Since arriving in this post-apocalyptic world, he felt unsatisfied if he didn’t kill a few Scaled Corpses or lone Beast Soldiers; it felt like he was missing out on something.
Only through battle could he truly grow stronger; Chen Zao understood this principle well and thus craved more combat.
Especially now that the Time-Space Dragon Ring was about to be fully charged with energy and ready to transport him back to the Golden Age at any moment, he felt even more fearless.
He couldn't wait to encounter a large group of Mutated Scale Corpses for an all-out battle!
Unfortunately, with the retreat of the last Deep Sea Army, the solitary Beast Soldiers and Mutated Scale Corpses around the base in the Rainforest have become increasingly rare.
After walking for over an hour in the Rainforest that night, nearing the Air Raid Shelter, Chen Zao surprisingly did not encounter a single Scaled Corpse or Beast Soldier. He couldn't even find any monsters to practice his skills on.
Along the way, he had only managed to kill a single Mutated Python, which was quite unsatisfying.
"Ding."
A crisp sound echoed in his mind.
The Time-Space Dragon Ring had officially accumulated enough energy.
Chen Zao could now travel back to the Golden Age.
He climbed up a crooked tree and looked toward the Air Raid Shelter about a hundred meters away.
At this moment, the sky was just beginning to darken.
A vast expanse of Crimson Sunset burned overhead, as if he could reach out and pluck it from the sky. It cast a reddish-golden hue over the Rainforest, creating a breathtakingly surreal scene.
Chen Zao found himself feeling somewhat nostalgic for this harsh world.
After some thought, he decided not to immediately return to the Golden Age, but instead to check on the Air Raid Shelter and investigate what had caused that Charred Corpse and the burnt smell he encountered earlier.
If there was danger, he would retreat immediately and avoid crossing through that Air Raid Shelter again. If there was no danger, he would consider using that familiar Air Raid Shelter for his next journey.
With his mind made up, Chen Zao retraced his steps back to the Air Raid Shelter.
On the way, he specifically went to find the Charred Corpse whose head he had smashed.
What he saw was a pile of blackened bones and tattered clothing.

From a distance, he gazed at the dark entrance of the Air Raid Shelter engulfed in a thicket, and an ominous premonition arose within him.
He felt that there were terrifying monsters hidden inside that cave.
After some hesitation, he mustered his courage and entered the cave.

The temperature inside the cave was hot, even hotter than outside.
Walking alone in such a dark cavern covered with sinister moss made his heart feel cold.

A chill ran down Chen Zao's spine, and he held his breath, directing the faint light of the flashlight toward the source of the noise.
The flashlight had limited brightness, only illuminating about ten meters ahead; beyond that, it was too dark to see.
Chen Zao could only hear the sound but see nothing, which made him extremely anxious!
He tried to reassure himself: "Don't be afraid; if anything happens, just open the door and run! What's there to be scared of?"

Chen Zao thought his fierce tiger-like eyes were frightening, but compared to the terrifying Golden Beast Eyes deep within the black hole, his gaze was like that of a cheerful and harmless sunbeam!
What lay before him were truly spine-chilling eyes and a gaze that sent shivers down one's spine!

Those terrifying vertical pupils, initially cold and devoid of emotion, suddenly lit up with excitement upon spotting a prey in front of them!

Like a venomous snake flicking its tongue, two beams of white light shot out from its golden pupils!
This startled Chen Zao. How could it also be electrifying?
A great danger was approaching rapidly. Without hesitation, Chen Zao used his mind to force open the time-space gate!
The invisible time-space gate unfolded like a shield in front of Chen Zao, silently swallowing the two bolts of lightning that had already reached him.
In the blink of an eye, through the transparent membrane of the time gate, Chen Zao saw the electrified Deep Sea Beasts, emitting crackling sounds as their bodies shimmered with flowing golden light!
