Ye Feng had some acquaintance with Su Yan-Chu and held Sister Tang in high regard. This time, he was the host, and knowing Rong Li and Liang Yi's personalities well, he made polite small talk to avoid any awkwardness.
"Well then, you all make yourselves at home. I will go check on things," he said.
Rong Li's arrogance was well-known, and it was equally known that Liang Yi rarely showed himself in front of outsiders. If it weren't for Ye Feng, he likely wouldn't have come here just for a meal. Su Yan-Chu noticed the distance in their eyes and paused for a moment before slightly nodding and preparing to leave.
"Master, this is the tea Miss Xia prepared for today's esteemed guests," a young attendant said as he approached with an exquisite teapot. He hesitated when he saw Su Yan-Chu getting up to leave but quickly spoke up nervously.
Ye Feng had reserved this meal a few days ago, mentioning that he wanted to treat the esteemed guests. Su Yan-Chu had discreetly inquired about their preferences and learned that Liang Yi had been feeling unwell due to the dry weather. Thus, he had instructed Uncle Bingzi to have Muxin prepare lighter dishes.
Now, seeing that Xia Muxin had even prepared the tea, Su Yan-Chu was momentarily surprised but quickly waved his hand to the attendant, saying, "Pour some for the gentlemen."
Upon hearing the master's words, the attendant hurriedly entered with the teapot. He first removed the used teacups from in front of them and then took out clean cups. He poured boiling water into each cup to rinse them before filling them with tea.
Of course, this was all taught by Xia Muxin. After all, this wasn't a teahouse where guests simply placed the teapot on the table. In a restaurant like this, guests typically used ordinary tea leaves. However, the attendant's actions made Su Yan-Chu see him in a new light.
The attendant had been working here for quite some time and was well aware of how things were done. It seemed this was yet another idea from Muxin's girl.
As the tea filled the cups, a light floral fragrance mixed with sweetness wafted through the air.
The tea in the cup was not like the usual brew they drank; it was a light yellow, swirling gently within the teacup.
"What kind of tea is this?"
Liang Yi, who had always been infatuated with tea, had willingly submitted himself to Mei Tower largely because of its excellent tea. At this moment, seeing this unique tea, he immediately lifted the cup to his lips and took a delicate sip. His eyes closed in bliss before opening again, and a low, rich voice escaped from his crimson lips.
"Young Master, I don't know either. The head chef instructed it, saying it would be good for your throat."
The young attendant wiped the sweat from his brow. Despite his nervousness, he dared not be negligent and recited exactly what Xia Muxin had taught him.
A slight smile tugged at the corners of Liang Yi's mouth, and a glimmer of amusement sparkled in his eyes. After savoring another sip of tea, he said leisurely, "Your head chef is quite thoughtful."
The young attendant did not dare to say more; he simply bowed respectfully and left with the previous tea set.
Seeing this, Su Yan-Chu smirked slightly. Observing that several people were engrossed in their tea drinking—though there was no significant commotion—they continued to drink cup after cup before silently exiting.
As soon as he stepped out of the private room, he snapped his fingers towards the shadows, and immediately a dark figure darted past...
