After a long while, when the night had completely enveloped the sky, Hanae Rui withdrew his gaze. Suddenly, he noticed an unfamiliar woman sitting beside him, who seemed to have been there for quite some time. If she were any other girl, Hanae Rui might have thought she was infatuated with him and trying to get closer. However, this girl was too beautiful and exuded an air of nobility that suggested she was not from an ordinary family; she would not engage in such forward behavior. Moreover, her eyes were filled with melancholy, and her face bore an unshakeable sadness that seemed to surpass his own.
"Are you a student of Kuroshuu Academy?" Hanae Rui asked the girl, surprising himself with his initiative.
The girl slowly turned her head to look at Hanae Rui and replied, "No, I'm just here to visit some old friends."
"Who are your friends? Have you found them?" Hanae Rui inquired. "Do you want me to help you look for them? I'm part of the student council at Yingde Academy. My name is Hanae Rui."
"Ah, I'm Hikazuki Kan!"

"Hanno, have you seen Hanae Rui?" Ximen and Domyoji approached Hanno, asking about Hanae Rui's whereabouts.
"Nope!" Hanno shook his head. "Isn't he sleeping in your exclusive lounge?"
"The lounge and all the places he usually hangs out are empty," Ximen said worriedly. "He's been in a bad mood lately because of Jing's situation, and we're afraid he might do something foolish."
"He shouldn't be that reckless. Hanae Rui is much more sensible than Domyoji," Hanno replied.
"Hey—" Domyoji gritted his teeth in annoyance.
"You don't know how obsessed he is with Jing," Meizaku added.
"Hanae Rui is an adult now—" Just as Hanno said this, his gaze caught sight of two identical figures passing by: silver-gray hair and light purple eyes. Such distinct features belonged to two twin brothers. "I'll go with you to find Hanae Rui."
A sense of foreboding swept through Hanno.
When several people found Hanae Rui, he was embracing a very beautiful girl, her head resting on his shoulder as she seemed to kiss his neck.
"Sorry to interrupt, please continue," Meizaku chuckled, pulling Domyoji back.
Ximen wore a broad smile. "This guy really has good luck with the ladies. That girl is even prettier than Jing! I hope she can help him completely forget about Jing."
"Idiot!" Hanno couldn't help but scold the two, pushing them aside as he moved forward.
Ximen grabbed Hanno's arm. "Don't go disturb them."
"Disturb my ass," Hanno cursed. "If we don't stop this, Hanae Rui will be in serious trouble."
"What do you mean?" the three asked in unison.
Before Hanno could respond, another voice emerged. "Hikazuki Kan, how dare you harm my guest on my territory? This time, I won't let you leave."
As the voice spoke, a man stepped out from the shadows. He was strikingly handsome, exuding an air of noble elegance. Dressed in a white shirt and a black trench coat with a bow tie, he undeniably radiated a kingly presence that complemented his stunning looks.
"Kuran Shu!" Not only Hanno but also Ximen and Meizaku recognized the newcomer.
Upon hearing Kuran Shu's words, the girl finally lifted her head. Her lips were a vivid red, as if she had just fed. Ximen and Domyoji couldn't help but gasp, "Ah—"
Kuran Shu glanced over at them and sighed; it seemed today's events would not end well. The individuals involved, including Hikazuki Kan and this bloodsucker he had chosen, all had complicated backgrounds among humans. What a mess he had gotten himself into!
Hanno ignored everyone else and stepped forward, snatching Hanae Rui from Hikazuki Kan's grasp. Ximen and the others hurried over to support the unconscious Hanae Rui, anxiously asking Hanno, "What happened to Rui?"
"What do you think? She was drained by a vampire," Hanno replied curtly.
Hikazuki Kan and Kuran Shu exchanged surprised glances at Hanno.
Hikazuki Kan sneered, "The girl is not simple; she actually knows about vampires. Kuran Shu, if you want to keep me around, you don't have that kind of ability."
Kuran Shu scoffed, "I am a pureblooded emperor; I have the power to deal with you."
Hikazuki Kan laughed, "Capture me? What about your fiancée? Are you just going to ignore her?"
Kuran Shu's expression suddenly changed. "What did you do to Yuki?"
Hikazuki Kan grinned, "I haven't done anything yet, but who knows what will happen later? Didn't you notice that one of them wasn't following me? You should know he looks exactly like his brother; Kuroshou Yuuki won't be on guard against her childhood friend!"
"Damn it!" Kuran Shu exclaimed upon hearing that Kuroshou Yuuki was in danger. He abandoned the thought of capturing Hikazuki Kan and rescuing Hanae Rui, turning swiftly and disappearing into the darkness.
Hikazuki Kan smiled lightly, then turned to face Hanno and the others elegantly. "Since you are friends of Hanazawa-kun, I'll do you a favor and let you become just like her!"
"What do you mean?" Domyoji shouted. "What have you done to Rui?"
"Isn't your companion already one of us? Hanazawa-kun has been drained by me and has turned into a vampire."
"You're crazy! There are no such things as ghosts or monsters in this world; you're out of your mind. Ximen, Meizaku, let's go! We need to get Rui to the hospital," Domyoji said as he picked up Hanae Rui to leave. However, Ximen and Meizaku did not move. They were more perceptive than Domyoji; although they found the idea of vampires unrealistic, everything before them felt dangerous. Even if the woman in front of them wasn't a vampire, she was still an extremely dangerous person, her gaze predatory as it fell upon them.
"Miss, your companion has a problem with his head. What about you?" Hikazuki Kan ignored Domyoji and instead asked Hanno.
Hanno smirked, "I think he's quite right; you definitely have a screw loose."
"What a bold girl, but I really don't like that," Hikazuki Kan's expression turned cold. "I've made up my mind; I will drain your blood and leave you without a life."
Hanno scoffed, "I fear you might not have the ability to do that."
"I'll show you whether I have the ability or not." Hikazuki Kan suddenly charged at Hanno, moving so fast that she left only an afterimage in front of Ximen and Domyoji. The three stared in shock; the seemingly frail beauty was actually this powerful? Could it be true that she was a vampire? Their worldview shattered in an instant.
What shattered their perceptions even further was when their companion conjured a sword out of thin air and struck the woman, who was suspected to be a vampire, sending her crashing to the ground, severely injured.
"You are a Vampire Hunter?" Hikazuki Kan gasped, spitting out blood in fear.
"No! I won't kill you," Hanno replied to Hikazuki Kan. "Naturally, someone else will take care of that. You should leave."
Hikazuki Kan suppressed her disbelief, casting a deep glance at Hanno before dragging her severely injured self away from the four.
Hanno flipped her hand and sheathed the sword. She sighed inwardly; having only trained for a little over a month, her strength was still too low. Otherwise, how could she allow these vampires to prance around in front of her?
Meizaku and Ximen approached, with Domyoji being the first to speak. "Akechi Kano, I didn't expect you to be this impressive! Was that swordplay Chinese Martial Arts? Can you teach me?"
Ximen asked, "Hanno, was that woman really a vampire?"
Meizaku added, "Hanno, people from Kuroshuu Academy are no ordinary folks, right? What is their connection to vampires?"
Hanno spoke up, "Let's head back to your exclusive lounge first. We need to make sure Hanae Rui is settled."
The three immediately expressed their concern for their companion. "Is Rui okay?"
Hanno sighed, "Her life is not in danger, but..."
"But what?" the three asked in unison.
Hanno dropped a bombshell, "Hanae Rui was bitten by the pureblood vampire Hikazuki Kan from Level 1a and has consumed his blood. She has already become a Level 1d vampire."
"What?"
...
"This world is not just inhabited by humans; there are also monsters, demons, reapers, and vampires. It's just that your previous experiences were too limited for you to know about these non-human entities."
The five had returned to the F4's exclusive lounge. To calm everyone's nerves, Ximen, who came from a family renowned for its tea ceremony, personally brewed tea for everyone. Even Domyoji refrained from insisting on coffee this time.
"How do you know all this?" Meizaku asked.
"Because there must be humans who can counter those non-human beings!" Hanno replied. "Just like the Vampire Hunters who specialize in dealing with vampires and the Onmyoji and priestesses who handle demons and monsters. Have you heard of the Hanaikain Family in Kyoto?"
"I've heard of them," Ximen nodded. "They are an ancient family, much like my own."
"Do you know what the Hanaikain Family specifically does?"
The three of them shook their heads in unison.
Hanno chuckled, "You may not know, but your ancestors certainly do. When you reach a certain age and they believe you are capable of knowing everything, they will definitely tell you."
Domyoji impatiently interjected, "What exactly is the Hanaikain Family? Hurry up and tell us!"
Hanno shot him a glare but revealed the answer anyway. "The Hanaikain Family is a lineage of Onmyoji, who have been protecting the peace of this Kyoto and the entire Mudong Kingdom."
"Huh? Onmyoji?" Domyoji asked foolishly, "Aren't Onmyoji just a scam?"
Hanno looked at him with disdain. Vampires are real, so why wouldn't Onmyoji be?
The other two also thought about this question and felt that Domyoji was extremely embarrassing. They quickly changed the subject.
Meizaku asked, "If that vampire isn't a Vampire Hunter, then are you an Onmyoji or a shrine maiden?"
Hanno replied, "Neither. I'm just an ordinary person who practices Chinese Martial Arts and possesses spiritual power!"
Meizaku, Ximen, and Domyoji all stared at him in disbelief: "Are you kidding us? You understand Chinese Martial Arts and have spiritual power? That's an ordinary person? An ordinary person? Then what are we?"
