Uncle Bingzi stared in disbelief at Xia Muxin's words. He was the most famous chef in Zhushan County, hired at high prices by many restaurants, earning more silver each month than here. Before he could respond, a voice as warm as jade came from around the corner of the kitchen. A tall figure strode in—a young man who appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen years old. His long hair was tied up with a white jade crown, and his sharp features were strikingly handsome, embodying the typical sunny young man.
Xia Muxin had never seen such a beautiful man in ancient times; she was momentarily stunned until her father timidly tugged at her sleeve, prompting her to awkwardly clear her throat. "Deal, but I need that muntjac skin intact."
Seeing her momentary distraction, a glimmer of approval flashed in the young man's eyes. However, he held no expectations for her; he merely wanted to poke at the esteemed guest's sharpness.

After saying that, she walked in with a light step but suddenly remembered something and added, "I also need some materials; please take me to your pharmacy."
A hint of cautious doubt flashed in the young man's eyes, but after a moment, he nodded.
"This... this... Master, that's just fish offal; how can it be considered a dish?" Uncle Bingzi watched helplessly as Xia Muxin carried a basin full of unwanted caviar and fish roe into the kitchen. He slapped his thigh in frustration and shook his head anxiously.
The young man paid him no mind and led Xia Muxin to Tang Family Medical Hall. Xia Muxin pointed out some materials for the assistant to gather and requested several pieces of gauze before happily returning to the kitchen.
At this time of year, the side dishes consisted of eggplant and green beans. She also had someone fetch some purslane so that would suffice for her small dishes.
She did not list a menu but instead sold a twist, asking someone to prepare an old duck weighing about three pounds, a pound of fresh beef, two large blocks of fresh tofu, several pounds of pig's feet, and a large goose.
She began by cleaning the Caviar and Fish Roe, instructing the assistant to thoroughly wash the Purslane. Once they finished all these tasks, she left Plum alone to tend the fire while sending the others away.

She also took some medicinal herbs and Dried Chili to make a small bowl of red oil, placing it on the stove for later.
On another side, she retrieved the Angelica that had been soaking and wrapped it in clean gauze in five small bundles. After washing the duck, she placed everything into a clay pot to stew.
Having completed all this, she selected two Eggplants and cut them into strips to soak in water while snapping Green Beans into long segments and washing them before setting them aside.
