"Wow, it's so lively." Ouyang Zixin heard the sound of drums and gongs from outside the carriage and couldn't help but lift the curtain to peek out.
Today was the day Ouyang Zixin was going to the palace to express her gratitude, and coincidentally, there was a wedding happening, so the carriage had to pull over to let them pass first.
"Miss, I heard that today is a joyous day for the young lady of Situ Manor," Liu Ying said with a light laugh, as she had some sources of information in the capital.
The young lady of Situ Manor? Ouyang Zixin pulled her head back inside and tilted her neck to ask, "Which young lady?"
"Which young lady could it be? It's the one who drugged you," Liu Lvy said disdainfully, pouting. "I can't believe there are still such vicious women around; it's truly outrageous."
Liu Ying nodded in agreement. Upon reflection, that young master from Xu Manor didn't seem to have much of a reputation either. Although Xu Manor was also a prestigious family, they had plenty of sons, and this Xu San Gongzi was an unknown figure who ended up marrying into Situ Manor.
Ouyang Zixin had been called up early in the morning and was still a bit dazed. "Situ Rongyan? She's getting married?"
She had just returned from Lingchi Peak not long ago and was surprised that she was marrying someone else. Wasn't she always fond of Nangong Tuo?
Suddenly, the carriage jolted, causing the three of them to sway. Liu Lvy quickly steadied herself and asked outside, "What happened?"
The young man driving the carriage was startled and hurriedly replied, "Miss, I don't know what happened with that wedding procession; the horses got spooked all of a sudden. Please be careful."
How could the horses get spooked for no reason?
Without needing Ouyang Zixin's command, Liu Ying lifted the curtain and went outside. When she returned, her expression wasn't good as she leaned close to Ouyang Zixin's ear and said, "That Situ Rongyan refuses to get married and is causing a scene."
Such a thing could happen?
Ouyang Zixin frowned, thinking about how she seemed to be caught up in everything today. They were supposed to be heading to the palace to express their gratitude; now what were they going to do? It looked like they wouldn't be able to move for a while.
"Forget it. Let's walk," she said. Although it was a bit far, all three of them had some cultivation, so it wouldn't be too difficult. She instructed Liu Ying and Liu Lvy to help her down and told the young man to wait until the carriage could move before heading outside the palace to wait for them.

The onlookers quickly stepped back, fearing they might get involved in some trouble.
"Oh no." Liu Ying was caught off guard and stumbled when someone pushed her. Ouyang Zixin quickly reached out to steady her.
It was this sound that caught Sito Rongyan's attention, and she turned to look in their direction.
"It's you, you wretched girl!" Originally, Sito Rongyan only intended to escape from her wedding, but she never expected to run into Ouyang Zixin.
For the past few days, she had been confined by her father in their residence. After much thought, she realized that only after the wedding procession set off would she have a chance to escape. That was why she had been holding back until this moment.
The people escorting her were on edge; this young lady was truly causing them trouble. If this news reached their master, they feared for their lives. Several matrons rushed forward to stop Sito Rongyan from jumping out of the wedding car, resulting in a chaotic struggle among them.
"Miss, please don't be foolish!" one matron shouted while signaling others to help, insisting that they must not let the young lady escape.
Meanwhile, those from Xu Manor waited anxiously for the procession but saw no sign of it. They sent someone to check on things; if they delayed the auspicious time, the consequences would be dire. Just as they spotted the procession, they witnessed Sito Rongyan's attempt to jump from the car.
The Chief Steward of Xu Manor frowned as he dismounted his horse and instructed a servant to find out what was happening. The bride hadn't even entered yet; how could she be causing a scene on the street?
"Chief Steward, it seems that the bride wants to elope," said a servant who didn't need to investigate further since he could hear the matrons' voices from afar.
Upon hearing this, the Chief Steward was furious. How dare she attempt to elope in public? Wasn't that slapping Xu Manor in the face? He pushed through the crowd and stepped forward, shouting, "What is Situ Manor doing?"
This marriage alliance was reluctantly agreed upon only because of Situ Rong Bao's influence. Although Xu Manor's third son was a legitimate heir, he belonged to a collateral branch of the family. Even so, Situ Rong Bao insisted on this union. Therefore, such an embarrassing incident could not be tolerated by the Chief Steward of Xu Residence.
"Please conduct yourself properly and return to your carriage immediately so we can head to Xu Manor without delay."
Though he was just a servant, the Chief Steward had earned Mr. Xu's trust over many years and held some prestige in the capital. His words clearly expressed Xu Manor's dissatisfaction.
The guards and matrons who were sending the bride recognized this person and thought to themselves that things had really escalated.
"Miss, you should hurry back; what will happen if you miss the auspicious time?" The matron was almost in tears, her grip tightening. At this point, she couldn't care less about whether she might hurt Sito Rongyan; if this marriage fell through, it could cost her life.
"Let go of me! How dare you touch me? Let go! Ouyang Zixin, stop right there!" At this moment, Sito Rongyan had completely forgotten about any thoughts of escaping marriage; all she could think about was tearing apart Ouyang Zixin, the one she blamed for her hasty wedding.
Ouyang Zixin initially wanted to leave, but Sito Rongyan seemed to have lost her mind and wouldn't let go, calling her all sorts of names.
"Miss, ignore her; let's go." Liu Lvy shot a glare at the frenzied Sito Rongyan and reached out to pull Ouyang Zixin away. Such disgraceful matters should never involve the young lady.
"Ouyang Zixin?" The Chief Steward of the Xu Residence also looked over and noticed three young women standing at the edge of the crowd. Why was the young lady from Situ Manor calling for her?
"You shameless woman! I was supposed to be a royal consort! If it weren't for you, how could my father have casually married me off to those random people? Stop right there; I'm going to kill you!" Sito Rongyan had completely lost her sanity and didn't even notice that the people from Xu Manor had arrived, rambling on nonsensically.
Hmph, those random people.
A flash of anger crossed the Chief Steward's eyes; even if they were from a collateral branch, they were not someone she could insult so casually.
"Hmph, let's go." This marriage could be canceled; he needed to hurry back to report to the master. (To be continued.)
