reached them.
Eve's eyes lit up with curiosity as she eagerly leaned forward to sneak a peek. The dazzling sights of the cave immediately widened her eyes in amazement.
Suddenly, a hand appeared and blocked her view. Eve was taken aback, and before she could react, the large hand pressed down on her head and forcibly turned it back.
Furious, Eve looked up at Red Lotus. At that moment, a faint wave of Mental Power resonated in her mind: "From now on, do not make a sound or use your unguarded gaze to attract the attention of the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast."
Red Lotus's expression grew serious. Within his line of sight, the massive body of the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast lay sprawled among the large rocks and piles of bones near the riverbed. Amidst the white bones, a peculiar black-petaled white lotus swayed gently in the breeze. The shimmering water reflected light, clearly revealing the beast's dark green scales glinting with a cold light, resembling a war machine forged from steel—truly intimidating.
Clearly, the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast had sensed intruders in its territory. The air was thick with lingering bloodshed, and the cave was in disarray with scattered bones and broken stalactites. It roared in fury, rampaging through the cave in search of those who dared to invade its lair.
However, after finding nothing and realizing that its prized White Bone Ghost Lotus remained unharmed, the beast's fury gradually subsided. It returned to its resting place near the riverbed to guard the White Bone Ghost Lotus.
"This savage beast may not wield any magical powers, but its scales are as hard as steel, and its strength is formidable. Both heads can spew deadly poison; it’s incredibly difficult to deal with. If I were to engage it in battle, I could only choose to entangle it rather than confront it head-on. Moreover, since it already possesses an energy field, I wouldn't be able to hold out for long. However, if my true self awakens, I might have a chance; it's just unfortunate that my true self is gravely injured."
Lost in thought, Red Lotus shifted his gaze toward a crack in the rock wall deep within the cave that was over ten feet off the ground. Embedded within it was a bloodied figure—his true self.
"Wait here for me." Gently setting Eve down, Red Lotus sent a mental message before turning to enter the cave. However, at that moment, a woman's voice echoed in his mind, causing him to pause mid-step.
"Take me with you!" Her soft voice carried an undeniable determination. Eve tightly clutched Red Lotus's clothing; her eyes held a resolute glimmer that seemed to contain an enigmatic color he couldn't comprehend. This strange hue made his heart skip a beat unexpectedly.
In the spacious and seemingly endless Underground Cavern, Hong Lian and Eve stealthily moved among the white bones and stalactites that filled the cave. Their direction was aimed straight at the location of Bubozun. They needed to traverse nearly a hundred feet across the cavern, but fortunately, they were close to their destination, and the resting Two-Headed Lizard King Beast had evidently not noticed these two uninvited guests.
"That Fellow has been unconscious for a while now; I hope nothing has gone wrong," Eve said, her brow furrowed with concern as she observed the situation in the distance with her Long-Range Detector.
Hong Lian slowly shook his head in response, remaining silent. He was well aware of his true self's injuries, despite the chaotic thoughts swirling in his mind.
