I always thought that Zhang Qiu had taken Lin Zhe from Wang Jinghan. Hearing that Zhang Qiu was hospitalized, I dressed up to go see the excitement, but before I even reached the door, I saw two intimidating big guys guarding the entrance, which scared Lin Zhe back into her office.
Zhang Qiu took the shopping bag from Jiang Xue and called everyone over, smiling, "I've brought some late-night snacks to treat everyone. I've bought a lot, so don't hold back."
Zhang Qiu then handed a chicken wing to Jiang Xue and said with a smile, "You can eat with peace of mind now, right?"

"No," Jiang Xue shook her head vigorously. "I want to stay here with you."
"I'm fine, really. You should go home and rest well. Look at you, all dirty like a stray cat. Go home, take a hot shower, and have a comfortable sleep. You can come back tomorrow and bring me some good food."
Jiang Xue still looked very reluctant. Wang Jinghan advised, "Zhang Qiu is right; you should go home and rest. I will take good care of things here."
"Alright then," Jiang Xue reluctantly nodded and looked at Wang Jinghan, saying, "Thank you for your help."
After Jiang Xue finished eating, Zhang Qiu arranged for a big guy to escort her home, repeatedly instructing him, "Make sure to take her all the way to her doorstep."

Not long after, the door to the hospital room opened from the outside. Zhang Qiu initially thought it was the big guy returning with Jiang Xue. Before she could get up to check, she heard the big guys at the door respectfully call out, "Brother Leopard."
Zhang Qiu sat up and smiled as Brother Leopard walked towards her. "Brother Leopard, you're here."
"Lie down comfortably," Brother Leopard gestured for Zhang Qiu not to move as he sat in the spot where Abiao had been earlier. "Good job; I admire your courage for taking on Azure Blue Rose with just over thirty people."
"Brother Leopard is too kind," Zhang Qiu replied. She wasn't being modest; she felt ashamed. While it might seem fearless to act without understanding the risks, it could also be seen as somewhat immature. Zhang Qiu remembered how she had once thought herself immature shortly after meeting Wang Jinghan in the hospital. She wondered what Wang Jinghan would think of her now.
"Abiao has been here, right? How's your injury? What did the doctor say? How long until you recover?"
Brother Leopard fired off a series of questions, and Zhang Qiu answered each one.
"Yes, Biao Ge was here not long ago; he had to return to oversee things in the club. My injury isn't serious; it's already bandaged up; I just need time to heal. As for how long it will take to recover, the doctor didn't tell me specifically, but I feel it won't be too long. It's just that," Zhang Qiu smiled wryly at this point, "even if I'm healed, I probably won't be able to contribute to the club for a while."
"I know about your situation with Rui Rui; you both are doing great," Brother Leopard said as he patted Zhang Qiu's shoulder in comfort. "You don't need to worry about things in the club; I'm aware of the reforms you've implemented at White Day Fire. If this trend continues, you'll be able to pay off that million soon enough. I've decided that by the end of the month, I'll give you and Rui Rui your share of the profits."
"Thank you, Brother Leopard."
"Alright, take care of your injuries." Brother Leopard stood up to leave, but turned back at the door and said, "Zhang Qiu, perhaps soon there will be a heavier burden placed on you."
After Brother Leopard left, Zhang Qiu pondered the meaning of his words: what did he mean by 'perhaps soon there will be a heavier burden placed on you'?
"Zhang Qiu, I didn't realize you still had connections with these people. Moreover, it seems their status is quite significant?" Liu Hua asked curiously. After everything that had happened, he considered himself a friend of Zhang Qiu.
"Yes, this person is our county's Stone Dagger Gang's Second Brother. Have you heard of the Stone Dagger Gang?"
"I have, but," Liu Hua glanced at the large man by the door and whispered, "it seems Lin Tao has a bigger reputation in the police station. I've heard superiors mention Lin Tao and Chen Hu more than once at the precinct."
Zhang Qiu fell into deep thought upon hearing Liu Hua's words. It wasn't that he regretted the fact that Beilan County's largest gang was not as well-known as Lin Tao; rather, through Liu Hua's words, Zhang Qiu realized a serious issue. The police were closely monitoring Lin Tao, which was good news in general, but not for him at this moment.
If the police were keeping an eye on Lin Tao, then the Azure Blue Rose case would certainly be under strict investigation. This meant that he, Rui Rui, and even Yang Yu, who had successfully escaped, were all facing hidden dangers. Sure enough, as Zhang Qiu was contemplating this, the old police officer and his colleagues arrived.
In the hallway, the old officer spotted the large man at the door and frowned as he approached but was stopped. The old officer displayed his credentials and his gaze landed on the tattoo visible on the large man's arm. He sternly said, "What are you doing? Police are conducting an investigation; unrelated personnel should step aside."
The two large men exchanged glances and made way. What infuriated the old officer was that there was also a large man standing inside the hospital room. This was simply absurd! The old officer was so angry he almost shouted; was this a hospital room guarded by police or by these thugs?
Once inside the hospital room, the two large men followed in after the old officer and his colleagues. The old officer shot a fierce glare at Liu Hua before heading straight for Zhang Qiu's bedside. He glanced at the shopping bag and leftover bones beside Zhang Qiu's bed; a rich aroma filled the air in the room. The old officer's sharp gaze swept over Liu Hua's face and noticed a sheen of grease at the corner of his mouth, which only fueled his anger further.
However, the old officer said nothing about it; he just looked at Zhang Qiu and said, "You're awake now, right? How about we have a talk?"
"Sure," Zhang Qiu replied nonchalantly without getting up or looking at the old officer; instead, he focused on counting the patterns on the floral ceiling.
"Zhang Qiu, I hope you can adjust your attitude. Going against us at the Public Security Bureau will not end well for you." The old officer's demeanor was serious and his tone stern. "Now, clarify everything about this matter; it will be better for you. We already have relevant evidence in our possession that hasn't been handed over to the criminal police yet. If you're unclear about anything, I can tell you that civil law and criminal law judgments are vastly different!"
The old officer was unaware of Zhang Qiu's relationship with He Jun; Ma Zhen had not mentioned anything about their case to him—not because he wanted to severely punish Zhang Qiu but because he didn't want to expose his superior's privacy. After all, such incidents would also reflect poorly on He Jun. The old officer confidently looked at Zhang Qiu; he believed that just a few rounds of intimidation would break down his psychological defenses and compel him to confess. After all, he was just a kid.
Zhang Qiu shifted his gaze from the ceiling to the old officer's weathered face. He clearly noticed that the old officer hadn't shaved off his stubble yet.
"Don't you guys ever stop working at night?"
The old officer didn't expect such a response from Zhang Qiu and reminded him again: "Zhang Qiu, I'm asking you questions now. Don't think that just because you're in a hospital recovering we will go easy on you; understand this: if we let you come here, we can also take you away. If you don't cooperate honestly, we'll have no choice but to take you back for further questioning."
Suddenly three large men crowded closer together to block any escape route, their muscular arms crossed like an impenetrable wall. The police officer shouted first: "What are you doing?!"
"The patient needs rest; none of you can take him away!" one of the large men boldly declared despite facing the police officers' gazes. He had been to prison once when he was twenty years old and knew how to handle interactions with law enforcement.
"I still want to ask what you are doing here. This is the police's Intensive Care Unit. Get out!" The old officer turned around, furious, his right hand reaching for his waist. Liu Hua quickly exchanged glances with Zhang Qiu, who deliberately delayed for a moment before saying, "You three brothers should go outside first; I'm fine here."
"Alright, if you need anything, just call us. We'll be right at the door." The big guy said, casting a challenging look at the old officer as he slowly left the ward.
"Liu Hua, is this how you complete your tasks?" The old officer glared at Liu Hua angrily, while another officer chimed in, "Yeah, how could you let these people in?"
"What do you want? The doctor is here; the patient needs to rest!"
Wang Jinghan watched them argue loudly and felt a wave of dissatisfaction, but no one paid her any attention.
Liu Hua remained silent under the old officer's scolding; he admitted it was his fault. However, when he heard the officer reprimanding him, he suddenly looked up and glared back. He had been working at the police station for a few years now; while he wasn't overly meticulous, he felt he deserved some respect for wearing the uniform. What qualifications did a newly interned officer have to lecture him? Just because you have formal credentials doesn't mean you can disrespect me. Even if you're going to scold me, can't you just call me 'senior'?
Seeing that external matters were not resolved and internal conflicts were about to arise, the old officer quickly said, "Alright, Liu Hua, we'll deal with your issue later. Remember not to let unrelated people in again." He then turned to his apprentice and said, "Let's get down to business."
"Yes." The officer took a folder from his briefcase and handed it to the old officer. The old officer untied the white string carefully and pulled out a stack of printed photos. He selected one and held it up in front of Zhang Qiu with a smile on his face, pointing at a figure in the picture and asking, "Is this you?"
Zhang Qiu looked at the photo held up before him; it was taken from an angle showing the entrance of Blue Rose Entertainment Hall. In the picture, Zhang Qiu stood out in the crowd holding an iron pipe—this was during the moment he went to rescue Rui Rui.
