Elder Brother Li and Hanno had lived in the Flower Thousand Bones World for hundreds of years before they finally ascended and left that world behind.
The two of them woke up from their bed, and Elder Brother Li opened his right hand, presenting a gem that radiated golden light to Hanno. "I feel that this time, I can return to the modern world."
Hanno was incredibly excited. "Let's try it right away."
She jumped out of bed, pulling Elder Brother Li down with her, and they both rushed to the Porcelain Jar.
The golden gem melted into the Porcelain Jar, and a time-space portal emerged. This time, the portal appeared more evolved than ever before. Previously, it looked like an ordinary stone door made of jade, but now intricate patterns etched in gold thread adorned the stone door, giving it an air of mystery.
Elder Brother Li looked at Hanno, who gave him an encouraging smile. He reached out his hand slowly toward the time-space portal...
His hand vanished, followed by his entire body disappearing before Hanno's eyes, lost to the Great Zhou Dynasty!
Hanno was filled with excitement as she dove into the time-space portal, returning to the modern world, where she was immediately embraced by Elder Brother Li.
"Nono, I'm back! I'm back..." Elder Brother Li cheered as he lifted Hanno into the air and caught her again, tossing her up joyfully like a child.
Hanno endured Elder Brother Li's childish antics until he finally set her down. She patted his arm gently and said with heartfelt warmth, "Welcome home, dear!"
Having been away from modern society for over twenty years, Li Wei Feng's memories of the present were still vivid; however, everything felt surreal now. As he touched the television and refrigerator, he momentarily forgot how to use them. After a while, he sighed deeply and turned on the television, watching the images flicker on screen. The familiar yet strange scenes brought tears to his eyes, but his strong will quickly calmed him down. He used the remote to switch to Channel One. Just then, it was time for the morning news, and Li Wei Feng watched with great interest.
Hanno smiled at Elder Brother Li before heading to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Remembering the lavish breakfasts Elder Brother Li had enjoyed in Great Zhou every morning, she decided to make a simple meal: milk, bread, fried eggs, fried sausages, and bacon... The Western-style breakfast was laid out on the table. Elder Brother Li nostalgically remarked, "It's been so long since I've had a Western breakfast; I really miss it."
Hanno chuckled softly. "From now on, you'll be able to enjoy it often."
After they finished breakfast, Hanno took out a set of modern clothes for Elder Brother Li to change into—he was still wearing ancient robes.
As Elder Brother Li changed clothes, he asked, "These clothes don't seem like something my father-in-law would wear?"
Hanno rolled her eyes at him. "These are specially prepared for you. I didn't know when you would come back, so I prepared two sets in our room. The rest of your clothes are all in the house I bought for you."
Elder Brother Li was happy, stretching his neck to plant a kiss on Hanno's face. "Darling, thank you."
Hanno swatted his large face away and helped him undo his bun, letting his long black hair fall down. Hanno took a comb and smoothed out the black locks, tying them back with a white ribbon. He joked, "Your hair is even better than those women in shampoo commercials. Do you think someone would approach you for an advertisement if you walked down the street?"
Li Wei Feng laughed, "Give me a break; your hair is even better than mine. Why hasn't anyone asked you to do an ad?"
The two shared a laugh as they quickly got Li Wei Feng ready. Standing before Hanno, Li Wei Feng was tall and handsome, dressed in stylish modern clothes, making Hanno's surroundings fill with pink hearts.
"My husband is so handsome!" Hanno exclaimed, cupping her face in her hands. "He's even more attractive than the stars on TV."
Those stars on television couldn't compare to the refined demeanor and commanding presence that her husband exuded from his high status.
Li Wei Feng basked in the praise from his beloved wife, strutting back and forth in front of Hanno and striking various poses.
Hanno chuckled as she pulled out the identification card she had prepared earlier for Elder Brother Li. "Here you go, your ID."
Elder Brother Li was surprised. "You even got my ID ready?"
"I asked my cousin-in-law to help with it," Hanno replied. "How can you buy a house without an ID?"
"I thought you were using my old ID."
Hanno rolled her eyes at him. "Are you silly? Your old ID was canceled ages ago; there's no way it could still be used."
Li Wei Feng rubbed his nose and grinned foolishly.
Hanno led Elder Brother Li out the door, and as they passed by villagers who saw Li Wei Feng, their initial surprise quickly turned into knowing smiles. They greeted Hanno cheerfully, "Nono, are you bringing your boyfriend home?"
Hanno nodded generously. "Yes, Third Cousin, this is Li Wei Feng, my boyfriend—the one I'm planning to marry. Wei Feng, hurry up and greet everyone."
"Third Cousin," Li Wei Feng called out respectfully.
"Good, good, the kid is not bad, full of spirit," Third Cousin said, clearly pleased with Li Wei Feng. "Nono, you have a good eye."
Hanno smiled shyly, his face flushing red. To Third Cousin and the villagers, it looked like an expression of bashfulness and happiness, which made their smiles even wider. However, Li Wei Feng quickly found acceptance among them.
As the car drove out of the village, Li Wei Feng glanced back and said, "The villagers here are really nice."
Hanno, driving with pride, replied, "Of course! Most of them are my relatives."
Li Wei Feng chuckled and ruffled Hanno's hair.
"I'll take you to see your house first," Hanno said. "Then we can go shopping and buy you some clothes and shoes."
Upon hearing the word "shopping," Li Wei Feng's head nearly exploded. "Didn't you already buy me a lot of clothes? We don't need to buy more!"
"That was hardly anything; not even a wardrobe is full!" Hanno laughed as he noticed Elder Brother Li's polite but confused expression. "I get it; shopping is a chore for you men. We won't go then. When you return to Da Zhou, I'll go shopping for clothes by myself."
Li Wei Feng sighed in relief while Hanno laughed even more joyfully.
"Since we're not going shopping, let's go see your old friends in the Provincial Capital!"
Li Wei Feng hesitated at this suggestion. "But I died in my past life. Isn't it inappropriate to meet them? How do I explain that I came back to life? I can't possibly reveal the matter of the Porcelain Jar to them!"
Hanno replied confidently, "I've already thought of a reason for you."
Elder Brother Li quickly asked, "What reason?"
Hanno said, "I told you this world has Cultivators, right?"
"Elder Brother Li" nodded, "What does it have to do with them?"
"Hanno" replied, "Weren't you missing? 'Zhu Wenrui' and the others never found your body. My thought is that you were gravely injured and on the brink of death when a 'Cultivator' saved you. Seeing your exceptional talent and 'Spiritual Root,' they took you as their disciple. Now that you've entered the fold, you don't need to stay by your master's side anymore; your master has sent you back to the mortal realm."
"Elder Brother Li" hesitated, "This method is good, but is it wise to let them know about the existence of 'Cultivators'?"
"Hanno" chuckled, "Don't worry, they already know about 'Cultivators.'"
"Elder Brother Li" understood his wife well and asked, "You planned this all along, didn't you? To ensure I could appear openly, you deliberately revealed the abilities of 'Cultivators' to them?"
"Hanno" praised him, "As expected of my husband, you immediately grasped my intentions."
"Elder Brother Li" felt deeply moved, "Nono, thank you for doing so much for me."
Hanno smiled, "Between husband and wife, there's no need for thanks."
"Well, of course not." "Elder Brother Li" leaned in and kissed Hanno on the cheek.
When "Shen Chuiyang" and "Zhu Wenrui" saw "Elder Brother Li," they were both taken aback at first, followed by a wave of joy.
"Shen Chuiyang" and "Zhu Wenrui" each punched "Li Wei Feng" lightly in the chest before embracing him tightly.
"Goodness, weren't you dead? How did you come back to life?" "Shen Chuiyang" joked with a laugh.
"Zhu Wenrui" nodded vigorously in agreement, "This body looks just like yours but is much younger; you've really hit the jackpot."
"Elder Brother Li" laughed heartily, "Isn't it great that I've returned to my youth?"
"Returned to youth?" "Shen Chuiyang" and "Zhu Wenrui" were taken aback for a moment before suddenly leaning in closer and asking in lowered voices, "Buddy, are you a 'Cultivator' now?"
Elder Brother Li watched their reactions with amusement, clearly enjoying the impact Hanno's past actions had on them.
"Yes, I am now a Cultivator," Elder Brother Li straightforwardly shared the fabricated story Hanno had concocted with the two of them.
"A Cultivator!" The eyes of the two were filled with envy but no jealousy. "You are really lucky!"
"Yeah, too bad neither of us has a Spiritual Root."
"Brother Feng, want to practice a bit?" Zhu Wenrui eagerly suggested a challenge to Elder Brother Li.
Elder Brother Li glanced sideways at Zhu Wenrui. "You think you can actually beat me now that I'm a Cultivator? Are you just looking for a beating?"
Zhu Wenrui scoffed, "So what if you're a Cultivator? I'm also an Ancient Martial Artist now. Although I don't have True Essence, I have Inner Power. Let's compete without using spells and see who's stronger!"
Elder Brother Li was pleasantly surprised. "Good! It seems you’ve had some adventures too."
Zhu Wenrui laughed, "What adventures? It's all thanks to your wife giving me and Brother Shen the martial arts manuals and the cleansing method recipe that I was able to cultivate my Inner Power so quickly. Brother Feng, how come your luck is so good? Not only can you cultivate, but you also found such a wonderful wife in Hanno?"
Elder Brother Li's face softened with affection. "Yes, meeting Hanno is the luckiest thing in my life."
Shen Chuiyang smiled in understanding; for him, meeting Chang Miao was the luckiest thing in his life.
Elder Brother Li sparred with Zhu Wenrui and Shen Chuiyang in turn. With his years of martial arts training and several lifetimes of experience, he was not someone Zhu Wenrui and Shen Chuiyang, who had just begun to cultivate their Inner Power, could compare to. Instead of quickly ending the matches, Elder Brother Li took the time to guide them, correcting some deficiencies in their techniques during the sparring sessions.
