"Ha ha, do these Fellows think they can escape?"
Looking at the scene projected within the cubic Light Barrier, Kalandor chuckled softly, his gaze filled with intensity as he watched Bu, dressed in black with long hair flowing, exuding a domineering aura and an invincible stance that stirred his heart.
From the moment Bu appeared, the outcome of this battle was no longer in doubt. Kalandor, who had been anxious due to Reynold being hunted, gradually relaxed.
Others might still be unclear about Bu's true combat power, but as his closest brother, Kalandor had unwavering faith in his leader's strength. The subsequent series of battles unfolded with lightning speed, causing an uproar among all the spectators in the school square and making some elders from the academy's eyes shine with admiration.
"This Fellow must have encountered some extraordinary experiences to be able to perform such incredible secret techniques at Intermediate Level, sprouting wings and achieving flight that rivals even some High-Level level six giants. Moreover, it seems that in this state, his combat power has significantly increased."
On the Elder Seat, an elderly man with loose skin and visible teeth looked on in astonishment as he observed Bu swiftly catching up to the fleeing Yan Tai Luo and others, his eyes gleaming.
"Hey, what's this? You, Old Machine, are you also interested in this kid?" The usually relaxed Van Lao turned his head upon hearing the elder's exclamation and smirked.
The elder referred to as Old Machine snorted coldly, still fixated on the scene within the Light Barrier, displeased as he said, "Old Poison, you have harmed countless students over the years. I see this one named Brent has astonishing Qualification. Falling into your hands, who knows if it's a blessing or a curse."
"Ha, falling into my hands is uncertain whether it's a blessing or a curse?" Van Lao scoffed, visibly irritated and seemingly indifferent to the elder's remarks. "Others fear me like a tiger; aren't they also wary of you, Old Machine, like a venomous snake? Although I often test people with medicine, I've also given them plenty of benefits. It's just that some are too weak-willed to endure. But you, Old Machine, always like to tinker with bizarre mechanical gadgets and have those strange preferences."
"Old Poison, if you say one more word, don't blame me for being ruthless!" Before Van Lao could finish speaking, the elder known as Old Machine erupted in anger, no longer paying attention to the scene within the Light Barrier. Like an enraged lion, his eyes reddened as he glared at Van Lao, veins bulging on his forehead.
"Oh? Still want to turn against me? Come closer; let me see you try!" In response to Old Machine's furious demeanor, Van Lao seemed completely unfazed. Not only did he not back down, but his provocations became even bolder. His words made Old Machine so furious that he was about to explode on the spot.
Seeing that things were getting out of hand, the leading elder, Elder Whitebeard, intervened with a wry smile to mediate. "My dear friends, let's not argue any further. Any disputes can be discussed after the trial; arguing now only gives others something to laugh about."
"Hmph! I'm not a mad dog that barks at every call. After the trial ends, I want to see how much you've improved lately." With Elder Whitebeard mediating, Old Machine's expression softened slightly as he found a way out but refused to relent verbally.
"Alright then, who’s afraid of whom?" Van Lao tilted his head back defiantly.
The other elders shook their heads and smiled wryly at this sight.
In the academy, there were two treasures: one was Van Lao, and the other was the elder nicknamed Old Machine. One was a master alchemist while the other was a master craftsman. They never backed down from each other and often ended up in verbal disputes whenever they met. Sometimes these disputes escalated into physical confrontations. Everyone had grown accustomed to this spectacle and pretended not to notice while continuing to focus on the cubic Light Barrier.
After this interruption from the two elders, the scene projected within the cubic Light Barrier had changed dramatically. In just over ten breaths of time, the battle between Bu and Yan Tai Luo had reached its conclusion.
Regarding Speed, after unleashing Viscount Bloodwing's abilities, even compared to some High-Level Level 6 giants, the pace is equally formidable. Although Yan Tai Luo and his three companions are determined to escape, they have pushed their speed to the limit but still cannot evade the pursuit.
In just a few moments, Bu has already caught up to the four of them, unleashing several waves of palm winds that form energy-congealed palm prints, enveloping the four.
These energy palm prints, though casually waved by Bu, possess tremendous lethality. The fierce palm winds feel almost tangible; when Pu Yi appears, it creates pressure that causes the ground to tremble and dust to rise.
The four of Yan Tai Luo feel a sense of dread in their hearts, yet the pressure of death fills them with unwillingness. This unwillingness transforms into resentment, driving them to fight back desperately despite being outmatched. Even as they realize Bu has not yet exerted his full strength, they still cling to a sliver of hope and scream in desperation, employing various techniques to seize any chance for survival.
There is a saying that perfectly fits the current situation of Yan Tai Luo and his companions: how can a mantis block a car?
Amidst the dense sounds of explosions and cries of agony, energy beams shoot forth while fierce winds howl. Under Bu's overwhelming speed suppression, only Yan Tai Luo, who possesses a Spirit Shield, can withstand some of the attacks. The remaining three do not even have the opportunity to crush the Guide Stone within mere moments and are all killed one by one by Bu.
Yan Tai Luo's eyes widen in rage; his heart races with fear and anger, causing his eyes to turn red. The delicate Flying Swallow Blade in his hand is already damaged with numerous cracks, and even the energy radiating from his Spirit Shield no longer shines as brightly as before.
He realizes that his opponent intends to annihilate him completely. No matter how he struggles, he cannot escape death. If he does not prepare to crush the Guide Stone, perhaps the countdown to his demise would feel longer. However, once he attempts to crush the Guide Stone, his opponent will surely strike him down before he can do so.
Even with the Spirit Shield protecting him, Yan Tai Luo cannot guarantee that he will successfully crush the Guide Stone and escape before being killed.
The three companions who were with him have now all become lifeless corpses on the ground. The stench of blood drives Yan Tai Luo nearly mad as he watches death approach helplessly. In front of Bu, a fellow new student at his level, he no longer harbors any contempt; all that remains is endless regret.
"You can go now," Bu's cold voice cuts through like a winter wind. His gaze is icy as he speaks and suddenly lunges toward Yan Tai Luo.
In these brief moments, he senses numerous presences converging from all directions towards this location. Some powerful beings are secretly observing from afar. Considering Reynold's severe injuries and potential complications, Bu decides it is best to end this quickly.
Like a startled bird, as soon as Bu moves, Yan Tai Luo feels a tightening in his chest. With his eyes turning crimson, he releases all his internal energy without hesitation. The Spirit Shield flares up and suddenly spins around him. The damaged Flying Swallow Blade whirls like a butterfly in flight, cutting through the air with sharp sounds at unpredictable angles.
However, even with these efforts, there is no guarantee that he can fully stop Bu's advance or crush the Guide Stone; this may only take half a moment. Yet Yan Tai Luo knows very well that his opponent will not grant him that half moment. Whether it’s the Spirit Shield or Flying Swallow Blade, against Bu’s terrifying strength, he only has a fifty percent chance of hindering him for half a moment.
"Life or death!"
With two explosive sounds, the Spirit Shield is struck like it was hit by cannon fire and flies far away. The Flying Swallow Blade shatters into countless pieces that scatter in all directions. Amidst blurred vision, Bu approaches with an indifferent expression while Yan Tai Luo grits his teeth in desperation.
"I just need half a moment!"
The Guide Stone in his palm began to emit a clattering sound, showing signs of cracking. In the next moment, it would shatter completely, taking him out of this trial ground. However, all protective measures held up for less than a thousandth of a second before Bu's presence. Yan Tai Luo could even see a hand engulfed in Dark Radiance, like a demonic flame, pressing down fiercely towards his head.
"Brent is such a terrifying figure."
In the distance, among a thicket of bushes, stood a woman with an aura of confidence and eyes shining like the sun and moon. She exuded a domineering presence akin to that of a Monarch, as if she alone ruled over the world. Yet at this moment, the words that escaped her lips diminished her imposing aura. Her pupils constricted as she gazed at the battlefield from several miles away, observing every detail of the fight.
Not only this woman, but many others also focused their attention on the battlefield. Among these gazes were fear, apprehension, fervor for battle, and treachery—each expression representing the most intuitive impression each Trialist had of Bu.
"Die!"
As his palm descended, Bu's expression was cold. This strike was not his full power, yet it was far beyond what someone like Yan Tai Luo could withstand.
However, at that moment, seemingly foreseeing his impending death, Yan Tai Luo let out a roar with his crimson eyes. He no longer considered the Guide Stone in his hand that he had yet to crush because in that brief moment of less than a thousandth of a second, his limbs could not keep up with the speed of his nerves. He wanted to escape, but under Bu's absolute Speed, he found it impossible.
"I won't let you have it easy even in death!"
With such a roar echoing in his heart, cornered Yan Tai Luo suddenly activated his second precious treasure—one granted to him by Kaibo. This was the most crucial and lethal treasure he would never use unless absolutely necessary.
