Chapter Eleven: Thoughts
It hurts so much.
Xiaqiu's body drifted away, the pain from the wounds becoming painfully clear after the battle had ended.
So strong.
Xiaqiu never expected the opponent to be this powerful, able to fight underwater and gain the upper hand for a considerable time.

The opponent encountered was merely a lieutenant colonel from a branch, yet it had already led to such a predicament.
Within a branch, even a lieutenant colonel cannot take charge; only a colonel can oversee a branch.

At the same time, under the influence of Heat Flow, a tingling sensation arose from his wound, a sign that it was healing.
Xiaqiu swam into the distance, as the scent of blood attracted nearby sea fish.
With a splash, Xiaqiu opened his mouth wide and swallowed all the fish in one go, continuing to swim further away. By the time he reached the sunken ship, the bleeding had stopped.
As soon as Xiaqiu arrived, the nearby fish scattered. He slowly swam to the side of the wreck and lay flat against it.
Given Xiaqiu's size, he could no longer enter the cabin and had to rest outside.
He lay there motionless, waiting for the Heat Flow to dissipate.
After a while, the Heat Flow gradually faded away.
With a whoosh, Xiaqiu burst out of the depression, shaking his body as he propelled himself forward, a powerful force suddenly surging within him.
Xiaqiu could feel the immense strength unleashed as his body twisted.
Suddenly, he swam downward, swinging his tail against a rock near the sunken ship.
With a bang, the rock was sent flying, tumbling across the sandy ground.
His power had increased.
Xiaqiu had taken a few laps and realized that his speed had increased.
His size hadn’t grown, but both his strength and speed had improved.
This unique change was due to his recent diet, specifically, Xiaqiu had consumed human flesh.
Was the effect of human flesh really this remarkable?
After eating a person weighing around two hundred pounds, the energy he gained was greater than any previous meal he had consumed.
What did this mean?
Was human Evolutionary Energy far superior to that of sea creatures? Or were the two types of energy fundamentally different?
Or perhaps it was because the person he had eaten was inherently powerful, resulting in such an outcome?
Moreover, why did Evolutionary Energy not promote his growth but instead enhance his strength?
Xiaqiu had many questions, but no way to verify them.

“Belio was killed by a fish?”
In Manro Town, a man dressed in a Navy Uniform asked unexpectedly from behind a table.
Krum stood before him, lowering his head as he spoke. “I’m sorry, Colonel Lido. It was because we couldn’t capture the Black Fish that Colonel Belial went into the sea to fight it and was ultimately killed.”
“A Black Fish that even Belio couldn’t handle? There’s no way you could capture it.”
Lido furrowed his brow and said, "I will report Belio's death and seek to have him buried with honors as a fallen officer. As for you..."
Krumay quickly replied, "I have failed in my duties, and I ask Colonel Lido to relieve me of my responsibilities. However, I still wish to serve as a Navy member; please allow me to start from the ranks of a soldier."
"No need for that."
Lido shook his head and continued, "Belio was your superior, and you were required to follow his orders. This matter does not concern you."
Krumay shouted, "But I was wrong for not stopping him!"
"I know his character; how could you interfere with his actions?"
Colonel Lido looked at Krumay and said, "I understand that you were close to him and are deeply saddened by his death. However, our branch still needs someone to collect the security fees. You used to work for Belio, and now I will promote you to Major, assigning you the responsibility of collecting those fees."
"I..." Krumay hesitated.
Seeing his expression, Lido raised his voice, "You are a Navy Soldier; stop being so indecisive. What do you want?"
"I understand now."
Krumay replied earnestly, "I will complete my tasks diligently."
Lido nodded and said, "You will be responsible for collecting next month's security fees. I will file the information with the Eastern Sea Division. Work hard."
"Yes."
Krumay stood up straight.
"You're dismissed," Lido waved his hand.
"Thank you, sir."
Krumay turned and left the room, gently closing the door behind him with a smile on his lips.
He had been promoted.
From Captain to Major.
And this position was only temporary; compared to what he did, the rank felt somewhat low.
As long as he worked diligently for a year, becoming a Lieutenant Colonel would be a natural progression.
Krumay walked proudly into the distance, silently vowing to himself.
Sooner or later, I will become a Colonel, then transfer to headquarters, and finally become a General.
