Chapter 166: A Strange Light Emerged 0

The Red-Faced Guard widened his eyes, his pupils bulging as if emitting a strange light. Sweat was pouring down his red face. Oh my, that was the nephew of Police Chief Wang Guodong. He was just a security guard; although he wore a uniform, compared to them, it was like the difference between an elephant and an ant. 0

"Are you scared? Let me tell you, the county has already decided to deal with Jiang Xue. Even her uncle can't do anything about it, but that boy managed to save her. Do you think someone like you can afford to offend me?" The Security Chief looked at the Red-Faced Guard with disdain, venting his anger on him. 0

After finishing, the Security Chief turned and left. Now that he had vented his anger, there was no point in staying; looking at the Red-Faced Guard's flushed face would only make him angrier. Damn it, this mess was all caused by him. Luckily, if Director Zhao hadn't intervened, he would have really offended someone. 0

The Red-Faced Guard watched helplessly as the Security Chief turned to leave, leaving only a silhouette behind. The words of the Security Chief echoed in his mind. With a thud, the Red-Faced Guard collapsed onto the ground, his legs trembling. Seeing this, nearby guards rushed over to help him up, but no matter how they tried to assist him, he couldn't stand. 0

An older guard with graying hair said earnestly, "Get up; what's the use of being afraid now that things have happened?" He sighed and continued, "Be careful in the future; don't always confront students. They are the ones you absolutely cannot offend." 0

After saying this, the older guard left. The Red-Faced Guard remained slumped on the ground, his mind blank—this time it was truly over. 0

Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue returned to the classroom where the teacher was still teaching and nothing seemed amiss. As soon as the bell rang for class dismissal, the teacher left, and students swarmed in around Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue, bombarding them with questions. 0

"Are you okay, Boss?" 0

"Boss, why did the Security Chief come looking for you?" 0

"Brother Qiu, how far have you and Sister-in-law progressed?" 0

Zhang Qiu looked at his brothers with a helpless expression and smiled, "I usually don’t see you all being so nosy; what’s going on today? Did you all plan this?" 0

On Jiang Xue's side, while not as exaggerated as Zhang Qiu's situation, she was also pulled aside by people asking questions. Especially her close friend from the dormitory who grabbed Jiang Xue's hand and almost cried out of excitement: "Jiang Xue, you're back! They caught those who bullied you! I was so worried! You're finally okay!" And she really started to cry. 0

Jiang Xue felt a surge of emotion and hugged her best friend tightly. During countless sleepless nights, it was this slightly plump friend who risked being caught by the dormitory supervisor to come to her bed and provide warmth. "Xiaolan, don't cry. I'm fine, and we'll still be together in the future." Jiang Xue gently stroked Xiaolan's back. 0

"Okay." Xiaolan lifted her head, wiped her tears, and smiled. 0

At six o'clock in the afternoon, after the fourth class ended, it was time for students to go eat. Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue followed the crowd downstairs, where everyone rushed toward the cafeteria with chopsticks and spoons in hand. Zhang Qiu held Jiang Xue's hand and squeezed through the crowd before letting go and walking in the opposite direction down a less crowded path. 0

The office building faced east and west, directly facing the First Year, Sophomore, and Senior teaching buildings. Zhao Guohong's office was on the third floor, where the hallway lights were off, making it somewhat dim. Zhang Qiu knocked on the door but received no response, so she pushed it open; indeed, no one was inside. Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue exchanged glances and walked to Zhao Guohong's desk. A copy of History Required Three lay open in the center, with an A4 sheet beside it listing outlines, a pen resting on top. 0

"Maybe the homeroom teacher went to eat," Zhang Qiu said as she looked at the disorganized textbooks. 0

"Should we wait then?" 0

Zhang Qiu bit her lip and thought for a moment. "Let's not wait; let's find Director Zhao and get a leave slip directly." 0

"Isn't that a bit inappropriate?" 0

"It is inappropriate, but the homeroom teacher isn't here." 0

After considering this, Jiang Xue agreed, "Then let's just go ahead." 0

Just as Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue turned around, Zhao Guohong pushed the door open. Seeing the two of them startled him for a moment before he asked, "What are you two doing here?" 0

Zhang Qiu cheerfully stepped forward. "Teacher, we want to ask you for leave." 0

"Where are you going?" Zhao Guohong walked to his seat and picked up a towel to dry his hands. 0

"We're going out for dinner tonight, my dad and Jiang Xue's family," Zhang Qiu said cautiously, while observing Zhao Guohong's expression. To his surprise, Zhao Guohong did not react much; he pulled out a stack of excuse notes, tore one off, signed his name, and handed it to Zhang Qiu. "Go ahead." 0

Zhang Qiu took the note. "Thank you, teacher." 0

Just as he was about to leave, Zhao Guohong stopped him. "I don't care what your families think, but at school, you both need to do what students are supposed to do. You must not do anything you're not supposed to do, understand?" 0

It was that simple, so Zhang Qiu quickly replied, "I understand, teacher." 0

"Go on," Zhao Guohong said as he picked up a fountain pen resting on the A4 paper and prepared to work. 0

"Teacher, aren't you going to dinner?" Jiang Xue asked thoughtfully, noticing that Zhao Guohong had only gone to the restroom. 0

Zhao Guohong smiled slightly. "I'm not hungry; I'll eat after I finish preparing the syllabus." 0

"Teacher, I will study hard," Jiang Xue said earnestly. 0

Zhang Qiu also promised, "I will too, teacher." 0

"I believe you both will. Hurry along and be careful on the way," Zhao Guohong said as he began writing on the A4 paper. 0

Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue quietly stepped out and closed the door. Zhang Qiu sighed, "Our homeroom teacher has it tough too." 0

"Yes." Jiang Xue turned her head and smiled sweetly, "Then you should try not to upset the homeroom teacher." 0

"Okay, I promise you." Zhang Qiu smiled and patted Jiang Xue's head. 0

After getting the leave request signed by the homeroom teacher, they needed to get the director's signature for it to be effective. Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue arrived at the Director's Office again. Standing at the door, Jiang Xue paused and looked anxiously at the wooden door of the office. "Do you think the director will scold us?" 0

"I’m afraid so," Zhang Qiu said, pretending to be worried. 0

Jiang Xue frowned in distress. "What should we do then?" 0

Zhang Qiu quickly smiled to reassure her. "Don't worry, nothing will happen. Trust me." 0

"Really?" Jiang Xue's eyes sparkled with disbelief. 0

"Really," Zhang Qiu said confidently. 0

After knocking on the Director's Office door, Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue walked in. Director Zhao was focused on his computer. He straightened up when he saw Zhang Qiu, waiting for him to speak. 0
