Zhao Pingchuan imagined a scene from a historical drama, a hero in black wielding a sharp sword, breaking into a prison and overcoming numerous guards to rescue his beloved. However, that was simply impossible.
"Your sister-in-law is fine now, no need to worry; everything was done through proper channels," Zhang Qiu said calmly, but who could understand the twists and turns behind it?
"Brother Qiu, didn't the county already make a decision? With their tough stance, how could they release Sister-in-law?" The usually steady Zhao Pingchuan seemed determined to get to the bottom of this; he was desperate to know what had happened.
Zhang Qiu smiled slightly. "This is a long story. Liu Xiaofei agreed to settle."
"This..." Zhao Pingchuan was even more surprised. In the past, even when Brother Qiu had stabbed himself, he couldn't obtain a settlement.
