Chapter 144: Changes
"Nico Robin, your bounty has increased again."
In a certain location on the Grand Line, Sabo handed a bounty notice to the tall woman beside him.
"One hundred forty million?"
Nico Robin frowned upon seeing the number and asked, "Do they know I'm with the Revolutionary Army? But I shouldn't have exposed my identity."
"Of course not."
Kera walked over and handed another bounty notice, saying, "Not only has your bounty increased, but Autumn's bounty has also risen to ninety million. Perhaps it's because of him that yours went up."
"Autumn?"
Nico Robin took the bounty notice and glanced at it, confused. "What exactly happened?"
Kera shrugged and replied, "Autumn attacked a Vice Admiral—the Demon Spider Vice Admiral from the G4 branch—and killed him."
"This..."
Nico Robin asked in disbelief, "Autumn actually killed a Vice Admiral?"
"To kill a Vice Admiral, his strength must be greater than I thought, especially against an experienced Vice Admiral like Oni Spider."
Sabo marveled, noting that while he could easily defeat a Vice Admiral now, facing a seasoned one would require a tough battle.
"But why would he do something like that?" Nico Robin asked, her brow furrowed in confusion as she wondered why he would attack a Vice Admiral.
Hearing this, Kera recalled something and asked, "I remember he asked us for a way to contact him, right?"
Sabo looked at Kera and replied, "He hasn't contacted us in over a year."
Kera continued, "The issue isn't here; it's what he actually wants to do. He didn't tell us back then because he felt he couldn't achieve it at that moment and believed he would reveal his strength later. But now it seems like killing Vice Admiral or sending us a signal."
"Is that so?"
Sabo yawned and said, "Then let's just wait for him to reach out."
...
"Don't stop, keep running!"
In Alabasta, Alubha shouted loudly from the side of the training ground.
"I... I can't hold on anymore."
Not far away, Vivi was panting heavily, struggling to keep her legs moving as beads of sweat streamed down her face.
"You're really useless," Cecilia shook her head.
"Is it really necessary for Vivi to endure such grueling training right now?"
Behind a nearby wall, a figure peeked out, watching with a pained expression.
"Your Majesty, this is Vivi's own decision. She feels too weak to protect Alabasta, so she asked Senior Agent from Baroque Works to help train her," Ikaram explained. This was Vivi's version; she hadn't revealed the truth to anyone else.
"What a good daughter," Cobra, the king of Alabasta, said with a touched expression.
"Who is it?"
But the next moment, the tall figure in the distance looked this way and leaped toward them, while Vivi also stood still, gazing in that direction.
"We're done for; we've been spotted," Cobra exclaimed, his expression shifting to one of alarm as he turned to run.
"I'll stop her."
Ikaram stood up and positioned himself in front of Cobra.
Cecilia quickly approached Ikaram, leaping into the air and aiming a kick directly at his head with her right foot.
Ikaram hurriedly raised his arm to block, and with a loud thud, the immense force hit him, causing him to stagger backward.
"Hmph."
Cecilia pivoted on her right foot and appeared beside Ikaram, delivering another kick.
However, just as her foot was about to land, another leg came up from below to intercept the strike.
Bang.
The two legs collided, but the figure that had blocked the attack trembled and fell to the ground.
"Vivi."
Cobra rushed over to check on her injuries.
She clutched her leg, her face contorted in pain as she looked at Cecilia and asked in confusion, "Why could you touch me too?"
Cecilia snorted and said, "It's simple. The president told me about your weakness—you're afraid of water. So when I attacked just now, I splashed some water on your legs."
On Cecilia's legs, droplets of water were still clinging.
"This..." Vivi was somewhat surprised; she hadn't expected them to know her weakness. With this method aside from R, there was now a second way to touch her.
Cecilia huffed and continued, "So you should understand that when you have weaknesses, physical skills become incredibly important. If I had decided to strike, wouldn't your father be dead by now?"
Cecilia said coldly, "So are you still planning to slack off?"
"I'm sorry," Vivi said, guilt evident on her face.
Cecilia scoffed and said, "Take a break today. We'll continue training tomorrow."
"Understood."
Vivi gritted her teeth and stood up. She realized that her combat power was getting weaker; after her weakness was exposed, many people could potentially defeat her.
However, this also solidified her resolve to improve herself. She was still too weak as she was now.
...
Four Island.
This was the fourth base of Baroque Works. At this moment, on the deserted island, Xiaqiu and Heckler stood facing each other.
Whoosh.
Xiaqiu's Tentacles suddenly lashed out, attacking Heckler in front of her.
"Good to come."
Heckler raised his arms, muscles bulging, and threw a powerful punch at the Tentacle.
"Boom."
As the Tentacle collided with his fist, Heckler felt a tremendous force surge back at him. Realizing the danger, he quickly reduced his weight and was sent flying backward, landing some distance away. He stumbled, nearly falling to the ground.
"What immense power."
Heckler's arms throbbed with pain as he looked at his opponent, astonished by its strength.
"You should go back."
Bola glanced at Heckler and said, "Your skills are still lacking. Go back and continue training."
"Yes."
Heckler replied hastily, feeling somewhat discouraged. He had thought that with hard work, he could catch up to this giant beast.
But he never expected the gap between him and the beast to widen. He used to be able to maneuver around it, but now he couldn't even handle a single Tentacle.
Heckler turned to leave, determined to return and train harder.
Indeed, after consuming Vice Admiral's power, his own Tentacle strength had increased again, becoming even more resilient. With the addition of Armament Haki, its power had surged.
Now, a casual strike could match Heckler's full-force attack.
Xiaqiu was very pleased with the improvement in his strength.
After he left, Bola looked at Xiaqiu, his eyes flickering as he said, "You've become stronger again."
He noticed the changes in Xiaqiu, not just in her physique but also in her enhanced abilities.
It seemed she had been evolving and growing stronger all along.
"You're just too weak," Xiaqiu replied, shaking her head in dissatisfaction. If their strength was only at this level, they wouldn't be able to execute their plans.
"I'm sorry," Bola immediately lowered his head.
Xiaqiu huffed and said, "You can go attend to your own matters now."
"Yes," Bola replied before turning to leave.
However, at that moment, Xiaqiu suddenly charged toward the mountains.
Boom!
A tremendous sound erupted, drawing not only Bola's attention but also that of Heckler on the shore.
Xiaqiu reached the base of the mountains and suddenly slammed into them.
"What...?"
Bola watched this scene unfold, somewhat confused about what she was trying to do.
Boom.
In the next moment, Xiaqiu crashed into the Foot of the Mountain, a deafening sound echoing as rocks flew and smoke billowed.
However, when the smoke cleared, Bola was met with a horrifying sight.
Where Xiaqiu had collided, a massive pit had formed—over ten meters in diameter and four to five meters deep.
Not only that, but cracks spread outwards in all directions, especially towards the mountain's peak. The widest crack measured over two feet across.
If there were a few more hits like that, Bola had no doubt that Xiaqiu could split the mountain apart.
"What immense power."
Bola stared blankly at the scene before him; the level of destruction was truly staggering.
"It hurts a bit."
Xiaqiu shook its head and regained its senses.
The destructive force was quite impressive.
Xiaqiu's strength was enormous. After consuming Vice Admiral, combined with the force of impact, it had surpassed Vice Admiral by a significant margin.
Of course, this was due to running and utilizing all of its strength, leveraging its massive weight and formidable horns to generate such power.
However, when it came to individual body parts—like Tentacles, legs, or tail—they were somewhat weaker than Vice Admiral.
At this level, when combined with Armament Haki, the power became extraordinarily formidable.
Xiaqiu's strike was powerful, rivaling Green Pepper's headbutt, but it still couldn't compare to his 'Drill Dragon Drill Ding Green Pepper Opens the Door' and 'No Spike Dragon No Spike Ding' techniques.
However, the consumption of Haki was too great.
The force of this impact had directly drained half of his Armament Haki.
Moreover, even in this situation, he felt a sharp pain in his head.
It seemed he needed to continue increasing his Haki and use it wisely to protect himself.
Xiaqiu shook his head and glanced at the stunned Bola before walking toward the ocean.
