After a night filled with heart-stopping events, none of them could calmly close their eyes. They could only stay together, enduring the night until dawn.
"…Sigh, let's go have breakfast," Xiao Qing said softly as she noticed the time.
"Yeah, let's go!"
The three of them tidied up a bit and stepped out, looking exhausted and yawning.
"…What do you think happened yesterday?" Xiao Qing asked, still a bit shaken. "There are so many people who have experienced the same Urban Legend; why was it only me who encountered it?"
"Well… from a scientific perspective, it could be that you were so scared that you unconsciously magnified your fears, creating a form of self-suggestion. That’s what led us into a sort of collective hypnosis," Xiao Mei said, adjusting her glasses as she analyzed calmly.
"Not true! Only you two were hypnotized; I was wide awake and even helped you break the hypnosis!" Xiao You retorted coolly.
"Is that so?" Xiao Qing couldn't help but chuckle bitterly. "But every time I see news reports treating these cases as mass hysteria, I think nothing of it. Yet after experiencing it myself, I truly feel that those doctors and scholars are just spouting empty words!"
"There's nothing we can do; after all, science can't verify these things yet. They can only come up with some excuse to brush it off," Xiao Mei shrugged helplessly.
"Sigh… I probably won't be able to look in the mirror for a while…" Xiao Qing lamented.
"Hah, that's what you get!" Xiao You scoffed nonchalantly.
"Anyway, after we eat and head back, we should throw away everything that needs to go and burn whatever needs burning. Once everything is sorted out, we can go to the temple together to pray for peace of mind," Xiao Mei suggested.
