The Eastern Emperor Bell flew out in search of Jia Qianjun.
Hanno and Elder Brother Li swiftly flew to Jia Qianjun's window, slipping inside his bedroom through the open pane. Inside, Jia Qianjun was sound asleep, with the bell hovering above his head as if confirming his identity. Perhaps it had verified him, for suddenly, the bell transformed into a streak of light and shot into Jia Qianjun's forehead. In his dream state, flames erupted from Jia Qianjun's body, instantly incinerating the large bed beneath him. As the fire threatened to consume the rest of the bedroom's furniture and floor, Elder Brother Li quickly cast a spell, encasing Jia Qianjun within a barrier.
"The temperature of those flames is incredibly high," Hanno remarked. "If you hadn't reacted in time, the entire area could have gone up in flames."
Elder Brother Li replied, "I have a theory about Jia Qianjun's identity."
"I know what you're thinking," Hanno said. "I'll give this theory a nine out of ten, but I'll hold back one point until One Minute confirms it."
The two exited Jia Qianjun's bedroom. Elder Brother Li settled onto the couch in the living room and turned on the television, while Hanno wandered into Jia Qianjun's kitchen. He opened the refrigerator, pulled out two bottles of drinks and a vacuum-sealed Peking Duck, heated it in the microwave, and brought it out to share with Elder Brother Li.
"Jia Qianjun bought a pretty nice place here, and he got it at a steal," Hanno said as he nibbled on the roasted duck while gossiping with Elder Brother Li.
Due to most of his work being in the mainland, Jia Qianjun had purchased this house in Provincial Capital for convenience. He was quite lucky; housing prices in this upscale area were no less than eight thousand yuan per square meter, yet Jia Qianjun had bought it from the previous owner for only six thousand per square meter. There was no conspiracy involved; the previous owner hadn’t recognized him as a celebrity trying to curry favor but was merely a speculator who had purchased dozens of properties. When funds ran dry later on, he sold one to raise money. Jia Qianjun happened to catch the owner while he was returning a property to the developer and made a bold move to buy it outright.
"He should try his luck at the lottery," Hanno laughed.
Elder Brother Li listened to Hanno's gossip without comment. However, when Hanno opened a cold Sprite to drink, Elder Brother Li stopped him and handed over his slightly warmed soy milk instead. "You’re carrying a child; you shouldn’t drink anything cold."
Hanno protested playfully, "I'm an immortal now; my body is strong! How could drinking something cold possibly harm my stomach?"
Elder Brother Li insisted, and unable to argue further, Hanno reluctantly began sipping the soy milk.
On television was a variety show produced by a major entertainment network called Real Men. It was quite entertaining; both Hanno and Elder Brother Li enjoyed watching it, although Elder Brother Li—once part of Special Forces—couldn’t help but scoff at the antics of the celebrities.
After finishing the show, they glanced back toward the bedroom and noticed that Jia Qianjun still hadn’t awakened. The flames continued to burn around him fiercely, yet he showed no signs of pain and remained remarkably calm.
The two of them retracted their Divine Sense and continued watching television. Hanno simply entered the telecommunications drama library and selected a show to watch. It was an old, old piece called Midnight Sun, starring the young Golden Shadow Emperor and Wu the Actor. Both Best Actors were quite young, playing not villains but incredibly righteous police officers. However, the standout performances in this drama were not from the two Best Actors but from the two leading ladies. Whether it was Golden Shadow Emperor's girlfriend or Wu the Actor's girlfriend, both girls were exceptionally talented, intelligent, and decisive.
Golden Shadow Emperor's girlfriend, a psychologist, was particularly impressive; if she weren't smart, she wouldn't have been able to kill Wu the Actor's behind-the-scenes boss, who was also Golden Shadow Emperor's most respected uncle. What Hanno admired most was Wu the Actor's fiancée, Lin Jing. Her intelligence rivaled that of the psychologist; she was the boss's daughter whose beloved fiancé had been killed by her father. Caught in a dilemma, she chose to forget. But avoidance was only temporary; ultimately, she decided to confront her reality, personally shooting her father to save Golden Shadow Emperor and the psychologist, sending her own father to prison. How could Hanno not admire such a courageous girl?
After watching ten consecutive episodes of the drama, there was finally some movement in the room as Hanno and Elder Brother Li were fortunate enough to witness the transformation of a human into another species.
"The golden crow with three legs surrounded by flames..." Hanno said to Elder Brother Li, "Congratulations, the remaining One Minute is yours."
Elder Brother Li replied, "I didn't expect Jia Qianjun to be a reincarnation of an ancient deity. Could it be that the stories from the Primeval Era circulating online are true? Is Eastern Emperor Taiyi really the brother of Demon Emperor Jun? But in Nine Songs, Eastern Emperor Taiyi is depicted as an emperor, the highest god."
Hanno responded, "Zhan Zhao is already Yang Jian's son; isn't it easier to accept that Eastern Emperor Taiyi and Demon Emperor Jun are brothers?"
Elder Brother Li nodded in agreement. "That makes sense."
The three-legged golden crow showed no signs of awakening as flames continued to burn. Hanno lounged on the sand watching television while Elder Brother Li closed all the windows and drew the curtains before heading out to buy breakfast. Although Hanno wasn't hungry, Elder Brother Li insisted on ensuring that Hanno didn't starve his baby inside him, stubbornly following every guideline from his soon-to-be-dad manual.
As night fell, Jia Qianjun finally awakened and walked out of the bedroom. He looked much like before but radiated an elevated aura of nobility and elegance, dressed in a golden robe reminiscent of a king from ancient legends. Both Hanno and Elder Brother Li involuntarily stood up.
"What should we call you now?" Hanno asked.
"Just call me Jia Qianjun," Jia Qianjun said as he reined in his imposing presence. "I want to thank you both; if it weren't for your continuous help in upgrading Eastern Emperor Bell, I wouldn't have regained my memories and divine power."
Jia Qianjun's attitude put both Hanno and Elder Brother Li at ease as they sat back down on the sand, maintaining their friendly demeanor.
"Are you really Eastern Emperor Taiyi?" Hanno asked.
"I am Eastern Emperor Taiyi," Jia Qianjun replied, "but Eastern Emperor Taiyi is not just me."
Hanno was puzzled. "What do you mean?"
Jia Qianjun replied, "I am merely a remnant soul reincarnated from Eastern Emperor Taiyi; the true Eastern Emperor Taiyi has already vanished."
"In the final battle between the Witch Clan and the demon race, Eastern Emperor Taiyi perished alongside the Twelve Ancestor Witches. Most of his soul dissipated, leaving only a remnant that fell into Reincarnation, while his power was sealed within the Eastern Emperor Bell. However, the Eastern Emperor Bell was also shattered during the battle, scattering its pieces across various realms. Fortunately, you all managed to gather the Eastern Emperor Bell from different worlds."
"What about that bell?" Hanno asked.
"That is the spirit of the Eastern Emperor Bell," Jia Qianjun explained. "It contains the memories and powers of Eastern Emperor Taiyi. However, due to the passage of time, I have only absorbed about one-third of its power; my current strength is still inferior to yours."
Hanno chuckled, "Even one-third of that power has already elevated you to an Earth Immortal; if you had all of it, we would have to look up to you."
Elder Brother Li asked with concern, "Now that the spirit of the Eastern Emperor Bell has returned to you, does that mean our Eastern Emperor Bell is useless? Can I still return to Great Zhou?"
He worried about not being able to go back and what would happen to Zhou Le and Li Yishu.
Jia Qianjun quickly reassured him, "Don't worry. Although the spirit has returned to me, it hasn't taken away all of the Eastern Emperor Bell's abilities. The Eastern Emperor Bell in your possession still retains its power to traverse space, but it can no longer reach as many worlds as before; it can only travel back and forth between the modern world and the Great Zhou World where Wei Feng grew up."
Elder Brother Li sighed in relief. "That's already great. By the way, could we borrow the Eastern Emperor Bell for a while? Not long—just a hundred years at most."
A hundred years wasn't long? Of course, for the three present, a hundred years truly felt brief; they were nearly immortal beings, and time held no meaning for them anymore.
Jia Qianjun said, "The Eastern Emperor Bell is yours now; I only need the spirit."
Elder Brother Li and Hanno were both delighted and grateful upon hearing this. Elder Brother Li thought for a moment and felt that he and Hanno had struck gold. Although they had found the Eastern Emperor Bell together and restored it, they had gained much more from it. Not only had they reunited through the Eastern Emperor Bell, but they had also transformed from ordinary mortals into powerful immortals with endless lifespans—benefiting their families as well. Now Jia Qianjun was giving them the Eastern Emperor Bell...
Elder Brother Li took out three Peaches of Immortality from his space and pushed them toward Jia Qianjun. "These are Peaches of Immortality that ripen once every three thousand years. They are far inferior to the value of the Eastern Emperor Bell, but it's a small token of my gratitude."
"Peach of Immortality?" Jia Qianjun's eyes lit up as he cheerfully picked one of the peaches. "Are these really from the Queen Mother of the West's Peach Garden?"
Elder Brother Li nodded.
"That's impressive! Have you all been to the Peach Garden?" Jia Qianjun took a bite of the Peach of Immortality. "Mmm, it tastes good."
"Just in time," Elder Brother Li said. "Now that you possess the spirit of the Eastern Emperor Bell, you should have the ability to traverse time and space, right?"
"That's right," Jia Qianjun replied vaguely. "Once I finish these three Peaches of Immortality, I'll go to the world of the Peach Garden and get some nine-thousand-year and six-thousand-year ripe Peaches of Immortality to enjoy."
Hanno chuckled, "Why not go to the world we just left? The Sun Wukong there often sneaks into the Peach Garden to steal peaches; he can help take the blame."
Jia Qianjun laughed, "Which world are you talking about?"
Hanno replied, "It's the world you created in Slay the Dragon Vein, after Nan Fengning and the others were transported to the Earth Immortal Realm."
With that, Hanno took out a camera and removed the memory card, tossing it to Jia Qianjun. "This is a video we shot in that world; it should be helpful for your new movie."
Jia Qianjun caught the video and smiled. "Now I understand where those ancient battle videos and Zombie siege videos you made earlier came from. Hey, this is really convenient and saves money!"
