After being brought out by Sister Yun, Qing Luan could no longer return to the Jade Pavilion and instead took a carriage out of the city to see Azure Phoenix.
"Sister Four," upon seeing someone who had not appeared for a long time, Chen Qingyuan asked nervously, "Are you alright? I heard from Plain Grandmother that you returned to Chen Residence. Did they give you any trouble?" That place, which devoured people without spitting out bones, would surely not let Qing Luan go easily.

"Bang!" Plain Grandmother, who was about to serve tea to Qing Luan, was startled by Sister Yun's words and knocked over the teacup. She hurriedly crossed over Chen Qingyuan and anxiously asked Qing Luan, "Miss, did they really drug you?" If that were true, the young lady's life would be ruined forever.
" Luan'er, are you alright?!" Azure Phoenix's hands trembled, and her eyes were red.
Seeing that Sister Yun had frightened them, Qing Luan shot Sister Yun a glare and then comforted them, saying, "I'm fine. They did give me a drug to prevent childbirth, but Yin Hong discovered it. Sister Yun brought me out under the pretense that I was unwell." Sighing, she thought that facing so many concerned people was quite a headache.
"Those heartless bastards," Plain Grandmother said with wide eyes and a tone full of hatred.
"They're not human," Chen Qingyuan recalled what Chen Yan'er had done and spoke with disdain. Even if Azure Phoenix were discovered by others, it wouldn't matter!
"Can we really go out?" Azure Phoenix asked in disbelief and fear, worried that if she went out she might be caught by the Chen family or the Zhou family. In that case, her life would truly be worse than death.
If that were the case, she would rather stay here forever without going out.
"If you're worried, then stay here a little longer," Qing Luan said lightly with a smile. "You said you wanted to leave Chen Residence; after you've been gone for a while, Huang will think you're dead. At that time, when your name is erased from the official records, you'll have a new name just like me!"

"Xiao Bai, let's go," after being cooped up at Chen Residence for so many days, Qing Luan couldn't wait to drag Xiao Bai up the mountain.
"Does that young lady even resemble a young lady?" Plain Grandmother murmured as she watched the wild figure, lamenting that she hadn't raised her properly.
If Qing Luan knew what Plain Grandmother was thinking at that moment, she would surely feel frustrated. "What do I need you to teach me? If I had really learned from you, I would have died several times over by now."
"Isn't it great?" Sister Yun said enviously. "So carefree and unrestrained; how many people can enjoy the freedom like this young lady?" If only she had met her earlier, she would have lived her life differently, never bottling up her emotions again.
"You all praise her so much; if this continues, she'll be heading to the heavens," Plain Grandmother grumbled.
"Miss, where are we going?" Yinhong, who was following her, asked breathlessly.
"Up the mountain," Qing Luan replied without breaking a sweat. Seeing Yinhong looking tired, she smiled and added, "You wait here for me; I'll take Xiao Bai for a run. It's a wolf but treated like a dog—how pathetic!" Thinking of Xiao Bai made her feel similarly trapped, wanting to run but not far enough, wanting to fly but not high enough.
"Miss," Yinhong wanted to refuse, but Qing Luan didn't give her a chance to protest and took off running with Xiao Bai.
"Xiao Bai, slow down," the fresh mountain air made Qing Luan feel like a wild horse set free, laughing joyfully.
"Awwo..." The once-happy Xiao Bai suddenly howled at something it heard and dashed into the bushes with a swift motion, leaving Qing Luan stunned.
"Xiao Bai," Qing Luan chased after the white shadow but found Xiao Bai engaged in a scuffle with a dark figure.
"Xiao Bai, stop!" It was a dog. Fearing misunderstandings, Qing Luan quickly called out to stop them but didn’t expect the two figures—one black and one white—wouldn’t halt as if they had seen an arch-nemesis, tearing at each other fiercely.
"Little Wolf," a voice called out as a figure in white emerged from the bushes. He frowned at the fighting pair, squinting his eyes as he observed without intervening.
"Hey," Qing Luan shouted loudly when she realized he hadn’t noticed her. "That wolf is mine! Tell your dog to stop; he’s not your prey!"
"Who says otherwise?" the White-Clad Youth said arrogantly. "As long as my dog catches it, it's my prey!"
The familiar scene left the two originally at odds momentarily stunned. They carefully scrutinized each other, recognizing the somewhat familiar figure before them, and then spoke in unison, "So it's you!"
"Oh, it's you again," Qing Luan said, recalling the events on the mountain by the fishing village, unable to suppress her anger. "What did Little White do to offend you? Why are you all still haunting us?"
Xuanyuan Rui was pleasantly surprised to see the figure before him. "Little Wolf, stand down!" he shouted angrily. The black dog barked in dissatisfaction but then retreated from the battlefield.
"Little White, come back," Qing Luan called out as well. She didn't want Little White to get hurt, especially in a trivial fight.
"Woo...," Little White did not retreat but glared angrily at the black dog. It held a grudge and would not forget how it had been chased away by that black dog in embarrassment; this vendetta must be avenged.
"Come back," Qing Luan said, feeling a bit envious that the other dog obeyed its owner. She bared her teeth in a threatening manner and warned, "If you don't come back, I'll cook you when we get home." How embarrassing!
