“Zhang Qiu!” Wang Jinghan nearly screamed as she looked at Zhang Qiu, who was covered in blood, instinctively falling silent.
“Come with me quickly!” Wang Jinghan ran ahead to lead the way. Doctors and nurses were already pushing a stretcher over, and the police placed Zhang Qiu onto it. The doctor looked at the battered Zhang Qiu and shouted, “Quick, to the emergency room!”
Surrounded by doctors and nurses, Zhang Qiu was pushed into the emergency room, and the red light on the door lit up, isolating the old police officer, other officers, and Wang Jinghan outside. Wang Jinghan subtly asked, “Officer, is this person one of your officers? He looks so young.”
“He’s not; can’t you see he’s still wearing a school uniform?”
“Another student fight?”
“It’s more than just a student fight.” The old officer suddenly turned his gaze to Wang Jinghan and asked, “Why are you asking all this?”
“I’m just curious.”
Wang Jinghan maintained a natural expression, and the old officer didn’t press further. His mind was focused on the case; the best outcome would be to catch some of those who had escaped. If that wasn’t possible, then at least they could pry some information from the captured man and woman.
“Dr. Li, what brings you here?”
Dr. Li, who had previously treated Zhang Qiu’s knife wounds, strode over with his white coat billowing behind him, exuding authority. He adjusted his glasses and looked toward the emergency room, asking, “Is it him? The guy I treated for knife wounds on the seventh floor?”
“Yes, it’s him. How did you know, Dr. Li?”
“Did you forget? Our hospital just updated its electronic system not long ago.”
“Oh right.” She had even introduced Zhang Qiu to him before but had forgotten now. “What are you here for, Dr. Li?”
“I came to see him. What injuries did he sustain this time?”
“Knife wounds—many of them.”
Dr. Li’s eyes lit up as he walked to the emergency room door and knocked twice. When someone opened the door, he stepped inside. The old officer merely glanced at the doctor before quickly looking down again. Wang Jinghan silently prayed in her heart, “Zhang Qiu, please don’t let anything happen to you.”
“Comrade Police, you are here!”
The security team leader led two of his brothers over, handing the police car keys to the old officer with a smile, “The police car is already parked in the lot, and I’ve locked the doors. Please rest assured, Comrade Police.”
“Very good.” The old officer straightened up and looked at the security team leader and the two security guards behind him. “You must keep a close watch on the Injured Person who comes out from inside later; he must not escape.”
“Yes!” The security team leader saluted like in a TV drama and then asked with a grin, “Comrade, he’s a bad guy, right?”
The old officer’s expression turned serious. “Don’t ask what you shouldn’t.”
“Yes!”
“You stay here and keep an eye on things; I’ll head back to the station for a bit.” The old officer instructed one of the officers before quickly leaving.
Wang Jinghan, waiting nearby, felt a jolt in her heart. Sure enough, something had happened to Zhang Qiu, but thankfully she hadn’t exposed herself.

Inside the Beilan County Police Station, Ma Zhen sat across from Rui Rui with several officers. They had been negotiating for over ten minutes, but no matter how he questioned her, the girl refused to answer. Finally, Ma Zhen said, “If you don’t respond again, we will have no choice but to detain you.”
Rui Rui coldly stared at Ma Zhen, remaining silent. All she could think about was wanting to see Zhang Qiu as soon as possible; she didn’t even know if he had woken up yet.
“Captain Ma, here are the printed surveillance videos.”
A police officer handed Ma Zhen a stack of A4 sheets printed with images. Ma Zhen took them and looked through a few pages. It was indeed a major case; although the surveillance was distant, it clearly showed that there were at least over a hundred people involved. It captured individuals coming out of Blue Rose Entertainment City with knives and clubs clearly visible in their hands.
“Good, summon Chen Hu immediately.”
“Yes!”
"Wait, let's wait a bit longer." Ma Zhen changed his mind. "You go first."
"Yes." The Police Officer's earlier excitement faded away. Although confused, he chose to obey the order.
Ma Zhen held up the photo in front of Rui Rui and loudly questioned, "Do you see this? This is evidence. The girl holding the stick in the picture is you, right?"
Rui Rui looked at her blurry image in the photo and turned her head away. Ma Zhen, observing Rui Rui's stubbornness, emphasized once more, "If you don't come clean now, we will have no choice but to detain you. You need to understand that even if you say nothing, we can find out everything clearly. The opportunity to make a contribution is right in front of you; think it over."
After finishing, Ma Zhen left with the officer, leaving Rui Rui alone in the interrogation room. Rui Rui leaned back in her chair, her mind filled with thoughts of Zhang Qiu.
In the office, Ma Zhen received a report from his subordinate that all private surveillance cameras near Azure Blue Rose were damaged and that the dispatched Police Officers had not captured any suspects involved in the case. Another thunderclap sounded outside, and Ma Zhen furrowed his brows, slamming his fist hard on the table.

In a specially arranged single patient room at the county hospital's inpatient department, after a series of ordeals, Zhang Qiu fainted again and had not yet woken up. The police kept a constant watch over Zhang Qiu inside the room while the security team leader stood guard at the door with two security personnel. Dr. Li, slightly puzzled, pulled Wang Jinghan aside and asked, "What happened to this guy? Are the police here to arrest him?"
"Dr. Li, maybe so; I'm not really sure." Wang Jinghan truly did not know much. Since Zhang Qiu arrived here, she had only heard bits and pieces from an old police officer. Suddenly thinking of something, Wang Jinghan asked, "Dr. Li, can I go in to take care of him?"
Dr. Li thought for a moment and nodded. "Follow me."
Dr. Li walked toward the patient room; the security personnel naturally did not stop him. Upon entering, the police officer stood up and asked, "Doctor, what's going on?"
Dr. Li looked at Zhang Qiu on the bed and said, "The patient's condition may be unstable; we need to arrange for someone specifically to stay here with him."
"Rest assured about that; I will keep an eye on him twenty-four hours a day, and our department has already sent someone over."
Dr. Li replied, "What I mean is that we need professional medical staff to accompany him."
"But..." The police officer recalled his mentor's instructions to ensure their own people kept a close watch without any mistakes. He hesitated; should a doctor be within restricted areas?
“Comrade Police, here, he is first and foremost a patient, and I am responsible for my patient.”
“Alright.” The police officer sighed in relief, as long as he was here, nothing would go wrong.
“Jinghan, you stay here to take care of the patient.”
Wang Jinghan cast a grateful glance at Dr. Li. After examining Zhang Qiu's wounds and giving a few more instructions, Dr. Li left.
Wang Jinghan looked at Zhang Qiu, who lay on the hospital bed with his eyes tightly closed, feeling an indescribable sorrow swell within her. A month ago, Zhang Qiu had been lying in bed like this, the scars on his abdomen still clearly visible, and now there were new wounds on both sides. She really wanted to sit by Zhang Qiu's bedside, hold his hand, and share her thoughts with him. But she couldn't; she couldn't let the police know that she knew him, or else she would definitely not be able to stay in the ward.
The door was pushed open again, and a poised female officer appeared before Wang Jinghan. The officer stood up and said, “Officer Blue, you’re here.”
“I’m here, and I brought someone with me.”
The officer glanced outside the ward; the security guard on duty had been replaced by one of her fellow Police Officers. Just then, a scream pierced the air.
“Zhang Qiu!”
Lan Ningshan recognized Zhang Qiu lying on the bed and gasped as she rushed to his side, her eyes fixed anxiously on Wang Jinghan. “How is he? Is he alright? Why isn’t he waking up?”
“He’s fine; the doctor has already treated him.” Wang Jinghan replied almost instinctively. What was going on? Did this person know Zhang Qiu? She didn’t seem like just an ordinary friend; could she be related to his uncle? In just a few seconds, countless possibilities flashed through Wang Jinghan's mind. She decided to find an opportunity to probe further.
The ward door remained open, and outside, Liu Hua, hearing his goddess scream, rushed in with a police rubber baton firmly gripped in his hand. If anyone misbehaved, he would charge forward without hesitation. First, he saw Lan Ningshan leaning over the bed, and then he realized that it was indeed Zhang Qiu lying there! Before coming here, he had heard from Captain Ma that they were guarding a serious criminal; how unbelievable it was that Director He’s nephew had become a serious criminal!
“Liu Hua, you go outside and keep watch.” Lan Ningshan shot him a look, and Liu Hua, filled with excitement, hurriedly turned to leave.
Seeing Lan Ningshan’s expression, the police officer directly asked, “Sister Lan, do you know this person?”
Lan Ningshan looked at the officer with calm eyes and nodded. “Yes, I know her; she is very good friends with my girlfriend.”
The police officer said, "Her girlfriend is currently locked up in our station..."
"What!" Lan Ningshan exclaimed in shock. "You mean Jiang Xue has been arrested?"
"Jiang Xue?" The officer was unaware of the name of the girl they had detained. "Maybe."
Lan Ningshan fell into deep thought as she looked at the unconscious Zhang Qiu, observing the scars on his muscular arms, repeatedly questioning in her mind, "Zhang Qiu, what on earth are you doing!"
...
On the seventh floor of the county hospital, Dr. Li locked the door tightly. After pacing back and forth several times, he picked up the phone and said as soon as it connected, "Hello, old classmate, about that matter from last time, there might be an opportunity now."
"Yes, yes, yes, it's him. He's back in our hospital again, but this time he's gotten himself into trouble."
"Alright, it's settled then."
After hanging up the phone, Dr. Li quickened his pace, his right hand trembling with excitement as he held the phone.
Meanwhile, at a certain ministry's Research Center in the capital, a man with graying hair yet full of vitality sat in a chair, dressed in a crisp light-colored suit, gazing deeply out the window.
