“Sovereign, Elder of the Bai Clan requests an audience.”
Li Feng stepped out from the side door, bowing slightly, and then quietly glanced at Ouyang Hao standing in the Main Hall. He found it hard to understand whether the elders of the Bai Clan were doing this on purpose or if they were unaware that Ouyang Hao was currently in the palace. They insisted on seeking an audience with the Sovereign at this moment, leaving him with no way to refuse.
Nan Gong Yao sat at the head of the hall, raising an eyebrow upon hearing this, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. He did not respond to Li Feng, but instead looked at Ouyang Hao, his eyes filled with inquiry, as if he wanted him to decide whether to meet those Elder of the Bai Clan.
Having seen Nan Gong Yao behave this way many times before, Ouyang Hao simply lowered his head, pretending he heard nothing and saw nothing. What a joke; just a moment ago, he had asked for a long time, and Nan Gong Yao refused to reveal what those Elder of the Bai Clan had said during their previous visit. “Oh?” After they entered, Nan Gong Yao adjusted his posture slightly and smiled as he replied, “The Grand Elder is joking. Since it is an unreasonable request… then perhaps it’s better not to mention it.”

But now that he understood the importance of the Legitimate Daughter of the Bai Clan, he couldn't believe that these people from the Bai Clan would easily hand someone over.
"Be careful; there might be a trick." Ouyang Hao had always been cautious regarding people from the Bai Clan. Therefore, he decided not to agree immediately and thought it best to wait until they provided more information before considering whether to accept.

Forget it, he thought. Considering that Nan Gong Yao took on the hot potato of Baike for his sake, Ouyang Hao decided to let it go for now.
Soon after, several guards from the Bai Clan carried the still unconscious Baike inside, while the Bai Clan's Five Elders quickly took their leave.
"How can they be so at ease?" Ouyang Hao truly couldn't understand. Baike was supposed to be extremely important to them; how could they casually hand him over to Nan Gong Yao? They were being too reckless!
Nan Gong Yao, however, didn't care much. She had no particular thoughts about Baike; what she was more concerned about was how Ouyang Hao would treat the daughter of his old enemy. Curiously, she asked, "What do you plan to do with her?"
Ouyang Hao was taken aback. The person was entrusted to Nan Gong Yao for protection; why was she asking him?
"Do you want to?" Nan Gong Yao made a gesture as if cutting her throat. Although she smiled at Ouyang Hao, there was a chilling intent in her eyes.
