Ye Xiaohan wanted to find a hint of panic on Liu Yuan's face, but she was disappointed. Not only did Liu Yuan show no signs of fear, but he also stared at her with an enigmatic smile.
Seeing his reaction, a sense of foreboding washed over Ye Xiaohan, and she turned her head away, no longer looking at him.

Kneeling beside Liu Wen and his wife, Liu Wen was still in shock and dazed by the situation, showing little reaction to Liu Yuan's presence. However, Yang Hua began to tremble as soon as Liu Yuan approached him.

Liu Yuan did not glance at Yang Hua even once; he simply answered Liu Yun's question.
Liu Yun pointed at Yang Hua and said, "Currently present are Liu Wen and Yang Hua, who accuse you of involvement in a disfigurement case, purchasing poison without authorization, and conspiring with others to poison and frame Peach Blossom Studio's Boss Ye Xiaohan. Is this true?"
"My lord," Liu Yuan replied with righteous indignation, showing no signs of unease. He declared loudly, "As a family member of the county magistrate, I have always abided by the law and would never break it. This is nothing but slander; there is absolutely no truth to it."
His calm demeanor secretly relieved Liu Yun, who adopted a more arrogant tone. "Yang Hua, you claim that Liu Yuan handed you the poison. Now that he is here, do you dare confront him face-to-face?"
At Liu Yun's words, Liu Yuan turned to look at Yang Hua, who had already collapsed onto the ground and dared not utter a word.
"This brother here, we are strangers; I do not understand why you would seek to ruin my reputation," Liu Yuan asked Yang Hua in a gentle tone. However, Yang Hua did not dare to lift his head. Liu Yuan could only show an innocent expression to those in the court.

"My lord!" Ye Xiaohan turned to Liu Yun and exclaimed loudly, "I have another piece of evidence: the handwritten testimony of Liu Yuan's attendant Wu Si can prove that Liu Yuan is indeed the mastermind behind this matter!"
Liu Yuan wore a face of sorrow and desolation as he said, "Ye Boss, I truly had feelings for you and wished to form a bond of marriage, but since your heart belongs to another, I cannot force it. Now, because of my sincere intentions towards you, you accuse me of such absurdity?"
He then addressed the court loudly, "My lord, I absolutely did not commit this act. Although I do not know how Ye Boss obtained this testimony, I am willing to confront Attendant Wu Si here to prove my innocence!"
"Very well!" Liu Yun replied. "Since you both have differing statements and Ye Xiaohan possesses Wu Si's written testimony, let us summon Wu Si to clarify what exactly happened."
Liu Yun instructed the Yard Officer to bring Attendant Wu Si back. However, after a while, the Yard Officer returned with the report that Wu Si could not be found.
All eyes in the court turned to Liu Yuan. Wu Si was his attendant and had always been by his side; he should know where he was at all times.
Unexpectedly, Liu Yuan frowned slightly, his voice tinged with anxiety as he said, "After Wu Si left yesterday, he returned in a daze as if something had happened outside. When I asked him, he refused to tell me. Seeing that he looked unwell, I told him to rest and did not bring him today."
Liu Yuan's tone grew more urgent. "In that case, I haven't seen him for almost a night. If he is not at home, where could he have gone? Could it be that something happened to him yesterday?"
With this statement, he completely shifted suspicion away from himself while directing everyone's attention towards the possibility that Wu Si had encountered trouble outside. His intentions were truly sinister.
Ye Xiaohan's heart raced at the mention of yesterday; could it be that Liu Yuan already knew about Gu Da's scheme? If he was prepared for it, would it lead to unforeseen complications?

Just as the court seemed to be falling into a stalemate, the Yard Officer who had been sent out to continue searching returned with the missing Wu Si.

As soon as he arrived, the Yard Officer pushed him down to kneel without resistance, allowing himself to be handled as they wished.
Ye Xiaohan's heart sank to the bottom of the lake as she suddenly looked at Liu Yuan. He was also looking at her, and when their eyes met, Ye Xiaohan clearly saw Liu Yuan's lips curl into a mocking smile.
"Wu Si, there are people holding your written testimony, accusing your young master Liu Yuan of poisoning and framing Peach Blossom Studio's Boss Ye Xiaohan. Is this true?"
Upon hearing his name called, Wu Si seemed to react but merely raised his head and slowly scanned the room. His gaze was fixed, and it was unclear whether he truly saw anyone.
"Wu Si, this official is waiting for your answer. Why won't you respond? Are you guilty of fabricating evidence and too ashamed to speak?"
Liu Yun continued to question from the stand, but Wu Si's body began to tremble. At first, it was a subtle shake that went unnoticed, but in a moment, he started to convulse violently, collapsing to the ground and twitching uncontrollably.
Ye Xiaohan was the first to rush forward to check on his condition. However, as soon as she touched Wu Si's body, she was restrained by the responding Yard Officer.
"What’s going on? Someone, quickly! Come see what’s wrong with him!" Liu Yun shouted in panic at this sudden turn of events.
Ye Xiaohan struggled to break free and lunged forward again, only to see Wu Si begin to spit out blood—dark red liquid gushing from his throat like a burst pipe in a torrential downpour that could not be stopped.
Watching Wu Si's injuries, Ye Xiaohan felt her legs give way beneath her; it was too late—there was no saving him now.
By the time the doctor summoned by the Yard Officer arrived, panting heavily, Wu Si had stopped vomiting blood but was barely breathing, on the brink of death.
The doctor hurried over to examine him and shook his head. "Sir, this man has suffered severe internal and external injuries and has been poisoned with several toxins. It is beyond treatment."
"How could this happen?" Liu Yuan exclaimed in shock, mixed with sorrow. "Wu Si has been with me for many years; though he is playful, he has always served me faithfully. We are master and servant in name only; we share a brotherly bond. Who could be so malicious as to harm him so severely?"
Ye Xiaohan almost wanted to applaud Liu Yuan for his performance; his acting could easily overshadow seasoned veterans. Here he was feigning concern while being capable of eliminating even his closest confidant at any moment!
At that moment, Liu Yun became sharp-witted and immediately recalled Liu Yuan's earlier words. "Could it be related to what happened outside with Wu Si? Did he inadvertently offend someone and ended up being targeted?"
The father and son played off each other seamlessly, while Ye Xiaohan merely sneered, showing no additional expression.
Taking advantage of the others' confusion, Liu Yuan provocatively glanced at Ye Xiaohan. He felt a sense of satisfaction seeing her face filled with anger before turning his gaze to Wu Si with a look of sorrow.
No matter how angry Ye Xiaohan was, the fact remained that Wu Si was dead.
He had died right in front of her, a harsh reality akin to being slapped in the face.
Liu Yuan was underestimated; this scoundrel was not only insidious but also ruthless.
Deputy General Tian's expression shifted slightly as he discreetly scanned the crowd. His gaze lingered on Liu Yuan for a second longer before moving away, quickly regaining his composure.
"Lord Liu, the person is already dead, but the case is still unresolved. I ask you to continue," Deputy General Tian reminded Liu Yun. This matter could not be delayed any longer; things were changing faster and worse than anticipated.
Liu Yun quickly agreed, "Yes, yes, Deputy General Tian remains calm. No wonder you are the right-hand man of the Flying Dragon General, accustomed to handling major situations."
They needed to continue, but there was still a long pause. Wu Si's body could not remain in the hall; it had to be moved away first. The Yang couple was so frightened that they collapsed on the ground, and it took considerable time to stabilize their emotions.
Ye Xiaohan remained silent throughout, merely standing aside and seemingly observing calmly.
