Chen Rui began to tidy up the chaotic office. In reality, it didn't look too messy; most of the disorder was just the desks and chairs being slightly out of place. There were hardly any serious documents on anyone's desk.
"So, what do we do now?" Li Xue asked. "They will definitely reach their goal as quickly as possible. If we can't get any information now, just wait for defeat."
"Don't worry, Ye Han will handle it," Chen Rui replied, glancing at Li Xue leaning against the desk with a smile. "Why don't you help me out? This desk is really heavy."
"A big man like you can't even muster this little strength?" Li Xue walked over, placed her hands on the desk, and pushed with all her might, but it didn’t budge an inch.
After several attempts, the desk remained immovable, leaving Li Xue panting. She had put all her strength into pushing it; how could it be so stubborn?
Li Xue examined the desk closely; it was clearly not the type that one couldn't move at all.
Then she caught sight of Chen Rui's smiling face and realized she had been played. In a flash, she lunged at him.
"Stop messing around! Hahaha, that tickles! Let go!" Seeing Li Xue leap into his arms, Chen Rui couldn't let her fall to the ground and instinctively caught her. However, he immediately regretted it.
Li Xue wrapped one arm around Chen Rui while using the other to tickle him mercilessly.
Peng Hao and the others pushed the door open to find this scene: a lopsided desk and Chen Rui and Li Xue entangled in each other's arms, seemingly engaged in some playful activity.
Both of them froze upon seeing the newcomers. Chen Rui's first thought was: Finally, you're back! Come save me!
But reality was never as satisfying as one hoped. After a few seconds of shock, Peng Hao and the others quickly misunderstood the situation. Just as they were closing the door, Chen Rui heard Peng Hao muttering, "If you're going to work, at least lock the door. Seriously..."
A swarm of alpacas raced through Chen Rui's mind. Li Xue also sensed that they seemed to be misunderstood. The two of them instinctively stepped out of the office and collided with a group of whispering people, with Peng Hao being the most animated among them.
Chen Rui pulled everyone into the office and stared at the row of people in front of him, suddenly unsure of how to proceed. The situation was only getting worse!
"We were just playing around," Li Xue said unexpectedly, her usual sharpness faltering with such an ambiguous statement, leaving Chen Rui speechless.
“Understood, understood! Whatever you say, sister-in-law!” Peng Hao immediately put on a smiling face to agree, his attitude suggesting that he would only believe what he saw.
“Alright, back to business.” Chen Rui directly changed the topic, speaking with rare seriousness. “Did Zhan Min find anything?”
Peng Hao shook his head. “Not yet, but it’s certain that we don’t have any photos of the targets. This means that aside from you, no one else recognizes any of their faces.”
“Even if they brushed past each other on the street, they wouldn’t know?” Chen Rui rubbed his chin. “This is indeed a tricky problem.”
“The situation at the time was that they deliberately caused a car accident, and then four of them stayed behind pretending to negotiate compensation. Because of this, Zhan Min subconsciously overlooked them. Afterward, it seems they took the damaged car and fled in the opposite direction,” Peng Hao briefly summarized the situation.
“Do you know where they went?” Chen Rui frowned. This brought them back to square one. Aside from the enemy losing two girls—one who had studied boxing and the other who had practically delivered herself to them—they hadn’t suffered any losses. As of now, Chen Rui still knew nothing.
Lujie opened a 3D projection and pointed at a map where he drew an irregular circle, indicating a boundary line on the edge. “They disappeared from here. It’s the same old trick; they moved through a surveillance blind spot. This area is defined based on temporary checkpoints, meaning if they want to exit this range, they would have to break through a checkpoint. In that case, we would receive news immediately. So right now, they should still be within this area.”
Chen Rui looked at the circle Lujie drew and shook his head. “No good; this area is too large for any hope of a search.”
“No need for a search,” Ye Han said with a smile as he walked into the office and approached Chen Rui. “Their goal is to obtain a large sum of money, and in this city, besides robbery, there’s an even faster method.”
“Gambling!” Chen Rui understood but countered Ye Han’s viewpoint. “Actually, gambling is the quickest way. There are rumors that in any casino hotel here, if you play double or nothing with just one dollar and win eight times in a row, you could own the entire city. It’s really possible and faster than robbery!”
“I’m not sure you’d dare to cash out after winning eight times in a row,” Peng Hao chuckled. “Even if you did dare, I bet you’d never get to the cash-out window for the rest of your life.”
“Exactly! There’s a bank nearby with a large vault that stores gold,” Ye Han redirected the conversation back on track. “According to their plan, they wouldn’t directly attack this bank, would they?”
“Unless they’ve lost their minds; that’s the Wells Fargo branch you’re talking about, right?” Chen Rui asked. “It’s basically impossible; traffic here is completely under our control. Even if we walked there, it would only take us a minute to arrive—they wouldn’t make it in time.”
“That’s what worries me; the more you think like that, the more likely you’ll fall into their trap. So my advice is that no matter what happens, don’t deploy more than half of our forces at once,” Ye Han said seriously.
"Peng Hao" questioned, "What if they want you to think that way? What then?"
"Chen Rui" interrupted the topic, "Alright, deploying half of our forces should be enough to resolve the issue. If something happens later, we can adapt on the fly. Ye Han! Continue!"
"That's all I know. She only knows this much," "Ye Han" said with an apologetic smile.
"How is that possible?" "Chen Rui" asked in confusion. It was understandable that "Li Xue" didn't participate in their action plan since she had planned to 'walk into the trap' before the game even started, so not knowing the specifics was excusable.
But! There was no way "Zhou Yan" could be in the same situation!!!
"Are you sure she's not just messing with you?" "Chen Rui" shook "Ye Han's" shoulders.
"Ye Han" pushed "Chen Rui" away and smiled awkwardly, "I'm sure she wasn't lying to me. Her explanation was that our leader is too intimidating, so they've been taking things one step at a time since they entered. Besides the final goal, they have no other plans at all. And they made the final goal so vague specifically because of you!"
"So there's really no intel? Am I that terrifying?" "Chen Rui" sat helplessly in a chair behind him, looking at "Li Xue," trying to extract some information.
"Don't look at me; who told you to set such traps?" "Li Xue" laughed. "This is all learned from hard lessons, specifically designed to deal with you."

"What are you afraid of? Their team has shrunk by a third, so their workload will definitely increase. To avoid making mistakes again, they'll likely decide to fight it out. We," "Peng Hao" lightly punched "Chen Rui's" shoulder, "just need to wait!"
"Let's hope so," "Chen Rui" replied calmly.
"All personnel, be ready to deploy at any moment. Keep your weapons on you and remain on standby twenty-four hours!" "Peng Hao" commanded on behalf of "Chen Rui." "Now disperse, but no one is allowed to leave this floor."
The crowd dispersed in a rush, each attending to their own tasks.
"I’m just afraid they might feint to the east while attacking the west," Chen Rui said, furrowing his brow as he looked at the people in front of him.
"What does that matter? As long as we keep a mobile unit here, we don’t need to worry about that," Peng Hao replied with a smile, clearly dismissing Chen Rui's concerns.
"You don’t understand my point. I’m worried they might use mobile warfare to drag all of us into an awkward situation while heading towards our destination. If that happens, we’ll be completely passive," Chen Rui revealed his true concern.
Indeed, the previous encounter had clearly shown how well the opposing faction controlled city traffic. They could almost create traffic jams at will. If the Traffic Management System were hacked again, Chen Rui and his team could find themselves trapped in chaos.
"What about that helicopter from before?" Li Xue suggested a solution. "No matter how congested the roads are, they can’t control the airspace too, right?"
"That’s one way to go, and it’s a strong mobile force. However, that unit isn’t directly under our command. I’ll check on it. But we can’t force others if they can’t help," Chen Rui sighed, suddenly remembering something. "By the way, is that truck driver still around?"
"Yes, he should be. It’s still early; let’s hurry and resolve that issue. If we can’t get a helicopter because of this, it would be a huge loss," Li Xue tugged at Chen Rui's sleeve, urging him to move quickly.
"True," Chen Rui nodded sheepishly. "But it seems like we can’t use that compensation money for this situation."
"Come on! What’s more important, this imaginary money or the overall situation in this dream?" Li Xue knocked lightly on Chen Rui's head with her fist, clearly dissatisfied with his hesitation.
"I'm not one of you wealthy people who can spend money so freely," Chen Rui protested but still prepared to follow Li Xue out of the office.
"We’ll be back soon. You all maintain combat readiness. Lujie, continue your reconnaissance duties. Ye Han, take your team to check all the CCTV cameras around the city!" Chen Rui instructed before leaving. "Once this mission is successfully completed, everyone will get a day off."
"Mission guaranteed!" Amidst the thunderous shouts, Chen Rui confidently led Li Xue away.
