"Yes," Elder Brother Li said politely, smiling like an elegant nobleman. "My name is Wei Feng. May I ask what your name is, miss?"
The girl's face flushed slightly. "My name is Feng."
After revealing her name, she quickly realized her behavior was inappropriate and immediately resumed her guarded and cold demeanor. "What exactly are you? Why are you inquiring about the Bone-Eating Well?"
"Don't worry, I won't interfere with your village's matters," Elder Brother Li reassured her. "I came across some ancient texts that mentioned the Bone-Eating Well. It is said to lead to another world, and I am curious to see it and perhaps explore that other world through the well."
"I've never heard of the Bone-Eating Well leading to another world," the girl replied. "However, it is true that the bones of monsters thrown into the well mysteriously disappear. Perhaps the Bone-Eating Well really does have the ability to connect to another space!"
Realizing Elder Brother Li's intentions for seeking the Bone-Eating Well, Feng relaxed and lowered her guard. "You truly are knowledgeable; you must be a young master from the lord's family in the city, right? Your family's collection of books must be extensive."
Elder Brother Li merely smiled, allowing Feng to speculate.
"Come on, I'll take you to see the Bone-Eating Well," Feng said, her impression of him very favorable, mixed with a girl's admiration for an outstanding man.
The Bone-Eating Well appeared no different from an ordinary well at first glance—square and surrounded by wooden planks. However, these planks were unusual; they were made from Yushen Wood, also known as Era Tree trunks, which explained its ability to traverse time and space.
Standing at the edge of the well, Elder Brother Li released his Divine Sense to feel its energy. Indeed, a layer of low-level spatial law power clung to the Bone-Eating Well. Although this power was low-grade, it was beyond the perception and control of the monsters and humans in this world; only someone like Elder Brother Li, who had traversed different worlds and gained some understanding of temporal laws, could sense and even grasp it.
"Thank you for bringing me to the Bone-Eating Well. Here’s a token of my gratitude; I hope it helps you," Elder Brother Li said as he took out a Zhu Guo obtained from the Shushan World and handed it to Feng.
Feng's eyes widened. She sensed immense power emanating from the cute little fruit. If she ate it, her spiritual power would surely surpass that of her sister Balloon Flower at her peak, making her even stronger in protecting the village. After hesitating for a moment, she accepted the Zhu Guo. "Thank you for your generosity. I will remember this kindness and repay it."
"No need for repayment; it's just a token of thanks," Wei Feng replied before diving headfirst into the Bone-Eating Well.
"Ah—" Feng was taken aback and hurried over to the Bone-Eating Well, leaning against the wooden railing to look inside. All she saw was darkness; the elegant and handsome young man was gone.
"He disappeared, he really disappeared," Feng murmured, feeling a sense of loss in her heart. "Did he really go to another world?"
...
Hanno stepped out of the extended luxury sedan, squinting at the large characters above the school gate: Yingde Academy. The corner of Hanno's eye twitched. Why did her original self choose this academy? Was she still a fan of F4?
As Hanno walked into the campus, her classmates greeted her warmly. In this integrated world, the F4 family’s influence was not absolute; many families had comparable power, such as the Aizawa Group behind Hanno. Her status allowed her to stand on equal footing with F4 within Yingde Academy.
Just as she was walking, a bucket of dirty water splashed toward Hanno, causing gasps around her. With a swift kick, Hanno sent a piece of tile flying from the ground. The tile soared through the air, blocking the incoming dirty water and rebounding it back onto the two instigators, drenching them from head to toe.
"Wow—"
"That was so cool!"
"She truly is a princess!"
Cheers erupted around her but quickly fell silent.
"Stop shouting! Do you want to get a red notice?"
"What?"
"Look over there!"
Everyone turned to see one of the instigators, drenched and looking like a drowned rat, causing them all to shut their mouths and shrink back in fear as they ran away.
"That woman!" Domyoji Tsukasa wiped some dirty water off his face, gritting his teeth as he approached Hanno, ready to settle the score.
"I was just defending myself; I merely reflected your attack," Hanno replied calmly, pulling out a tissue from her bag and offering it to him. "Here, wipe yourself off."
Domyoji Tsukasa snorted and snatched the tissue, wiping the dirty water from his head. "You could have just dodged it. Why did you have to bounce it back?"
"Because I like an old saying from China: 'If someone does not offend me, I will not offend them; if someone offends me, I will return it tenfold,'" Hanno pointed at another culprit. "I think you should be looking for the real troublemaker instead of bothering me."
"You—how can you be so heartless?!" Makiya Suna exclaimed upon hearing this. "Not only did you splash us with dirty water, but you also shifted the blame onto me. You can't tell right from wrong!"
"Isn't it you who can't tell right from wrong?" Hanno retorted with a cold laugh. "You're the one who rudely splashed dirty water on others. If you throw dirt, you should be prepared to face the consequences. No one is going to pay for your mistakes. Domyoji Tsukasa—"
Hanno called out the boy's name.
"What?" he snapped back irritably.
"If you're looking to play the Cinderella and Prince game, at least open your eyes a bit wider and find a Cinderella who knows manners and etiquette, rather than just some girl who has so-called courage but openly despises and secretly envies wealthy people," Hanno said before turning to leave. She had no interest in this so-called campus prince and Cinderella storyline; she would much rather watch her brother and other princes play tennis.
"You woman, what nonsense are you spouting? My eyes aren't so bad that I'd fall for someone like her!" Domyoji Tsukasa shouted after Hanno, further angering Makiya Suna. Makiya was already embarrassed by Hanno's words, and Domyoji's comments made her feel even more humiliated.
"I wouldn't look at you, you bastard. You think you're so great, acting all high and mighty, with your F4 nonsense, roaming around school in packs, causing trouble. You're nothing but a parasite hiding under your father's shadow, just a fool. You've never earned a dime on your own and contributed nothing to society. I'd have to be blind to ever consider you," Makiya Suna shouted, clenching her fists at Domyoji Tsukasa.
"What do you mean by 'you and I'? Stupid woman!"
"…"
"…"
The two behind them started arguing again. Hanno rolled her eyes and quickened her pace to distance herself from them. Whether they ended up as a couple was none of her business!
After the first class ended, Hanno didn’t go home but entered the F4's exclusive lounge.
"What’s going on? Did you come all the way here for something that can’t be solved? Is Domyoji actually dating that weed girl?" Hanno asked as she sat down on the sofa, while Ximen Zong Er Lang hurriedly offered her a cup of coffee.
"I am not!" Domyoji yelled furiously. "I have better taste than that."
Hanno shrugged, noncommittal.
Domyoji was so angry he wanted to grab Hanno by the collar to correct her thoughts, but Ximen stopped him.
Hanae Rui lazily yawned and said, "You're also a student council member; this matter needs your approval."
"What matter?" Hanno asked. There were only five members in the student council of Yingde Academy: F4 plus Elder Sister Akechi.
“Kuroshuu Academy has sent an invitation, wanting to hold a joint event with us at Yingde Academy,” Hanae Rui said as he took out the invitation and handed it to Hanno.
Hanno reached out to take it. “Kuroshuu Academy?”
Is it the Kuroshuu Academy she thought it was?
“Yes, it’s that Kuroshuu Academy where the people are even more arrogant than us,” Meizaku replied irritably.
Ximen quickly tried to comfort him. “There’s nothing we can do; many of the students there have connections to the political world. But you don’t need to be so angry; those people are mostly nocturnal and won’t compete with you for beauty.”
Meizaku huffed twice. “Anyway, I don’t like people from Kuroshuu Academy. Hanno, reject this invitation.”
Ignoring Meizaku, Hanno turned directly to Hanae Rui. “Let’s vote on it!”
Three votes in favor, one against, and one abstention—Domyoji didn’t care either way and chose not to vote at all. The student council of Yingde Academy decided to hold a joint event with Kuroshuu Academy, scheduled for a month later on Saturday and Sunday. Considering the two-class system of Kuroshuu Academy, the time was set from four in the afternoon until eleven at night.
During the month of preparation, several events unfolded at Yingde Academy: perhaps due to Hanno’s words, the proud Domyoji, not wanting to appear lacking in judgment, did not pay special attention to Makiya Suna, nor did he showcase their fairytale romance. Makiya Suna, bullied by sticky notes, despite her resilience and tenacity, could not withstand the continuous teasing and harassment. Especially after her grades plummeted due to these torments, she had no choice but to leave Yingde Academy, severing her only connection with princes for this lifetime.
Toudou Shizuka returned home and announced at her birthday party that she was renouncing her claim to the Toudou Family inheritance. Once this news broke, Atobe and their planned group began to take action. Soon after, the Toudou Family went bankrupt due to Toudou Shizuka’s irresponsible decision. Out of friendship, F4 wanted to help the Toudou Family, but they had no control over family matters and could only watch helplessly as their elders got involved in dividing up the resources of the Toudou Family.
Due to the situation with the Toudou Family, Hanae Rui remained in low spirits, a mood that lingered into the joint event between the two academies. He did not participate in campus activities but instead found a quiet place to settle down. However, unusually, he did not sleep; he simply sat there gazing into the distance, lost in thought.
