Chapter 118: Falling Star
Three Naval Battleships sailed across the ocean. Judging by the positions of Xiaqiu and Nico Robin in the water, one ship was angled about sixty degrees to the right, another about fifteen degrees to the right, and the last one about fifteen degrees to the left, all heading diagonally towards the direction where the two were going.
Xiaqiu charged directly towards the leftmost ship, while Nico Robin moved along the Coast, heading to the left.
“Colonel Penn, the beast is coming.”
On the Naval Battleship attempting to intercept Nico Robin, a Major shouted loudly.
“Then fire at will. It attacked the Canola Flower Market; for the safety of the people, we cannot allow this beast to live.”
Pern gripped the sword on his back and stood at the ship's railing, his expression vigilant.
On the middle Naval Battleship, a burly man in a Navy Uniform puffed on a cigarette and said, “That woman is trying to use the beast to block our Battleship while she escapes. Change course and pursue Nico Robin. Do not approach her recklessly; maintain a distance and engage once we catch up.”
“Yes, Brigadier Madson,” a Sailor quickly replied as they set off in pursuit of Nico Robin, keeping a safe distance.
They were some way from the Coast; their ship was faster than a Sea Turtle, but here the sea breeze was weak and the current ran perpendicular to the Coast, making sailing difficult and limiting their speed.
Getting too close would take more time.
Moreover, being too close would make it hard for their Cannons to fire effectively from either side. It was better to maintain distance until they could catch up and then open fire.
"How long until support arrives here?" A tall woman in pink stood on the third Battleship, suddenly asking.
Beside her, a Lieutenant Commander shouted, "Colonel Tina, twenty nautical miles to go."
"That's so slow."
Tina snorted coldly and said, "We should catch up first. This area is under our jurisdiction, and Colonel Penn and Brigadier Madson are just nearby providing temporary support. If they manage to capture Nico Robin first, it would be embarrassing for us."
"Understood." The sailors quickly followed her lead.
At that moment, Xiaqiu surged through the Cannonball towards the first Naval Battleship, heading straight for it.
"Come at me; today I will slay you here."
Pern drew his sword, suddenly gripping the hilt tightly and slashing downward.
"Right Angle Flash, Pern's Air Cut."
In the next instant, a Wave Slash appeared, shooting towards the Surface of the Sea.
Xiaqiu charged forward without hesitation.
Bang.
Pern's Wave Slash struck Xiaqiu's dorsal fin directly, slicing through the tough skin and crashing into the bone beneath.
Creak.
A crack appeared on the hard spine, slowly widening, while the Wave Slash was rapidly consumed. When the crack reached six or seven centimeters deep, the Wave Slash vanished.
Xiaqiu's first dorsal fin resembled a shark's fin, shaped like a sickle.
At the very front of the fin was a hard spine that curved backward.
After growing, Xiaqiu's first dorsal fin had exceeded five meters in length, curving backward and standing about four meters tall, with a base thickness reaching fifty centimeters.
After countless enhancements, Xiaqiu's hard spine had become increasingly tough. If Xiaqiu's teeth were as hard as Tungsten Steel with a hardness of nine, then Xiaqiu's skull was made of zirconium with a hardness of seventy-five, while Xiaqiu's hard spine had a hardness of five, comparable to iron.
Behind the hard spine lay layers of filamentous cartilage. After enhancement, these cartilages became even more resilient, capable of dissipating force.
His Wave Slash could cleave through the necks of Sea Kings, but when it struck Xiaqiu's hard spine, the force was continuously absorbed, barely managing to break through some of the hard spine.

In the next moment, Xiaqiu crashed heavily into the Naval Battleship, causing it to tremble from a distance.

The bottom of the Naval Battleship was directly smashed open, creating a large hole through which seawater gushed in. Moreover, cracks spread upward from the hole. Not only that, but half of Xiaqiu's head had also lodged inside, colliding against the keel.

Cracks appeared on the surface of the Keel.
The Keel is the hardest and most crucial part of a ship; if it breaks, it is difficult to repair. If the Keel completely splits, the ship cannot sail far at all.
If the Keel snaps, this ship is essentially done for.
Normally, Xiaqiu would not directly ram into the Keel because it is too sturdy, especially for vessels in the Grand Line.
Xiaqiu's usual method was to disrupt the buoyancy balance and then let the ship sink.
The downside to this approach is that larger ships require more ramming attempts; for instance, a Naval Battleship would need to be struck at least three to four times.
But now things were different; Xiaqiu could smash through the hull and directly collide with the Keel.
One more hit would be enough to split the Keel in two.
However, Xiaqiu did not launch another attack; instead, he turned around and charged toward the second Battleship.
He was pursuing Nico Robin, and since he was closest to her, he had to stop her.
Additionally, he needed to cover some distance, using another ship as his target.
Boom.
Xiaqiu charged toward the Sea Vessel, pushing forward with all its might.
Having only used eighty percent of its strength to collide with the first Sea Vessel, Xiaqiu now exerted every ounce of energy in a full-force assault.
“Here it comes, Brigadier Madson,” a figure on the Battleship shouted loudly.
“I know, bring me my ‘Falling Star’,” Madison replied with a cold smirk as he tore off his Navy Uniform, revealing his muscular physique.
“Yes, sir.”
Immediately, a Sailor approached and handed Madison a massive iron Cannon. At the very front center of the Cannon, there was a diamond-shaped stone.
This stone was made from a peculiar Meteorite, incredibly sturdy.
He thrust his fist into the Cannon, rotating the front part until it clicked, enclosing his fist within.
“Let’s do this.”
Madison leaped onto the ship's railing, raising his right arm.
Bang, bang.
His right arm suddenly swelled, the black ribbons above it snapping as his arm grew to an enormous size.
Madison watched as the colossal beast approached, raising his fist and bending his legs before launching himself forward.
"Taking the initiative to attack?"
Xiaqiu caught sight of him, snorting coldly, and used the added momentum to charge diagonally upward.
Xiaqiu collided with the opponent, while the opponent's fist came crashing down.
Boom.
The fist and the horn met with a resounding impact.
Under the immense force, Xiaqiu's scales slightly dented, and the muscles beneath continuously absorbed the impact. However, as the force surged through, a tremendous power gathered at the tip of the meteorite, causing cracks to appear in Xiaqiu's scales. The damage continued downward, tearing through layers of muscle, though the strength began to wane.
Once the meteorite embedded itself into Xiaqiu's flesh, Gauntlet, which was larger from behind, was hindered by the surrounding scales and muscles, causing its force to diminish sharply.
Crack.
The meteorite had not even touched Xiaqiu's skull when its power vanished without a trace.
As Gauntlet struck Xiaqiu's head, the feedback from the impact created tiny fissures at the connection point of the meteorite behind it.
With Gauntlet pushing deeper, the meteorite itself remained unscathed, but Gauntlet began to fracture from its midpoint, slowly splitting apart.
Snap.
The Gauntlet shattered, the force transmitting through his arm, tearing his muscle fibers and causing his bones to creak.
Boom.
Xiaqiu's head continued to lunge forward, colliding with Madison's fist as if it were a meteor.
Crack.
Madison's knuckles broke, and the impact resonated through his entire arm.
Snap.
Madison's arm fractured, and he was thrown back, but Xiaqiu's momentum also dissipated, most of the force absorbed by Madison's arm. After being propelled a distance away, Madison fell again towards the Surface of the Sea.
After the collision, Xiaqiu's head dropped back to the Water Surface, quickly rising again, ready for another strike.
"Moon Step."
In an instant, Madison's foot struck the Water Surface multiple times, propelling him upward. After a few leaps, he returned to the ship.
"What a formidable beast."
Madison's expression darkened; his entire arm was rendered useless. Even if it healed later, he would likely never be able to exert much strength again.
"I didn't get crushed."
Xiaqiu struck with a powerful blow, but as the force dissipated, the opponent managed to escape, leaving Xiaqiu with a sense of regret.
His strength was immense.
Even though he had collided with him on the Water Surface, the power he felt was the greatest he had ever encountered.
At the very least, he was a Commodore.
Xiaqiu had already marked his opponent as a target and turned around, charging once more toward the first Battleship.
