"Ah, my Songzi is quite impressive. Get some rest, and tomorrow I'll make you something delicious." 0

After a good night's sleep, Xia Muxin woke up at dawn. She cooked a pot of porridge and prepared a dish of cold Wild Vegetables. Although there weren't many ingredients at home, whatever she made was considered a delicacy by Summer Forest and the others. 0

Once the family finished breakfast, they divided their tasks. Summer Forest and Xia Muxin along with Xia Xiaosong went back to the mountains to gather firewood, while Xia Tieshu, who had difficulty moving, stayed home to bundle the firewood. Bundling firewood involved tying together small branches and twigs with dried vines into neat bundles. They would use one bundle for burning, as they couldn't afford to burn the larger Firewood, which was meant for sale unless absolutely necessary. The larger branches could be used to make charcoal, which would keep them warm during winter. 0

It had rained two days ago, leaving Daimiao Mountain lush and green. Just like yesterday, Xia Muxin strapped on her Backpack and took her Crossbow, leading her father and Songzi deeper into the mountains. 0

Since they left early, the dense forest was still shrouded in a light mist that hadn't yet dissipated. From a distance, it appeared ethereal; the hillside was covered in fragrant grass, while vague silhouettes blended together in a dreamy haze. 0

With her Backpack on her back and a cleanly stripped branch in hand, Xia Muxin carefully pushed aside the underbrush while searching for traces of prey. Yesterday, Xia Tieshu had crafted dozens of Bamboo Arrows for her, all of which she had brought along. 0

She had spent quite a bit of money yesterday; combined with what she had left, it barely amounted to two taels of silver. There were still many things to make at home, and her only hope now was to find more Game Meat. Once she earned back her investment, she could start working on other projects. 0

“Hmm...” As Xia Muxin cautiously sifted through the underbrush while listening for any sounds around her, she thought about how it had just rained. There might be many venomous snakes or spiders lurking in the mountains. Plus, wearing straw sandals meant she needed to be extra careful. But what was going on with that injured wild chicken right in front of her? 0

Looking at the wild chicken less than ten steps away, Xia Muxin carefully scanned her surroundings but saw nothing unusual. This only deepened her confusion and hesitation; hunters in these mountains would risk their lives for such game. An injured wild chicken escaping meant it either saw something more valuable or had been attacked by a beast. 0

The wild chicken was partially hidden by some brush. Perhaps sensing danger, it struggled desperately. During its struggle, Xia Muxin clearly noticed an arrow lodged in its side; this arrow didn't look like one from a hunter's quiver. Could there be someone else out here who could craft such a Crossbow or similar tools? 0

Curious thoughts filled her mind as she took a few steps closer. 0

“Feathered Arrow, huh, this is actually made from swan feathers.” Xia Muxin approached the injured wild chicken and was surprised to find that the arrow embedded in it was a Feathered Arrow, and indeed made from swan feathers. 0

In the Tianli Kingdom, swans were considered the highest class of ornamental animals, and such creatures were rarely seen in her small village. It seemed that some powerful individual had mistakenly wandered into Daimiao Mountain for hunting. 0

“Is anyone there? This is quite a plump wild chicken! If you don’t want it, I’ll just take it!” Seeing no one around, Xia Muxin shouted a few times, but no matter how she called out, there was no response. So, she calmly picked up the wild chicken from the ground and placed it into her Backpack. 0

She also carefully removed the Feathered Arrow and inserted it into her quiver. 0
